Hi Wes, has anyone experienced loss of power due to defective ESC causing loss of power to a fan. I had 2 flights where I encountered this issue pulling to the left. After landing I did routine check of power, control surfaces rates and all appeared well. On its third flight just after takeoff the plane reached procedure turn height. The left esc had to go to zero causing a catastrophic counterclockwise spin into the bay for total loss and unrecoverable. I contacted customer support for their understanding, so this issue doesn't continue. There only respond was you win some and lose some attitude with a generic response terrible to RC community. Even with that I purchased the new V3 F16 don't ask me why? Customer service must not actively fly RC or just don't care to understand the issue. I'm flying RC models +30 and still compete in Advance AMA Pattern, and I was an original nitro ducted fan pilot. This was not in any way pilot error. I hope this is not a chronic issue, and just one of a kind. Your respond would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you
I am very impressed so far with this model. I fly almost exclusively EDF Warbirds. Looks like a solid model with great attributes from controls to looks. Potential buyer for sure. Cheers
I really need to know if a 70mm edf set-up will go in it . Because I rather get ARF one because I have some I would like to use from the (V2 FMS A-10 TWIN 70MM) so will it be a small mod to drop that in this ?
I thank you for the advice I’ll just buy both of the tomcat f14 and just have them on display until I can fly at the level of the tomcat F 14. Rc level
So you can put reverse on a toggle, got it. Cool. About the gyros, these guys that do all these mixes with the gyros and get it wrong, is that why their putting their planes in the dirt?
Hey guys just a tip I ordered from MotionRc Lemons 10ch with telemetry and gyro receiver bc the lemons or motionrc dont have a 9 chan receiver so dont activate the gyro on the receiver just use it as a 10ch receiver you wont need 10 just 9 if you want reverse thrust on it. You cant have two gyros on the bird for it to work. The new gyro is awesome you will get if you set it to 3 switch: No Gyro, Stabilazion or if you use to Spektrum a AS3X mode and Self leveling like they have on a spektrum safe/as3x receiver its great MotionRc has come up with this to install in there planes like FMS did with there Reflex system to counter act the HH tech. Excellent job MotionRc👍👍👍👍👍
You mentioned using a gyro receiver and just switching off functions. On spektrum don’t use AS3X/SAFE receiver and inhibit functions as it works fine with landing gear down. However when you raise gear weird things happen with elevators and ailerons. Just my advice
Thats a RX/TX issue, nothing to do with the plane. Do you have the reverse thrust plugged in? No idea what protocol you are using as it could be numerous things with your specific RX/TX
@@MotionRC sleep deprived brain plugged the comunnectors in upside down. Everything is working now. Just need to adjust the flaps and verify leveling and gyro settings.
@@MotionRCguys I have a question about CG, on the airplane there is 2 CG marks: 1 on the fuselage and 1 on the wing area, if I do CG With fuselage mark and then use wing mark it will be tail heavy and viceversa if a do CG with wings mark and then confirm with fuselage mark it will be nose heavy. I’M CONFUSED wich mark should give me the right CG on this airplane ??
I’ll purchase the tomcat f 14 sometime soon I have a spectrum transmitter dx 6e so do have to purchase it with the transmitter that comes with the both tomcat F 14 models
So, the flaps are locked out with the wings swept back... so what happens if you have the flaps down (with the wings swept forward), and you sweep the wings back with the flaps down? Do the flaps automatically retract before the wings sweep back? Or do you need to remember to raise the flaps before sweeping the wings?
