Marshmellow that gets armored with a very Iron Man-esk armor, and in the movie has a Hulk-out experience that looked a lot like the scene where Hulk chased Black Widow in the first Avengers movie.
I guess it's actually kind of rich how upset he was over the whole 'Carol Danvers getting basically graped after being mind-controlled by her time son and leaving to his mystical cosmic sex dungeon as The Avengers clapped and cheered' thing. Like, yes, that was horrific, but maybe don't throw stones in glass houses
Seeing Honey Lemon just steal Mr Fantistic's gun from across the universe was pretty hilarious. Would have loved to have seen Mr Fantastic puzzling over what just happened.
Big Hero 6 and the Incredibles deserve a full ongoing comic treatment, either from Marvel or someone else. Such rich universes that deserve way more story that could be told way better in comics than in films.
Big Hero 6 doesn't have it's own universe it's part of Marvel. But I completely agree with the Incredibles! It would be amazing if some comic company continued or expanded the story's in that universe!
"Looks like Big Hero Six is exclusively a Disney thing, and won't be returning in their original form." Based on the plot of the originals, this might just be a good thing.
Remember when the main villain of this film lost his daughter, so he then burned down a building of his own students as part of his revenge plan? How could you not feel sympathy for this man?
They could've kept the OP superpowers in there and then used the writing in the original movie. It would've worked flawlessly and then they could've moved it over to the Disney XD series.
As soon as he was mentioned, I was worried that was the reason they couldn't use the property, cause there is another story about someone stealing the stand idea for a comic book and that did not go well.
@@dragontyron If i remember in a interview Honey Lemon's VA says she says Hiro's name correctly because Spanish pronunciation of Hiro is closer to Japanese Pronunciation.
5:00 "Mama-san" refers to madam of cabaret or bar (almost always women advanced in age). Guy normally will prefer gifts from young hostesses, thus the joke. So don't go around calling mums 'Mama-san' X-D
It would be hard to pick which version i'd preffer, Disney's Honey Lemon is WAAAAY mor einteresting, specially her purse, but then... Fred was a STAND USER, its really hard to topple that
@@KoPLeaderKiactu I mean, having a quirky selfie taking scientist who made a purse sized chemical factory is way more interesting that a bag of holding
@@grizzlymanverneteil4443 Exactly. It's what I like to call the Lola Bunny situation. Where one character's iteration is just as important as the other but different. Lola Bunny in Space Jam exuded sexuality while the Lola in the cartoon show was quirky
I was lucky to know but only because I was looking for manga/anime related/inspired materials in Marvel when I learned about DC's Ame-Comi universe/mini-series.
Well you're right. I mean "Honey Lemon" - "Cutie Honey" Go Go Tomago - Mach Go Go Go (Speed Racer's actual name) And Baymax is a mecha-kaiju... It sounds awesome. But again, probably because Marvel wasn't promoting this characters properly they became another background character
@@nucleonegro9762 I was also surprise about big hero 6 started out as a marvel comic back then and also about Stan being in the movie I was also surprise and puzzled why he was there but I thought maybe because it was a super hero style movie also come on he cameo in teen Titans go and he doesn't care if it's a DC movie he loves cameos so ya haha
So basically Disney took a borderline dumpster fire Marvel series, threw out most of it, and made a fun animated movie that mostly relates through name only. Well, I guess it’s like they say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, but if it’s in pieces, on fire and unstable on a quantum level, throw that shit into the void and start over.”
Captain LastrEo probably someone from the future after they yeeted the burning shards of an interdimensional box into an amalgam of dead universes after stumbling across a record of my comment, and then telepathically sending back the idea to me so that I could comment this and create a stable time loop.
Well they had similarities still. Baymax was a robot, Honey Lemon had a super purse, Wasabi had his green laser blades, and gogo has her outfit and speed
Is it a Stand? yes Is it a JoJo Reference? That's tricky. Because JoJo is so loved in Japan a lot (i mean A LOT) of series use similar concepts at least in one character. Shaman King are spirits but mostly works as stands, the Persona series, HunterxHunter, the Susanoo technique in Naruto, BLEACH has also a character with a Stand-like ability.
those stupid reference comments wanna make go on hunting with just a knife and six shooter and see how many animals I can kill before the cops start snooping around the forest
Thank you so much for making this video. Enjoyed the hell out of it! And I especially appreciate the kind words about my art. Was very early in my career and not necessarily my finest hour, but I'm still pretty fond of it. Glad it worked for you too. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Your art in these early books very much felt like a love letter to classic anime which I think meshed really well with the tone that it was trying to go for overall. Been loving your recent work too!
You want pyramids? Power purse Oh you’re into castles huh? Power purse You want some pets? POWER PURSE! We! Got it! All! THIS COMIC IS STILL RELEVANT GODDAMMIT!
