My father and I visited Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 (known as Czechia 🇨🇿 and formerly Czechoslovakia) in early July 2016 and we stayed there for five days/nights. The city of Prague is absolutely beautiful. It has lots of wonderful historic buildings, landmarks and architectures such as castles, cathedrals, chuches, synagogues, Charles Bridge and clock towers. I just loved it over there. It's probably one of the most beautiful European cities in the world and it's one of my favourite European cities of all time as well. I'd love to visit Prague again sometime in the future. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪.

On the first day, we walked around the city at the evening. On the second day we went on a tour. We visited St. Vitus Cathedral. We saw Charles Bridge. We visited the clock tower and it has a great view of the city. On the third day we went to the zoo and we saw lots of amazing animals in there. We saw some guests bringing their dogs to the zoo! We thought we never saw anyone who brings their dogs to zoos before in our lives. On the fourth day we went to the National Museum and we also went to the Zizkov Television Tower (Czech: Žižkovský vysílač) The tower has an incredible view of a city of Prague so you can see all the buildings out there! On the last day, we went to garden and we went to the Greenhouse.

This video brings back fond memories of the charming Prague. A couple of notes, you didn't show any use of the streetcars and trams around Prague which are excellent and took me to the castle on the hill from the old town easily and cheaply. I also note that the bike tours around Prague were excellent and a great way to cover a lot of ground and save your feet somewhat. The local fare is quite hearty with gravies and cheaper cuts of meat and potatoes. Very good. The beer variety is excellent and you are in your element there. You make me want to return to Prague and enjoy once again, and get outside that city and see more of Czech Republic. Honest Guide has some excellent videos about Prague to check out for food, money changing etc.

Hey guys, video is nice, however you’ve missed a few tricks…….firstly, forget Starbucks! Prague has some amazing and cool independent coffee shops many of which have free to use toilets 😉. I see you visited Malostranska Beseda, one of my favourite pubs, although there is a secret area of the pub which is where I prefer to go. Taking an Uber in the city of Prague is almost unforgivable 😮. Prague public transport is very very cheap and reliable and the tram 22 would take you to the castle. As for hop on/hop off buses and those “old fashioned” cars, they are tourist traps. Completely overpriced and the public transport (trams, buses & metro) are far more enjoyable to use. Going to the bridge early morning is good advice indeed 😊, as is taking a late night stroll across the bridge after a nice day with your other half. Come back and visit again and I’ll ensure you’d enjoy it even more than you could imagine 👍😊

The foam on the beer will determine the bitterness /sweetness ratio: mlíko (milk) is the sweetest (all thick foam), šnyt has a nice balance (my favourite), hladinka (good with fatty food, most traditional), čochtan (American pour, hâte It)

Beautiful!!! I was just getting ready to go out and do some errands and then your vlog popped up and I had to watch. So, much for hurrying out to do errands. LOL! I really wish that I had ventured into Eastern Europe back in the day as some friends and coworkers did and found it very interesting. But, I was always living in Copenhagen for 10-11 weeks during the summers and it was far to travel to a lot of other places within Europe. Airfare , within Europe, back in the day was really expensive so trains were taken all over Europe. It's not like Europe had a Shinkansen train. Trains were slow. It would take me around 14-16 hours to just get to Paris as to get out of DK, the train would drive onto a ferry and cross a body of water to just get to the German side and then reconnect the train to continue. And there were usually delays. And traveling to Italy and then back up to Copenhagen really took forever as long as 30 hours depending on where in Italy. So, I couldn't imagine traveling to Eastern Europe by train. Folks are lucky that they can now fly as prices starting coming down more in the early 80s, I think it was. I now fly within Europe. I have friends and coworkers who ventured into Eastern Europe back in the day and found it very interesting. We were all a very well-traveled group; friends, coworkers, and family members. It was great as we'd exchange information of where to go, where to stay, and what to expect and especially before the internet and other tech came into existence. Keep having lots of fun! I continue to look forward to your vlogs. Now, to get some errands done. LOL! Greetings from Los Angeles

Quite easy to hop on and of the trams. Even took tram # 19 (I think) to the central train station and took a train to the central train station. We took a train to Dresden, Germany (about 2 hrs and 15 mins one way). Spent the day in Dresden and returned in the evening. You have to book your seats and go to the specific train compartment (carriage). The compartment #s are on the side. Pretty easy ride. Train moves about 100 kmph.

Tickets are easily purchased via the PID litacka App. I would also say that more tourist make it to Malostanska and Hradcany vs Old Town Square. You can also go to the golden lane for free after 5PM. The actually brewery tour in the town of Pilsen is more interesting since you can go into caves and drink unfiltered beer out of the barrel. The beer experience in Prague is also sorta cool. Vietnamese food is really good in Prague too. Glad you guys had a good trip.

