Fantastic tip. Thank you so much. I arrived in Somerset 5 days ago and found that one of my motor movers was jammed. A quick viewing of the video and my motor mover was working again in seconds. Such a simple thing to do.
You are a lifesaver. Just spent 1.5 hours trying to fault find the issue then found this video... literally 2 minutes later I'm happily moving my van around again. Cheers.
Our mover failed to engage on one side when trying to leave a site in Norfolk in June. The site owner told us to try this fix, very quick, abit of pressure turning the large key and I suddenly felt everything go free. Good video because the manual with mover isn't alot if help.
Brilliant! Ours was stuck on one side, and being 12 years old, I was convinced it was going to be more serious. Biggest job was getting the cover off 😂 Thank you so much 👍
I really did not think the fix would be this easy but it seemed it would cost me nothing to try before I shelled out for an engineer. Blimey, 5 minutes and bingo, all working perfect and back into the house for a cool one and boast to the wife about what a genius mechanic she married. I'm guessing it just gets a bit stuck and a turn on the nut frees it up. I didn't have the specialist tool but a 9/32 quarter inch drive socket does the job perfect. It's been a few years since you uploaded this video, I hope you still monitor it so you will know how grateful I am for such excellent guidance. Thank you.
Great to hear it helped David. Believe it or not this is watched a lot even 4 years later. Glad it helps so many. Happy travels. Don’t forget, you are a Great Engineer. I won’t tell anyone if you don’t.
I have just moved about 10 miles to a new house in southern Italy. The week before I moved house, my Japanese import Nissan van had a problem with the timing chain. 6 garages wouldn’t touch it, including the Nissan main dealer. The 7th garage, a small local garage without even a sign above the door had the software for Japanese market cars and diagnosed the problem straight the way. It took 3 weeks for him to fix it (he’s very good and therefore very busy) and so I hired a van. So, it came to moving my caravan and I have the same problem as you. The road to my house has a very tight turn in the drive and I could not tow my caravan straight in. I was toying with the idea of cutting a branch off an oak tree and I might just scrape in but to be safe, I was going to leave my caravan outside a friends house until I could get someone to repair the motor movers. Thanks to you two, I don’t have to now. My caravan will fit in easily without a 5 metre van in front, towing it. Now where did I put that tool, I know it’s in the caravan somewhere.🤣🤣 Brilliant stuff, thanks again.👍
This has been a great help. Tried to get my van out on the front today to wash and polish and the the motors wouldn't engage. I tried your advice and it worked... many thanks 👍
Thanks so much for that. Thought to begin with that the cable had rubbed through - but NO . Two simple twists & now our offside mover actually moves again . Thanks again fir taking the time to share your findings.
Spent all afternoon trying to solve this after being told by my service engineer that it must be a battery problem. Been swapping batteries which made no difference. Found your brilliant you tube video and fixed it in a couple of minutes. You guys are life savers, thank you very much. Would you like to be my new service engineer, think i might have to sack the current one 👍
Thank you SO much - we had this problem on one side and your video was superb - we watched, then followed your instruction and 👍🏻 😀 Saved us from a whole lot of stress.
Thanks. I've been struggling to get that cover off, couldn't see a screw and reluctant to use force. Now I know it just pulls off, I can attack it with confidence!😀
Amazingly helpful thank you so much 🙂 I have used the tool before when battery in van failed with movers engaged ON the tyres !! Manually wound the movers back. That was alot of turns ! Glad this should only be a couple of turns. Thanks again guys
Just had this issue on parents caravan while on site, worked a treat and they didn't know what that tool was for :) Great instructions but we did laugh at you repositioning yourself then the plastic cover came off, it's a tough job getting it off 😂
Thank you very much for up loading this video. I have just resolved my motor mover problems using the advice you have provided. It is a shame that the syncing problem is not covered in the operators manual because I am sure there are a lot of people must have experienced the loss of function.
Great video, thank you very much. I was all prepped and ready to sort out my caravan mover, one side would not reverse, turned the remote on, then, without engaging the wheels, I spun them forward then reverse and a stone dropped out ....Result!
Thanks for the video. Funnily I emailed Powrtouch yesterday to find out how to get the covers off so I could clean and lubricate each mover. I have the same type of Powrtouch mover as you so seeing you removing the covers come in handy. Maybe you should do a video on Powrtouch maintenance as I’ve not seen anyone do one on RU-vid 👍🏻
Thanks , that is really useful. These movers can be a bit temperamental at times. We had one replaced under warranty and the cover would fall off as we were driving down the road. Used electrical ties so if they do come off they stay attached now and don’t litter the A38. Another tip is to switch it on and off at the battery box, that sometimes does the trick also. Thanks again
My mover had the same problem. Followed these instructions and hey presto back in business. Cover was a devil to get off. Cleaned and lightly lubricated in case I have a repeat performance!
This saved my trip and my sanity on Tuesday, so many hearty thanks for such a clear explanation of how it should be done. Always wondered what that T-bar was for ........ :)
Thanks for the info. Got the same problem, not engaging. Going to give it a go tomorrow. Hopefully it will work. Like you the Red handle had me puzzled. Cheers David.
great video but many people turn off the remote before the cycle has finished disengaging. let the movers return then wait until the movers go forward at least 5mm they will feel loose then turn off the remote
Thanks for your help this weekend, I was just about to launch the remote into outer space and kick the cr@p out of the motor mover when I found this video. I was wondering what the T handle was for 🤔
wow, when you put your tool in, you only put it in an inch or so, mine goes in about 6 in before i find the nut or screw. And mind just turns and turns without moving the mover???
Please advice, my lefthand Powrthouch motor is not engaging. However it dis-engage if I engage it manually with every try. I reset it as per your video but still not working.
We have power touch , Motor mover when we got our new to us van last November it did not work seemed to be no power and certainly no tool like you used any suggestions and where to get the tool from thank you 🙏
I had something similar when going away for the first time in months.....couldn't get anything to happen and just when I was driving out the storage yard to get new batteries for the remote it come to me..... turn the bloody main isolator on to the motor mover.
Muchas gracias