Want a power purse? Take one out of the power purse! DOUBLE POWER PURSE! Thanos can just can it with his power gauntlet. Tits and power purse rules the Universe.
10:52 For the JoJo people (including myself): This dude has a stand! For the Persona people (also including myself): This dude has a persona! Thank you and good night.
'So, what Marvel properties can we adapt into a Disney animated movie?' 'Well, we've got this boob-centric thing with a hentai-like bondage scene...' 'Perfect!'
Stand : [YOU DINOSAUR THING] User : Fred Power: A Speed: B Range: C Durability: A Precision : B Development Potential: E Ability: Causes a lawsuit whenever it is activated, forcing the user to be removed from existence. The timeline is than rewritten without the user having ever existed. Only beings from outside the universe can observe this effect; often resulting in memes.
Disney : We give you budget for diverse saga of superhero , but we'll take this useless comic series and make as our originals MCU : *huge success* Big Hero 6 : *huge success* Me : "I see this as absolute win"
Oh really? I'll blast you out of _The World_ and use the power of _The Hand_ so you can get the _Golden Experience_ until you get hit by a _Silver Chariot_ .
Whole comment section filled with nothing but casual plebs spouting Jojo memes, but no one has pointed out that Honey Lemon's Power Purse is pretty much a Doraemon's Fourth Dimension Pocket.
I have been curious on why I haven't seen any new Big Hero 6 comics and that would explain why. So the series is not really a Disney/Marvel hybrid and more of Disney takeover.
I'll admit, I didn't click on the video because of the thumbnail. I was curious how different this was (also, it proves that I was right when I told my friend that the Big Hero 6 world in KH3 is more Disney than Marvel. +1 for Felman).
I like THAT in the thumbnail as much as the next guy, but I genuinely wanted to get information on how the comic and movie differed. And after watching the movie and looking at other videos related to the comics, I noticed that the fan service is pretty obvious.
@@danielramsey6141 dude you can't have a literal invisible stand and not expect a ton of JoJo comments. Just like you can't have a character who shoots webs and not have a lot of Spiderman references. Rule of references
I get that jojo is the obvious reference with Fred, but honestly it reminds me a lot more of blue dragon anime which started aired on cartoon network about a year prior to the big hero 6 reboot was released
Imagine if Marvel Studios would have a movie about this, inspired with the original comics or the 2000's new comics, but despite of having a weird plot in comics, the movie would be so great. Like what GOTG expected as worse, but became on the top best MCU movies
I am not surprised by the Chris Claremont run being so weird. He is actually known for that in the comic book community. I remember reading in a trade paper back of some of his collected works that he would send in side stories all the time of things like "The Adventure of Lupe, Loki's Illegal Immigrant Maid", for editors to sift through the non-sequitur until they found the real work.
Okay, so first, that is utterly hilarious that on the alien planet busty blondes are clearly the stereotype for brainy nerds. But second, that "so sorry" catchphrase is a joke based on their Japanese origin. Yeah, it's kind of a racist joke. You may be too young to know about this, but the racist impersonation of a Japanese person used to be squinting the eyes while saying, "ah, so solly." So, do with that what you will.
'Nobody reads the handbooks' I feel personally attacked right now! But really, it's weird for the handbooks to add new information beyond a surname or height etc. Unless, as the handbook writers often do, they receiving said information from the creators/writers of the characters. Either way, it's bizarre.
Im watching this after the New Warriors announcement....and the power purse is literally Trailblazers power but like 100x better, both in terms of execution and its user
God fucking dammit. Seriously, did thousands of you people at one time literally all independently think that each of you were being original or clever by POUNDING the comment section with that garbage meme? -_-
Pauly Poobrain It's a power from Anime series JoJo's Bizzare Adventure that is manifested as a creature (usually humanoid) that is visible only to people that have a Stand themselves.
Lol I always knew before watching this vid the first time I watched big hero 6 Fred's mansion and his family pics caught my attention espicially his love for hero's and villians
Wait, Silver Samurai was involved with Wolverine and the X-men? Was he the old japanese soldier guy in "The Wolverine" who uses a giant samurai mech-suit at the end?
I really like the Big Hero 6 animated movie, so thank you for telling me where I can find more Big Hero 6. Hope the show gets a complete season 1 release soon. The history of this team is very interesting, and I think you did a good job conveying it. Great video Drake!
IMO, Chris Clairmont was never as good at humor or whimsy as he thought he was but the success of Excalibur in the 80's kind of emboldened him to do humor stuff on occasion. So I think C.C.'s BH6 was an honest attempt at whimsy/parody complete with humorous catchphrases. That's about the nicest thing I can say about it. The stuff Clairmont did in the latter part of his career has been fairly consistently awful.
