That's kind of a two-part deal. Credit to Matthew Zuk and Riley Shanahan for bringing the physical aspects of Negative Man and Robot Man to life, and credit to Matt Bomer and Brendan Fraser for the phenomenal voice work.
@@ChimeraFilms funny enough i could see something like wandavision happening on doom patrol as in, just based on Cliff's "Steel & Stone" imagination, an episode could be about cliff being transported to said show, withthe rest (rita, flex, larry, jane, dorothy. even danny and clara) in different roles in said show. and cliff slowly discovering something is wrong the episode could be calle "Steel & Stone Patrol"
I feel like the problem with Titans is the fact that DC seems like they want to use continuity from...Something. There's obviously a big story that we're not sure if we've seen or not, because DC likes to beat around the bush with the big characters. They don't want to go with Batman, but they want to use Batman as a big part of the backstory. So, it feels like it can't make up it's mind which way it wants to go. Which is really holding it back. Plus, there just seems like there is too much going on that they can't make up their minds whether they want to do it or not. If you still haven't seen Swamp Thing....It's a hard one to recommend. The first four or five episodes feel like they're straight out of an AMC drama or a CW teen show. A lot of soap opera-esque things going on with a swamp monster in the background. Somewhere around the middle of the series, they decided to rely heavy on the Alan Moore Swamp Thing comic run, which is about as good as Swamp Thing gets. But, for some bizarre reason, even though they have the rights to all of their characters, DC keeps beating around the bush and avoiding using some characters and sticking others in their place. John Constantine becomes some Cajun paddling a boat around the swamp. The Phantom Stranger is just some movie producer. And they swapped Blue Devil in for Etrigan the Demon. It's not terrible at that point. I'm just not sure why they're doing those things. And it ends with a lot of unanswered questions, but I'm pretty sure there are no plans for any more episodes. I just buy them on DVD rather than subbing to their service, and whereas Doom Patrol and Titans always have Season 1, 2, etc., Swamp Thing says: The Complete Series. Ok. Now to Doom Patrol. I just bought Season 2, so I wanted to refresh myself on Season 1. And I can honestly say it got to me more in the re-watch than it did the first time I saw it! And I loved it the first time. For what it's worth, I'm a straight white dude, but I won't lie. I got teary eyed a bunch of times watching Seasons 1 and 2! They know how to hit you right in the feels! These characters feel like REAL PEOPLE! They have likes, dislikes, they hurt, they're happy. When they're sad, you can feel the sadness. And when they get a little triumph, you just want to shout: "You go! Good for you!" This show is POWERFUL! It WILL get emotions out of you. It's such a diverse group of characters and it doesn't feel forced. And it does draw heavily from the Grant Morrison run, as well as Rachel Pollack's (Who doesn't get anywhere enough credit). What I love about Doom Patrol going from comic to tv is the fact that they don't try to adapt it directly or just throw everything out but a few names and do whatever the hell they want to. They get the characters and the gist of the comic stories and then they translate what works best to tv. You get the feeling of the comic, just not a panel to panel adaptation. Which is where so many comic movies and tv shows fail. Doom Patrol is top notch and I hope to see many more seasons of it. I loved Season 1 and was a little concerned for Season 2. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that they still had plenty of weirdness and plenty of character development to explore. A lot of shows I love have a great beginning but totally lose it. Like Heroes. That first season is almost a perfect tv show. But the second just collapses. And, yes, you can blame the writer's strike. But it just couldn't pull it out when it came back with Season 3. Sometimes you can see there was just a great overall plot, but the characters didn't have any motivation than to get to the end of the first season. Doom Patrol just kept right on going with Season 2 and I suspect Season 3 will continue to be good. The writers seem to be more focused on the characters than just any single plot. And that can give a show life. When you genuinely care about characters, you'll tune in for their stories. Finally, one other thing I love about Doom Patrol that most shows I watch now are sorely lacking...Episodes that have little or nothing to do with THE PLOT! For instance, the CW DC shows. Maybe not at the beginning, but now for sure, all of those shows just go for an overarching plot and each episode MUST further that plot! No room for filler! Just show the main villain in the first episode of the season. And the second episode will show the hero defeat them. Then the villains escapes prison and does something horrible. And then the hero puts them back in jail. Ad infinitum until the last episode of the season. It get SO old! But Doom Patrol will throw in episodes that don't have a damned thing to do with anything....Other than to let some of the characters bounce off of each other and to move their CHARACTER forward! To show us something new and interesting about them that we didn't expect. And when the villain shows back up, we're not sick of seeing them! Like Mr. Nobody in Season 1. We know he's there because of the narration. But we don't have him shoved down our throats every episode. You never know what is going to happen! And I LOVE that. Today's tv is just very predictable. And it always has been. In different ways. But I love the fact that Doom Patrol does it's own thing. And, just for the record, it's sad that the Doom Patrol, which has nothing to do with Cyborg in the comics other than he's friends with Beast Boy, who was a member, has actually been able to do a good version. Titans doesn't have him. Justice League has no idea what to do with him. They're just trying to go for diversity and instead of doing John Stewart as an African American Green Lantern, they chucked Cyborg in. But the people at Doom Patrol really GET Cyborg! And Joivan Wade is doing a heck of a job portraying him. Honestly, Doom Patrol just has an awesome cast! With the good writing and the equally good acting, they creators are really bringing those characters to life! Honestly, Doom Patrol is just too good of a show to be stuck in HBO Max land or a streaming DC platform. This should be seen by a much larger audience! But, at least we're getting an awesome show for the ages and I hope it goes on for more seasons to come! Honestly, in my opinion, Doom Patrol may be the best super hero show ever filmed!
Titans chooses a robin to be violent and don’t choose Jason then they choose a younger robin with a violence ark and don’t choose Damian and in the Jason ark they don’t show him turn violent like the wonderful under the red hood movie and I’m glad doom patrol is a different universe
Thank you for your thoughtful and candid comparison between DC properties, and why Doom Patrol won your heart. I am late to discovering this show (Q3 of 2022 thanks to a friend who thought a certain karaoke song might resonate with me), and the love and thought that has gone into Praise Patrol videos like yours has been a real treat.
As someone that is typically meh on DC stuff, I loved these two seasons. It was just grounded enough to give a certain center to the characters but not so much that Danny the Street feels out of place. The characters and the actors are everything here. Jane's arc gets a little during the whole trip inside but Diane's acting keeps you drawn in the whole time. Same thing for Larry.
It's a great show! I think that you'll never get sick of it because they always change it up.I love the characters and the story about each one as well as some of the crazy things you're going to see and I wish Danny the street was a real place. As a misfit due to disabilities I'd love to see that place.

Omg thank you for your opinion on titans! I watched it all and the whole time I was like man…this just is not good! Everybody in it is certainly incredibly attractive…but otherwise Lol. Doom patrol was instantly noticeably better, I agree. Season two was a bit of a drag though for me

I'd argue it's more comparable to Daredevil, as it's less of a deconstruction of superheroes and more of a superhero story that puts the spandex and set pieces on the backburner.
@@ChimeraFilms Agree. The Boys fundamentally portrays all superheroes as villains waiting to happen. Doom Patrol find humanity even in most of its human villains (not so much in it's inhuman villains).
