In this video we look at how I'm powering my off-grid pool house in our continuing series. We chose going off-grid here to avoid needing costly permits and trenching for running new electrical to the space. It turns out the cost of making it off-grid is cheaper than connecting to the grid (in our case) and could be a good solution for anyone looking to build a flex space in their house. Like you perhaps :)

Yes he mentions covering them. (At the end of the video) I think its cool to make something luxury like a pool have a lot less impact on the environment.

What type of permitting was required for this if it’s off-grid? We have a grid tied solar system so the inverters and everything are already in place but I think ecoflow’s expandable battery back up solution could be an affordable alternative to a powerwall or equivalent type of installation. Here in MN we have net metering and grid rarely goes down, we also don’t have time of use other than optional off peak charging for EVs so it’d be tough to justify the cost of a full system

No permits here since it's not touching the grid and the size of the structure is within the allowed limit. For your situation I think a EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra with smart home panel to do the automatic switching could work. Then you still have a unit you can wheel around and use for projects plus it can be a whole home backup option. We were going to do that here but it's so powerful we decided against it since it would be overkill. Hope this helps!
