Well buttercups are wild flowers so maybe the names represents Buttercups strong and wild actions and the buttercup belongs to a family of flowers called Ranunculaceae, which apparently means 'little frog' in Latin, which explains why she is green and not yellow (buttercups are yellow), you can tell i did a bit of research
If you watch the PPG movie there is some sort of an explanation, but she was the last to be named, so the professor just named her that because it also starts with a 'B'
So Much to say like: 1. LOL part 0:34 ... My brother is just like that 2. CUTE part 0:45 3. LOLLLL part 0:55 4. LOL part 1:17 .. if I did that to my hair I would probably look like Blossom 5. well professor named blossom blossom because of her derectnios and opening up to him, he named bubbles because of her bubbly personallity... she named buttercup because it also starts with a b

thanks for telling me, but Buttercup still doesn't seem a fitting name for her to me especially when you figure it's a flower and I think I know what flower it was because "butter" in Dutch is "boter" so I think "buttercup" in my motherlanguage is a "boterbloem" litterally that translates to "butterflower"
