PPMKI - Perhimpunan Penggemar Mobil Kuno Indonesia (Indonesian Vintage Car Enthusiasts Association) or PPMKI has successfully livened up Indonesia’s Independence Day commemoration with their convoy of red-and-white-themed classic cars.
This is PPMKI’s first appearance after being on hiatus in 2020. In 2021, Roni, the chairman of PPMKI Central, invited Kuno.id to contribute towards realizing his wish: to revive PPMKI Semarang. Hence in 2022, PPMKI Semarang is back with a new name: PPMKI Semarang Raya, with Anggara Juniar as its chairman.
The purpose of the name change into PPMKI Semarang Raya is to reach out to an even wider audience of classic car enthusiasts. Initially, the members of PPMKI Semarang were only made up of people from Semarang City. However, with the new name, all classic car enthusiasts with car number plates beginning with the letter H, which not only includes cars registered in Semarang City but also in Semarang Regency, Demak, Salatiga and their surrounding areas, can all be involved in this community.
This can be observed from the number of people being involved. There were 108 people attending the red-and-white-themed convoy, and 52 among them were new members! We are thrilled to see that more classic car enthusiasts have the chance to connect with each other in this community.
