That noise/rasp will turn into a cabin drone when cruising on a highway. Not sure if your ears can tolerate it, but if not, there is no way to get rid of that except putting back the stock axleback.
I heard this before you can hear this weird high pitched after the revs go down. I think it’s due to the exhaust flow from the PPE you’ll get that sound.
Yea it sucks. I can hear its still there, but luckily its muffled to the point where I'm not bothered by it, im just upset I lost the beautiful sound it had prior to the headers
HighRollinSoCal for real man I consider getting these for my 3is 250 because of the “18HP” gain they said from dyno. But people have been complaining it’s high pitched and sounds more as a “civic”. And some people complained about drone and vibrations but that can be fixed with resonators etc. But these PPE headers are made for racing in the track.
@@vvsre760 closest thing I can relate it to is a 350z with a bad exhaust lmao... but that's exactly what I did to reduce it was installing resonators. And then further eliminate it by switching the midpipe back to stock. It's worth the performance boost for sure... I just miss the rumble
Mid pipe with a resonator can really help with a exhaust that has a ballast like an HKS high power did the same for my GS and sounded much better took rid of the rasp
I have the Nvidia mid-pipe and just saw your other video with the issue, I have a 07 gs so similar but different sorry to hear about the prob, good vids dude
Yea for sure, I had resonators installed which helped out a lot!!! But there was still the incorrect junction between the headers and the midpipe. It would make the worst noise ever. So low key I had to switch back to the stock mid
Thanks brother. Yea the video didn't do it justice, sounded bad ass up to a certain range and then it sounded like a horrible high pitched rasp. To give you an example, otw home from the shop after i got the header installed, some dude rode up next to me in a corvette and shook his head bro.... shook his head fam!!! Lol so I took that as a sign to get it fixed asap, lmao. The car could be amazing, but if it sounds messed up, it takes away from the whole experience brother.
Plus in the 2nd part to this video, I will include clips with the mid pipe off and you can really hear the rattle. I should be able to post it up by today or tomorrow. Gnarly bro!!! Thanks for watching 🙏
I have the same problem, and the drone in the car is crazy. I got the headers but I have a full Invidia exhaust system(Q300). The rasp is really loud. I’m think about doing a GREDDY exhaust system to quite the car down.
So i spoke to Paul @ ppe headers and the invidia mid pipe is the problem. I put on my stock midpipe and it fixed the problem like 85%. It cost me an extra 900$ to figure out this noise issue. As far as paying for resonators I didnt need, labor and all types of stuff.. plus the cost of the invidia midpipe, thats a 1600$ loss for no reason... I wish ppe would include fitment in their description if they KNOW that most people will have this exact issue. They described my problem before I was able to tell them my issue, so its clear they hear this happening more often than not.
So i wouldn't even waste my time if I were you bro. Stock mid pipe and any axle back... the ppe headers compared to the stock manifold have really think metal, so the engine noise and that rasp is amplified... you know why there isn't any fbo videos out there? Because the headers ruin the sound of any exhaust. Every fbo video I see, you can hear the rasp, no matter what echaust. Something I noticed...
HighRollinSoCal I got a 2013 is350 f-sport with the JoeZ catback true dual exhaust. Im a click away of ordering the PPE headers for some top end pull but at the same time I dont want that crazy drone/rasp. The invidia midpipe is way louder than the JoeZ midpipe
Would Ceramic Coating the Headers Help,Use to Have a Few 280 Z's & Underneath the Bonnet Would get So Hot,W/ Just Wrapping the Headers,Started Affecting the Injection. Ceramic Coated the Headers & Problem Solved.Coating Keeps the Heat Down Much Better than Wrapping
Wrapping is supposed to keep the heat in. Something about heat moving faster, not quite sure tbh. But I thought wrapping was to keep the heat in the headers
Letting you know...from old video you had misfiring...was told with high hp...you may have needed upgrade on your coil packs...that helps prevent misfiring
is the raspy noise you're talking about, drone? or is it different? I have the remark exhaust installed on my is and it has terrible drone around 2000-3000rpms. I was hoping if resonators would be the solution to the problem. Did the automotive place already have resonators in their shop or did you purchase that before hand?
@@highrollinsocal Ah okay thank you! I had asked Simon if they included the O2 conditioner with the ppe headers off their site and he said it’s illegal to run an O2 conditioner on any vehicle in the U.S lol. Asked if the tune would bypass it but no response yet. Thanks for the help, keep up the great work man. 🤙
@@dzionassi yea I had it flashed by rr racing. It was definitely fun. In my later videos I started having misfire issues with the tune. Long story short I took off the headers and tune, changed the intake. Currently looking for a custom tuner and if I cant find one by end of February, im probably going to try to buy the 2021 supra 3.0. Thats the goal.
Lol, not at all bro. So first off why would your midpipe have resonators and my invidia midpipe all of a sudden doesn't have them? Lmao. Its the same mid pipe!!! And then secondly; I had 2 vibrant resonators installed, but that wasn't the problem. Do you have headers? Ppe headers don't match up well with invidia midpipe. Its a known problem brotha. Without the headers I agree the invidia midpipe is nice 👌. But if you are fbo like I was then you would understand. There's a part 2 to this video also bud.
