@@robertjusic9097 And.. In motorsports every millisecond is significant. 1second is much more impressive, especially for a young series with a budget as small as FE.
Real talk: FE's biggest problem right now are their "circuits." They're too tight, and they turn the cars into bumper cars. There's been a lot of talk about them using GP circuits, though i dont believe thats feasible for the cars mechanically. They're too slow, and they'd run out of power quite quickly. SO: What they SHOULD do, in my opinion, is use vintage road courses found across Europe and the US. They're smaller and have the same benefits as using road courses, but allow for clean racing and PASSING. They could even use the targa or something. the low downforce, high resilience, high mech grip, and increased body roll as compared to other formula cars is a fantastic recipe for classic road courses. And what an epic way to blend the new and the old! THAT would make Formula E even more "relevant" to much of the racing community. Genuinely, the mechanics of these cars lend themselves more to vintage style circuits than anything we've seen in the last 15 years.
@@joshuagabrielcatindig7607 Yeah, this power argument doesn't cut it. FE doesn't need to drive at high-speed circuits like Spa or Monza, but surely tracks like Hockenheim short circuit or Le Mans Bugatti circuit would work?
@@johnwhittaker311 The first part I knew, but it's great to have him full time. He's a great driver and I expect him making all others sweat after one season of acclimatising - or even sooner.
@@WromWrom He showed some great results last season when he joined Audi. I am sure he will do a great job although it sure will be difficult in the first time.
The Fe is back with the closest field just yet in timing pace but it's can be a closer season like last year everybody had a Chance to win the opening header
@@deepaksrinivasmondal They want to host as many races as possible in central locations (street circuits) so that as many people as possible can spectate without having to drive to a track. It is a cool idea that I support, I just really would like to see how these cars race on a more open traditional track. hope that made sense
@phil phil I don’t want to agree because I’d love to think stoff is apart of 2 teams (FE and F1 but kind of 1) that respect him as a racing driver and and believe that he is suitable to fill in for a driver (as he is their reserve) but i kind of have to agree, Williams wouldn’t give up George at such an unpredictable and possibly close GP unless they were getting something else out of it and that means that Mercedes really really didn’t want Stoff in the car, anyway my tantrums won’t change anything I just hope Lewis and Grosjean get better even if I’m not a fan of them
@@shmet I don’t really, I’d like to compare George to bottas to see if he is really as good as everyone thinks, we’ve seen countless drivers who have done great in junior categories who can’t handle F1 and I don’t personally think beating 2 paid drivers is a good way to say if he is or isn’t a good driver
So, does FE still racing on tight circuit? Ive not been following FE for very long time Edit: 2 things that can make me an FE fan. Proper track and mandatory pitstop
How are they 'manufacturers' when they all use the same stock chassis ? I don't understand it... that being said it's a good idea they run in january, so that we'll have something to watch during the winter break in F1
@@alexander0105 yeah but george russel as far as I know is actually in the mercedes training program so he is under mercedes and will drive for them in the future in Formula 1
With Audi and BMW leaving, this proves that you cannot have a motorsport that relies so heavily on manufacturers. Look at WEC, DTM, and Formula 1. Manufacturers leaving (like Honda recently) has the potential to cause many, many issues for those sports in general.
The only draw back of Formula E for me is its race tracks in airport parking places it's hasn't been that exciting, we don't care how these cars are slower than F1 around a conventional track. We're here to see a proper race despite their lap times. imagine they race around Spa, Monza and Silverstone.
