Centre Diff ON and TC was off ...... normally on soft sand. But could not get over this deep depression, so was advised to turn on the TC. (Centre Diff remain ON)
there is a difference between TC (computer brakes and not retard engine power) and ESP (stability control where computer brakes and cut engine power)- ESP should always be off (L4 and centrelock engaged it automatically happens, on prado 150 anyway). So first go, TC off, wheels spin in rut- second go, computer brake spinning wheel, therefore sends drive to wheel which still have enough traction to maintain forward momentum
