@cowhorse4146
@cowhorse4146 7 месяцев назад
Literally anyone who cubes could figure it out
@iarmycombo5659
@iarmycombo5659 7 месяцев назад
@@cowhorse4146 he was every quick with it though. Any1 could count it from literally making 0 moves by seeing where the corner pieces would have to go, and if it takes an odd number of moves in total for all the corners, its impossible, as when you move 1 corner, you have to move another 1 as well, there is no algorithm for only 1 corner move, so if it doesnt have an even amount of moves its an impossible state without moving stickers. You dont have to solve the corners, you just have to assume a 1 of them is in the correct place and how many moves you would need to move the other corners to the places they now would have to be in when u assume 1 corner is right. Moving any of the other corners is no problem, just count it like your only objective would be to get that 1 corner in the one corner in correct orientation. The way he saw it wasnt the simple way, but he most likely just went by recognizing the algorithm its supposed to be like normal but realizing its none of them, and it happened in less than 2 seconds. Most cubers would just think they are forgetting one of them even if they are using way more simplified algorithms compared to felix.

Omg, every cuber knows there are unsolvable cube configurations. Feliks recognized the unsolvability at the latest at the PLL-stage - he didn't fail, at all. His reaction "Can't do it" is just his well-known modesty. Btw, swapping just 2 corners yields a cube that can't be solved (by regular turning of layers). Then the cube is not in the solvable group (--> group theory, a part of abstract algebra). Likewise, if you swap the 2 "stickers" like in the video, the cube isn't (optically) solvable, because now there is a corner piece that doesn't even exist on sticker-less cubes: It's a mirror of the "real" corner piece (--> chirality).

If you take a solved cube, there is no amount of turning moves to jumble it up that makes it unsolvable.

you dont need a lego cube to do this. You can just pop out a piece from a regular one and put it in backwards.

If he picked the right color, you can tell in a few seconds. It's actually pretty simple. Anyone who knows how to solve a cube can tell. The key is the center colors don't move respective to each other.
