O'Reilly's GM4315, I believe originally sold as the Topeak TT2524 Rocket Lite DX Tool. This is one super microscopic ratchet I compact pearhead with a little reversing switch it is really neat and seems to be reasonably strong for its size and could be real Lifesaver in many Automotive situations also good for bicycles because it is lightweight and compact. . .

You could put the 1/4" adapter into the bottom of the handle and put a really long 1/4" extension onto that and have the worlds smallest and longest 1/4" ratchet. Only for running in/ out stuff otherwise something will break.

I have this one and the TOPEAK. I've used the crap out of them both and I truly don't know what I would do without it. It is often the only tool that will get the job done without taking a whole bunch of other things apart.

How does this compare to HF icon set similar to this?

I agree that it is a good tool. I have had both Topeak and the PowerTorque, having had the Topeak first, I picked up the other just to see the differences, which as I'm sure you have seen, there aren't many. Maybe just finishes as I think the Topeak has been polished more but it's not worth $15-20 in the cost difference. I ended up giving the PowerTorque to my father who is a big tinkerer and DIY guy, guess that is where I get it from. And you are right that it won't have the clearances for use with a socket that the socket drivers have due to the passthrough design but that is also the point, it's not solely a socket driver. You'll never get the efficiency from a tool designed to have something else as it priority use. You wouldn't get the same clearances from the Socket driver if you had a bit driver adaptor for it. Regardless, nice to see the differences and comparisons.

I used the hell out of this in aircrafts. Some places I couldnt reach with hand and regular rachet. I actually threw a hex bit at the end of the small rachet. With and extension and suddenly I had a really long rachet with a really small head to get those really far out bolts

Used this to change the top cover on a Harley transmission top cover. Worked exactly as I had hoped. I recommend cutting down the 3/16 hex bit as Catus suggests and inserting it "backwards". No L shaped Allen key necessary.

I love these small hex driver sets. I picked up a small set on an impulse buy, and it slowly became my go-to tool for "around-the-house". Tightening cupboard handles, assembling flat-pack furniture, etc, etc. I'd prefer using this tool over a standard screwdriver any day. It's just flat-out a better tool for the job. The right-angle handle allows much, much, more tightening force or screw loosening torque. As well as the ratcheting mechanism making any job faster and easier. After realizing this is the ultimate around-the-house tool, I added some extensions to overcome places that don't allow the handle to swing, as well as ordered a bunch ultra high quality WIHA bits. They just seem to have tighter tolerances and be made out of higher quality steel. In my experience, using quality bits is the "key" to avoiding stripped fasteners.

Topeak, vim, and presticycle all make this tool and they’re identical

As of july 2022/ Two years ago I bought a few of those at $15. Yesterday I saw them at ORileys 18.99, the topeak is selling for $30 on Amazon.(correction Amazon wants $40)

I have a little one from TSC, Olympia brand, was $14 with bits, check it out it’s smaller than that. I’d only use the oly for bits.

Thanks as always for another great tool review. I've got 3 of these sets, as after I bought my first one and it worked out so well I wanted to grab a couple extras incase I lost or broke one. I've been using mine for years in some of my work situations where I assemble and repair exercise equipment, and I can attest to this little ratchet being great to get into tight spaces and reduce repair times. In many situations I'd have to remove other components to get to fasteners with any other tool but the micro ratchet allowed me to forgo extensive disassembly because it can get into those tight spots.

I wonder what sorta things you can actually do with the 2 ratchet setup?!? That's damn neat! possibly if you need to stabilize a socket in a deep spot?

And you forgot to mention that if you adapt a 6" or 12" bit extension in to bottom end you can make a really long ratchet for more leverage and an extra reaching feature to it.

I trimmed my adapter back a little on mine so the lip sits flush against the head.

I went to O'Reilly's today and picked this up after watching this video last night. It is hard to realize how small the head really is until you actually get it in the hand. The quality seems quite superior. For $17 (with tax), I don't see how one could do better. My intention is to use this to reach the two hard to reach screws to remove the top cover from Harley transmissions. Without this tool, one has to use a regular L shaped "Allen" key and manually turn those screws. Even then short end of said "Allen" key needs to be rather short to fit without hitting the cylinder fins.
@byloyuripka9624
@byloyuripka9624 Год назад
You could get clearance by grinding all the fins off, routing passageways tightly around the engine and fill it with some kind of fluid that is good at conducting thermal energy, and push the fluid around with a pump ran off the crank or something, and have a small heat exchanger hanging in the wind to evacuate heat from rhe system. With a fan you could even sit in traffic without overheating? A crazy idea i know

The Wadsworth manufacturing bit ratchet has a narrower head, but it's kind of a high profile ratchet . Btw I'd trim the socket adapter so it fits flush and gets you a slightly lower profile.

Yep, those sets are awesome. I use mine all the time doing industrial maintenance. The spline drive is pretty strong, I’ve used all my strength pulling on it and it’s never broken the bits or the wrench.

lol you sound funny when you say "Tor-X." Torx rhymes with forks TY for the tip though, I may buy this tool. It is impressive how compact that is.
