My husband and I had one and we named him Buzzer, he was a joy to have around, and Yahoo all the time and we loved him very much. He is in animal heaven with all the other wonderful animals.
Buzzer is indeed with the Lord. The Lord loves His creation. People are additionally made in His image. Unlike animals, we need to get to the Cross, embracing forgiveness for our sins, then living for Christ as King of our lives. The Lord's Resurrection offers us eternal life with Him in His new creation. Expect Buzzer and the other animals to be there. Pray for folks who don't know the Lord! Trust Him fully. His love is amazing!
i read that they're extremely social creatures and require many hours of love and attention everyday from owners, if they are domesticated. they also benefit from having another friend to hang out with. i imagine they mostly thrive domestically living with people who have more than a typical amount of time to dedicate to them
They absolutely do live in social&family groups& definately benefit from being in groups, having just 1is not beneficial for them at all&definitely would need to basically be with them constantly
Cute little critters but yeah a lot of work also most people don't know Prairie Dog towns still contain the Plague and they are not considered safe or legal pets in most countries.
Yes, my ex boyfriend had one as a pet and I would hate it cz he kept his prairie dog in a cage all day and wouldn’t let her out. I felt so bad but she died a little later. I don’t think he realized that he was technically neglecting her and she died of loneliness.
@@1ManNamedDanokay, so I had to look that up. _Wild_ prairie dogs are indeed common "carriers" (actually, it's their fleas) of plague, but I'd caution that there's no reason to hold that against those kept as _pets_ - unless you'd be so idiotic as to attempt prairie dog-snatching in the wild.
Search RU-vid for Is prairie dogs interacting. This is how they communicate, scientists say they have. A really developed language. Different yips and whoops mean different things. It's actually pretty interesting they're really Neat little critters!
@@Aaron-zu3xn They even have a different sound for people too. And different sounds for different predators. They're pretty amazing, little creatures!😊
That "yahoo" is so damned cute. Cowboy squirrels, I'm certain. Very cute but anything that likes that much attention is always a lot of work. Very rewarding but still work. Hats off to you!
@@jonahdavis9206Alot of the other comments on this short don't seem to reflect that, want vs need the fam tells me. And then you got the clear impulse buyers..
If these creation is real - the Creator is real (GOD). Imagine the 1st day on earth.. when earth was 1 day old... somebody made the first tree, first animal, first humans.. He made a lot water for us all, because we need a lot of water on earth... all animals drink water, all humans, all plants, trees, grass, air needs water, etc.
❤ I had 2 also -Choo Choo & Amber- and every time I coughed or called their name they would “yipee” . They would do this in the wild as a way of saying “no danger,” like if a hawk or coyote were near, their warnings are a “chippy” noise and they wiggle their tail’s really fast before retreating into the burrows. They are truly smart and so affectionate but if they don’t like someone they surely let you know! ❤
@@perfectstormofdreams2808 20+ years ago, scientists determined they have a known vocabulary of approximately 200 "words". Regarding warning "barks", they made different sounds for what they saw. Humans vs. dogs vs hawks. Human males vs.female. Primary colors worn. Direction of travel and speed. It's astounding.
We are way less advanced than we think we are (or allowed to be). It's pretty clear all species communicate in ways that we are oblivious to. Plants, included.
Any animal is a lot of work. Sometimes you just need to have a big enough heart to love them even if they don't love you back. These guys definitely show their love.
@@faithbudnerelad1089 I was halfway joking with that comment. But there are people who give animals too much credit and thinking that all animals are just full of love, but the truth is that lots of animals are self centered narcissistic a-holes. Rats come to mind, they make great pets , but they also have a very dark side, and seem to be one of the most self centered animals. I can't find the article now, but I was reading about dolphins who bully and torcher another animal just for entertainment, I forget what kind of animal it was that they was doing this to.
Too damned cute❤ I'm glad you made sure to say they're not for everybody because people see cute fur babies and get them without doing the proper research. We have our boy, a chinchilla, and our little girl, a Netherlands dwarf bunny. They are a big responsibility, but also, soooo worth it!
Thank you for sharing! And for helping them thrive. Im glad you say that they are a lot of work bcuz so many just think about the fun and cute not the work and commitment you need to have for animals like these cuties.
Ive only recently discovered these Prairie Dog videos. Such adorable little critters. I do appreciate you stating that they are a lot of work. So many people will get lost in their cuteness, get one, then realize how much work is involved, and being the shallow person that most are, they will abandon them.
I’m glad she got two of them! Prairie dogs are very social with their own species, much more than cats and dogs and they generally will not do well alone
Woweee First, I love you And no seconds here, ok. I have been fascinated with prairie dogs for, Forever !!!!! Now, you have allowed me to see them up close and All of their beauty. No doubt they are a handful!!! Thank you, just thank you. You are awesome
They're so cute!! And I'm glad you talked about how they're a lot of care and aren't for everyone and are rescues, that way people aren't trying to just impulsively get one they don't realize they won't be able to actually care for 🥺 So if i wanna see cute lil prairie dogs I'll just stick to watching them on the internet lol
They are absolutely adorable. So precious. Your such a blessing to these precious little creatures. Thank you for caring for them and loving them so much ❤❤❤
So precious. Im a truck driver since 1980. I remember back in the day, the road in Wyoming would have hundreds of thousands of prairie dogs everywhere. It was unavoidable. So many flattened like pancakes. 😢
I am a hunter but I never got into prairie dog hunts. I know in some areas they are considered a "pest" and that's why they are hunted but I never could get behind hunting when nothing can really be done with what you have hunted, you are basically at that point just killing. Yes I hunt but I will not even kill a bug in my home I always throw them outside. There is no way I would only hunt for the sport of it, honestly I was never really big on big game hunting either. I'm not a vegetarian so I thought hunting was something I should know how to do and also experience, I also grew up on a farm butchering chickens and turkeys so I can get my hands dirty if need be but how could someone just kill one of these sweet little things for no reason?! All I see is people on the internet saying they would love one as a pet so why doesn't the government start an adoption plan instead of killing them for sport?! You know what I mean? Why not just domesticate them?
It's so sad there's many gun enthusiasts, that have sadly gone shooting prairie dogs. Because they could. Such unforgiving cruel world. I'm happy today because of this video.
PSA : Typically, Prairie Dogs carry the bubonic plague, so don't take this video as an excuse to go capture and tame some from your nearby grasslands. You can safely assume these particular fuzz nuggets have been inoculated against that already.
Unfortunately people are gonna run out there like they're catching some damn Pokemon to live in suburban hell, maybe get eaten or slobbered on by a dog.
