I’m 13 and I want to get good at the drums. I watched the paradiddles, singles, and doubles videos.I’ve been practicing on my practice pad.And it made my arms burn but it help with my speed thanks for the help!!
Well done. You've got this. If you don't have a set try to play air drums lol. Try the simplest rythm. In the drum set you have to cross your hands. Your right hand will play left (high hat) and your left will play the snare bellow. Push your right foot to the ground to play the boot (bass) there's a lot of videos to show the simple rythm. I started when I was 13 too. It's totally worth it. Keep this up.
@@janiqburris5195 you're doing great. Learn the proper technique to hold the drum sticks. It will get you a long way. Learn the basic grooves and breaks and don't be scared to make your own. Just put your favorite song on and start playing! Also learn the paradiddles. R L R R L R L L Search it on RU-vid and practice that. It's the secret to drumming.
Ha! 59 and never played an instrument! Thank you for this. First day and I am picking it up. I can get to sixteenth notes. Great video. I hope there are more to follow!
OMG! My son and I are learning how to play drums and your style of “play along” really helps.. I hope you have more videos on other rudiments. Please! Thank you so much for this!
Hey Mike your material is FANTASTIC! I'm a novice drummer that was struggling with these damn paradiddles.. Countless youtube instructional videos later, I ran into your system... Similar to the three stroke roll... I have 3 words...WOW!! Thanks Dude!!
Your demonstration is Excellent. High stroke followed by two lower strokes nice…seen at faster tempos. I was taught that double strokes may be played at lower level closer to the drum be it rolls or paradiddles.
I’m a self taught drummer and have been playing years. I thought I’m going to get a practice pad and try get some basics down.. I can’t do 16th very well let alone 32! 😮 however I can see lots of potential ones I get it for new things.
Thank you so much for your lessons! It really helps me to start practising, because I don't know where and how to start! I wish you really good progress and art inspiring! And lot of money from your favourite deals!
OMG i love this so much, the fact that i can practice together with a video makes it so much better! Would you consider making practice-along videos like these with alternating accents?
I started learning drums 2 weeks ago. Today I could hold a paradiddle at 160 bpm after 2 weeks. The key was accenting the downbeat on 1, raising my stick after 2, and practicing to kpop music LOL.
Just raw practice, i cant even do 16th at the start but i keep practicing at slow tempo, control should come first and then speed comes naturally, i could hit 32nd pretty comfortably now Hope it helps😊
Is there a way/tricks/steps to get in the 32th notes with paradiddles and doubles. I've been practicing with these videos but can't keep up in the 32th notes
Im left handed and i can keep up with these but my right hand is just a tad weaker than my left making the strokes sound inconsistent. Off to find left hand strengthening routines
Hi Steve a suggestion I'm Brazilian and I would like to watch your videos but unfortunately I don't speak English you could put the subtitles in Portuguese ONLY A SUGGESTION
The tick tick sound is a Quarter note (¼) when you add a note between each tick tick sound it becomes 8 note, and if you add another total of 8notes again ut becomes 16th note and so on
