People fuss about drummer's not playing in the pocket but if nobody else is the band is playing lead fills then the drummer got to leave the pocket to rescue the song. Y'all act like Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King or Prince playing leads and the church drummer overplaying.
@@Major2219 Everything he did at the beginning was so simple. I was afraid he was going to stay totally in the pocket for the whole video. I thought he was a novice. Then he did a really nice fill at 2:22 and I knew he was just staying in the pocket because he wanted to, not because he didn't know how to venture out.
@@Tiaffo Its nothing wrong with being in the pocket as you can see its sounds pretty good.. Don't get caught up in these fancy drummers that do extra to sound good. All a good drummer need is a bass drum, snare and hi hat and cymbals. Its nothing wrong with being creative but the fundamentals can take u far
Trust me Daniel has tons of chops he's cold on set, cogic ikes to have pocket and apparently so do the viewers cause in most holy convocation videos they get on multiple drummes cases for losing pocket so hes just staying locked in.