Prague, Barcelona, Venice, the Louvre in Paris where I am at, etc - are places that are best visited late November/January/February. Sure the weather might suck, but you get a totally different vibe and space. Its also more obvious observing where the locals go to eat/drink and just follow.

Charles Bridge is definitely not the second oldest bridge in Europe, it is the second oldest in Czech rep. Písek stone bridge is the oldest. Considering Europe, there are bridges that date back to the Roman Empire, or even Republic, surpassing the Charles bridge by more than a thousand years.

Brewery tour in Prague when the brewery is in real at Pilsner. I don´t get it. It´s a kind of museum as they made for Guiness in Dublin, I guess. I didn´t know we have here this new tourist trap. But I am glad you liked it. I hoped you realy wanted to go to see some real brewery (into production). There are even in Prague (Staropramen at Smíchov for example), but there is definitely not Pilsner brewery.

Hi B and C! we love your videos! and we are on a countdown to retirement, yes we are ten years older than you...But we have learned so much from watching you. And we are excited for our travels ahead! We are wondering if you can tell us how much you spend on airfare/bus/train fare between cities. also how much are you paying to go from Washington state back to eu. are you booking one way tix? or are you planning all of your air/bus travel months in advance? Also is one of you in charge of booking transportation and the other in charge of booking accomodations? can you tell us the name of the air bnb you stayed in the Split area? and Brno and Prague. Cheers! Jenn

@BrianandCarrie 11 месяцев назад
Hi! We always love hearing when viewers have found our videos helpful, thank you! And Congrats on your retirement countdown - so exciting ☺. We do videos on our cost breakdowns that will let you know our final costs for each location we are in. Look for our cost breakdown in the next few weeks that will break down our 1-month journey through Central Europe, this will include all expenses we incurred. Our planning and how far in advance depends solely on location and time of year, some require forward planning due to availability, and others you can wait down to the last minute. I (Carrie) take care of all our travel arrangements - personally having one person in charge of this area makes more sense, as it's a lot of elements to be sure are lined up. If you are interested in any of the Airbnb's we stayed in, we put the link to those in the video description for the area we stayed - let us know if there is one you are unable to locate. Cheers 🍻

Really, most of Czech traditions are very older than republics and republicanism. The word "republic" doesn't fit to the word "traditional", unless you mean new traditions from 1920s.

@@breznik1197 Agree I can trace my ancestors bac to 13th century there, rewad everything I can find in English about history, traditions, recipes. Some of the food they eat now as traditional is the resultant holdover from shortages where they had to make due during German dominance, occupations and sattelite influence. Christmas Carp is a good example. Nation States are a 18 and 19th century phenemona, thus Names of beloved Bohemia and Moravia regions changed with politics.

You do not have to pay for toilets. Just be a customer. That means you buy something, or you go into one of the larger malls, where toilets are free. That means the places are sanitary and without a hobo, because someone is responsible.
@BrianandCarrie

We went into two large malls thinking that they would be free but still had to pay and by being a costumer and paying for something to use the restroom for free you are still paying to use the restroom.

I don’t know man.. looks like you guys are just falling for the typical tourist traps. I’m just not inspired about this kind of travel anymore. Tired of looking at people and concrete structures. I’d rather just do a tour of American national parks.
@BrianandCarrie
@BrianandCarrie Год назад
We can understand that. We have just arrived in Florance and explored Tuscany yesterday, it was nice being in the country. A friend of mine just went on a road trip around the U.S. West Coast. Camping, hiking, National Parks, all that. Everything had to be booked in advance and some parks they couldn't even get into. Apparently, Yellowstone had a 14-mile lineup just to get into the park. We do get inspired by Argentina and Patagonia, and we will make it in that direction one day. Maybe that would inspire you!?! 😃 Anyway, thanks for watching. Cheers!!🍻

@@BrianandCarrie National parks are busy in the summer, thus I don’t travel anywhere in July and August. I did the Rockies in 2019 from Big Sky, Montana to Las Vegas Nevada going through Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon in late September. It was fine. What made it even more fun is that I slept in my rental minivan inside the parks for free throughout the trip. I did most of Europe last couple of years many times over and I’m looking for something new other than just the typical crowded beaten paths. I have a flight late Sep that puts me in London. I’m not going to London to see London, just making it a departure hub because the flight was so cheap from Fort Lauderdale. It was under $200 one way. So, I’m brainstorming where to go once I get to London. I’m exploring those countries ending in STAN. I’m hearing those are still taboo for the average traveler and I don’t want to be an average traveler.
