This week we are going over the bustle hardware so you know what everything looks like + can get the most out of your bustle investment!
Every seamstress & alteration business has their way of sewing a bustle. When it comes to bustles, we like to keep it simple, easy to find and hardest to break.
Paige chose an American Bustle which is also called an Over Bustle.
The main point is slightly higher than the side points which creates angles vs a straight line.
For Paige's dress, there is a natural angle where the bustle is sewn so this plan makes sense!

Omgosh this is terrible.. so sorry this happened! I hope the burglars tuck toilet paper in their thongs on their wedding day & show in every pic!!! On another… good note lol your bustle tips are very good. We do this all the time & know generally where the bustle pts are likely to be but handing off to gals that are 1st timers. I try to put them along seam lines & use 1/8 in wide ribbon ties as markers underneath when possible. Practicing takes very little time & cuts a little craziness from bridesmaids duties. Tip: I had a gown this season that was the heaviest satin & widest cathedral train I’ve ever worked on. My beautiful bride that loves to dance was under 5 ft… about 90 lbs soaking wet. For extra strength to keep the train as secure as possible I used ribbons ties that I attached at the waist, then attached them again at their 9 pt positions & of course color coded the tips of the ribbon. ** I use permanent pastel fabric markers. They don’t show through & easily match up to tie. The train never budged & stayed tied all night !! ❤ Love you gals!!!
