There was not a pre-med route/ major you had to apply to. Pre-med is a series of courses you have to complete to apply to medical school. There will be advisors to help you out when selecting courses for each semester.
Great question. From my knowledge, there are only pre-med programs/tracks within undergraduate programs. You can do any major in college and be pre-med as long as you are doing the pre-med courses.
