Great cabinet saw. I own the Powermatic Contractors saw with a 2HP motor and extra cast iron extension wings. I added custom turned pulleys with expensive link belts, 2 to push it. Runs so smooth you can balance a coin on the table. My next saw is the Powermatic PM 2000. Great video.
In many of the review videos I will shoot initial footage, especially of internal parts because it is easier to get to them and get the lighted well enough for video. the PM2000 still does stay rather clean inside because the dust collection is very effective when connected to a suitable collector. But like every table saw, some dust will collect inside the cabinet. I would open the door and stick a dc hose in ever few months to help clean it out.
thanks for making the effort to reply. and i understand like any table saw you will have to clean it. and you did give a good peek at the internals of it. and i will look at your channel further because i bet i will get to see some projects you made with that saw among other tools that you likely already had. and it is nice to know that it has a table side collector for a shop vac, i'm guessing it is on the fence? or is it right under the surface near the blade?
The PM2000 does not have above the table dust collection. the SawStop is the one that includes dust collection through the blade guard with a port at the rear of that assembly. something else to keep in mind that there is not a shop-vac made that will keep up with most woodworking machines. You really need to use a full-on dust collector machine designed for woodworking use. I have tried even some scary big shop-vacs and it just does not happen.
I have never cut sheet metal on a table saw and have never seen one that is rated for cutting sheet metal. There might be a metalworking machine for this but I have not seen one of those either.
i made the comment early in watching the video, and saw later used blades. do the internals remain that clean in a month of regular use? please don't get me wrong i am not against this product by any means, but i am curious as to the method of review. in text your review would work, but on video your review needs to cover more.
.....as I live in an economic reality....isn't it better to go for 12" or 14" cabinet saw? ...if you are going to put any money into one at all: ...have you tried the Laguna 14".......what do you think of them? please respond..... I'm remote in Canada, and don't get to test any machines.....thx: DS
and don't worry about a reply to me, i only manage to dream of woodworking, i have nothing, neither experience or tools, so smacking me over the head is fair. i only get to see it online. and i'm not a kid, i'm just a pretty worthless fool. i just enjoy watching people make things and remember what i can about what they are doing.
