I wouldve been checking into some cottages on Sanibel right now, for some of that epic Ding Darling and Blind Pass fishing...Now I'm just hoping that the islands are above water afterwards. I see videos where they use Mayan cichlids as bait for snook and the snook eat them almost immediately. Also I live probably 20 minutes from y’all in Port Saint Lucie and the storm isn’t even close in Floridians standards😂 it’s just barely raining and it’s almost up to Tampa. We just had a massive Hurricane bear down on Canada's East Coast, and Maine as well. Hurricane Fiona has done a lot of damage out there. I'm praying and hoping that you and yours are all safe and stay out of harms way with that inbound storm. In Lake County Florida we didn't get the full force of the hurricanes but we got some nasty storms , rain so hard you couldn't see the street and BOOMING lightening that seemed to strike every minute . In case you never heard Orlando ..told by meteorologist is the lightening capital in the US. I grew up in Oklahoma where we have had F4 , F5 and bigger tornadoes and Florida storms are almost as bad in Central Florida . I'm praying for you all...stay safe and let's hope this isn't a bad year for weather . PK

I'm an old Boomer Sooner myself. Lived all over the U.S. From Oklahoma to Texas, Alaska, back to Oklahoma, back to Alaska, Wyoming, back to Alaska, Florida, back to Alaska and now Washington state. But nothing, beats an Oklahoma thunderstorm. Duncan Oklahoma 1960-68. We get very little lightning here in western Washington, and even less in southcentral and southeastern Alaska. Once though, while asleep on a floating logging camp in southeast, the entire camp, (about 60 people) were rudely awakened at about 0200, by a KABOOM! And all we saw was a blinding flash at the same time. Wow. We were not expecting that. I bet everyone there still remembers it. c1987

That’s a great fish and I was so glad to see how you handled it when you thought he had lost it, after all it’s just a fish. Best bass I ever caught was 7lb 9oz and I was in high cotton. I have lost a few that I believe to have been bigger but I guess I will never know. That’s why we keep fishing.

I like in Crystal River and just got my power back on about 3 hours ago. It went out last night before I got to watch your video. We didn't get like massive damage in Crystal River, but our power got knocked out for around 19 hours. I feel for those that took the direct hit, It caused major damage to those counties. Keep them all in your prayers.

TIME STAMP 21:04 onward: Back in late November 2006, I drove my bass boat into that cove area of that S.E. spillway, looking for a spot to fish wild shiners along the edge......but about 6 boats were already claiming the edges, so I noticed huge schools of baitfish with bigger fish under them ( bass ) in 12 ft of water, on my fish finder, right in the middle. So I anchored there and put out 2 rods with shiners under floats. The flood gate was flowing and it was noon. Using 4 doz jumbo wild shiners, I wound up catching 35 bass for a total weight of 162 lbs, my single best day ever. The 5 biggest bass weighed 45 lbs. Two were 10 lbs each, one 9, and two 8's. So far, I've caught four 12 lb bass out of that reservoir. Thirteen 10's, fifteen 9's, and I literally lost count of all the 8's over the years. Lost one there that about made me cry, it rolled on the surface & spit my jig, which flew past my shoulder like a bullet. Got a good look at it too. That bass had to be at least 15 lbs........and quite possibly 17. Had a witness in a nearby boat. He said that fish was pulling my boat around as I was fighting it. I never touched my trolling motor pedal. I doubt I'll ever hook into one that big again......but I'm still trying.

Nice. I was fishing with my dad and one of the uncles on the Red river, out of Oklahoma. I was about 9 years old, and a bass rolled across from us in the boat. The uncle actually fished in bass tournaments and even he was startled by the size of the thing. When it finished rolling it's tail came out of the water like a whale does. It actually scared me. To a small boy, I swear that tail had to be about a foot and a half across. c1967? ish.
