I would like to add few points as a professional Palmist and Astrologer. 1. Palmistry: Palmistry is another way of predicting/deciphering ones life. Every shastra has its own strengths and limitations. Using Palmistry we can tell certain things very easily like longevity, whereas in astrology it requires lot of calculations and still the accuracy is not that great. I personally use both Palmistry and Astrology to conclude the predictions; it compliments each other, hence the prediction accuracy goes up. 2. Astrologer giving/changing Karma: Since I am doing it professionally, in my experience, I have seen people having very bad karma no matter what we tell, they do not follow our guidance. I ask them to do simple things like visiting temples, chanting certain mantras, etc. When I follow-up, they gave some excuses of not doing it. On the contrary, when a person's karma is good, but he/she is going through some rough patches, they followed the remedies and recovered from their rough patches. Thanks, Dr. K.V.N. Prasad ji, that's a good point. You are right that some people with really strong bad karmas do not follow advice. However, some do follow advice and benefit. Thus, astrologers DO incur some karma in the process of advising. In fact, in old days, astrologers and priests used to take a break now and then and completely spend time in sadhana during the break.

Few question to Mr Rao about Jyotish :1. Does getting any puja done, making a pandit do japa for your graha dosha, wearing precious stones which has got some mantras done on them affect your karma or its for your mental satisfaction only? 2. If you do not start some thing on auspicious muhurat (or time), why should that matter? That time has nothing to do with your karma, or if some other time negates bad effect of your past karma or increases effect of karma how sound or just is karma it self which is affected by things like this. 3. Do you recommend that Govt of India or US should have fleet of Rajjyotish (like we used to have in India) which will check auspicious time for every major initiative (eg launching of spaceshuttle, surgical strike, launching Arogya setu or HealthcareMarket Place in US etc). 4. Do you agree that Jyotish not a science in the generally accepted definition that: Has evidence based , clearly defined procedures which will give repeatable results under defined conditions + have falsifiable hypothesis). 5. I have heard of this types of karma (which Indian have not) but am not sure which text book talks about it, or which text book has talked about it first. If I can get the name would be great. You mean first breath, not first birth. I think so long as a watch/clock or even mobile phone is there, the error in noting time of first cry/breath, cannot be more than 5 mins, even if the doctor or nurse , in the flurry of delivery actions, remembers to note first cry/first breath time, after some delay only
@@venkat6260 No .I am a non-astrolger, slowly getting familiar with terms, and some basics ( just like a layman learns terms and meanings of medical & disease related terms, precautions etc.) Non astrologers also can use the software, to know the horoscope correctly, and know the Lagna, rasi , and sequence of Dasas one will go through in life, as well as relative strength of various houses in one's horoscope. To interpret the horoscope and to know in each Dasa what good and and effects will occur, one needs a correct in-depth knowledge and expertise in astrology, acquired over two decades at least. Just as in the case of what makes for a good doctor or surgeon, who are not top grade from day one, but are chiselled and shaped & developed with time & experience with proper guidance under an Expert Senior.

When surya budha shukra is lying in the lagna chart 1st house then the people won't have hairs. Just check kundli it is accurate or not. Or the combination too. Astrology is always accurate but astrologer won't.
Can this be tested with a lot of data to see how accurate the predictions are? If the % correct is greater than what would occur on a random basis for an event (> 0.5 for example for a fair coin toss) then we know the prediction is not random.

We say it like that in the South. The Sanskrit pronunciation is between the Hindi ‘Jyotish’ (with abrupt ending) and ‘Jyotishya’ ( with a complete ‘a’ in the end). You will be taught the exact pronunciation only in Sanskritam.
It is an acceptable pronunciation, he is an Indian, and seems to know his subject, and kindly keep from exposing your petty intellect with the need to correct.
Actually, the correct Sanskrita word IS "jyotisha". The removal of "a" at the end of a word is a Hindi tradition purely under Arabic influence. Same with Rama vs Ram. The correct Sanskrita word is Rama and nor Ram.
@@pvr108 Sir but रामः is not same as रामा . In hindi we say राम । Same with all the masculine gender word. May its just commonly used way of speaking these sanskrit originated words.
