@ᴄᴏᴜʀᴛɴᴇʏ ᴡʜɪᴛᴍᴏʀᴇ If I remember correctly, they did dub the whole thing. It's just that they left out some episodes or some scenes in some episodes so the English dub one was a little shorter than the japanese one.
i like how this series incorporated buttercup's tomboyish-ness more into her design: even when she's wearing the superpowered outfit. which is more feminine than her base design, they make her hair more spunkier and make her movements more brash. i think that should be done more often

I love the movements in these transformations. Especially Buttercup. The way she throws out punches mid transformation makes it seem like she didn’t even wait for it to finish before trying to deck you right in the face. Very fitting for her character.
I remember as a kid saying "Aren't they supposed to be sisters?" when I saw they actually have a living and existing blood relatives. But now as I grew up, I find this much more better [personally] but kinda wished they were still sisters. But its interesting to see their family that makes sense for their personalities.
I would really love it if they came back with a reboot for this! I loved the PPG in the anime art style, plus each of their stories and background were unique in their own way. The soundtracks were also great! I wish they could come back and reboot this in 2022 :(
Not a reboot, but a soft reboot. Same world and characters, just a few design changes and overall art style to either make fighting and fast scenes more dynamic, or very good looking.
When I was younger i used to have a crush on Buttercup, thinking she was a boy. And I was always like, "Why do they keep putting him in girl clothes everytime he transforms?"
One of my first few animes, I love their magical transformations so much, they’re so… jazzy, I guess I’d say? and stylish. The OST that plays when they all transform together is literally still ingrained in my brain all these years later 😂

Blossom's and Bubbles' transformations are the best to me. Blossom's got that energetic catchy music and overall "go get it gurl!!" vibe, and Bubbles' got groovy music and has that charming show-off fashion show aura
I love how the Japanese version is the one that makes logical sense versus the American one where the girls go around in their superhero outfits 24/7 except at bedtime
They didn't have a secret identity in the original. In the anime, they wear different clothes when they're not superheroes and no one knew they were heroes, hence why they have this transformation
Because they weren’t superhero outfits, plus them being heroes was never a secret to begin with in the original version. On top of that you can still see their full face in this version but people still don’t know it’s them after? That doesn’t make logical sense at all, but magic girl anime don’t have to.
What nostalgia, I remember that once as a child we went to McDonald's with my family and we also took a cousin, in the happy meal we both got some kind of toys in which we could dress a special character. She got Buttercup and I got the Princess xDD.
I remember watching this in kinder garten lol😂😂 I remember Blossom has a yoyo, Blossom has bubble powers I think, and Buttercup (my fav back then) has a hammer I think? Very hazy memory because I was still in kindergarten... The memories💗💗💗

Never forgiving y’all for trying to say this was a bad show.. I remember seeing people back in 2013 flame this show badly.. I wish it didn’t take the reboot for people to realize this wasn’t bad.
I loved this show just as much as the original Powerpuff Girls. I watched both all the time when I was eight. Especially in the years since the reboot came along this version seems to be remembered a lot more fondly than how the general opinion went back in the 2000s.

ngl i prefer a lot of the changes in the anime than the og. like how they're not sisters, i know some people dislike this but storywise it makes sense. they all have such distinct personalities and its obviously because of the way theyre raised, im not saying siblings have very same personalities. but if u have characters like buttercup, bubbles and blossom that have personalities that are just WAAAYY too different, them being sisters is kinda odd lol. bubbles grew up in a peaceful household thats why shes so gentle, buttercup grew up ina chaotic household and thats why shes rash and aggressive, blossom grew up in a playful household thats why she became hyper.

The ppgz transformations aren't as grand as some VERY artistic transformations I've seen, but theirs has been favourite for a long time cus the way they move with their transformations just adds a unique touch to their transformations for me. It looks so fun
even to this day, bubbles has my favourite transformation, and its not because i am biased over the fact that she is my favourite, but its because I love her movements, especially with her skirt and jacket just feels very aesthetic and nice, though I do think buttercups soundtrack when it plays is better
