Sadly there is a difference between godly sorrow/repentance, and admitting you made a mistake, a sin, yet won't repent, accept the consequences, show any remorse or sorrow for the sin. It would have been like King David admitting he sinned but then saying he doesn't want to talk about it, be remorseful and humble himself. Like the prodigal son saying to his father "I have sinned" but showing no remorse or repentance, instead making a list of demands on how he should be treated. That is not repentance. Repentance requires humility, no demands of others how they should treat you. That's what I am going through with my daughter over her big sin. She said "sorry" but has never shown any repentance or humility.
