2.19.23 | by Adam | MANHATTAN - A pedestrian was critically struck by a car. It happened at 3:35 am Sunday southbound on the FDR before 23rd St. The car stayed on the scene. A large truck initially protected them from traffic. The windshield had a hole in it. Upon arrival of first responders they found the victim on top of the car with his feet on the roof and the rest of the body and head facing the rear of the car. FDNY and EMS rushed him to hospital unconscious with no CPR performed. The driver and his girlfriend appeared to be in distress, crying, and the driver also seemed to be concerned with the damage that was done to his car. Traffic was initially shut down and one lane was freed up eventually.
