Allen Pote has skillfully set this lovely text with a warm, flowing melody that is sure to inspire a spirit of peace and unity. ALLEN POTE (b. 1945) was born in Halstead, Kansas, and educated at Texas Christian University, where his diploma was in Church Music. A Fulbright Scholar, he studied in Brussels, Belgium, and took advanced work at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. For twenty-two years he served as a full-time Director of Music in churches in Texas and Florida. He is currently a full-time composer living in Pensacola, Florida.

It reminds me of my choir days with the Philippine Normal University Chorale. This was the for choir piece that i have learned as a new member then wayback 1994.

The conductor is Gary R. Schwartzhoff. I attended a concert by the Master Singers of Eau Claire with Dr. Schwartzhoff conducting 4 hours ago in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
I recall our choir, St. Joseph Voice Choir had sang this song with a similar arrangement in a concert. This was really such a hard song for us then because we only had very few members and had a limited time then. I just didn't hear the soprano descant part on this version yet this is another masterpiece.

The difference between Phil choir singers and Western choralists is that the 2nd one can perform with more vocal technique and dynamics- wise but....they don't use hand signs like we do and no sitting down when singing which makes the Madrigal singers the most unique in the world!
We are all one, in the flux of history with the same gods, martyrs, crooks and commons. Thankfully, there are choirs like these being the devoted messengers of there being kinder hearts to be nourished.
