Preorders boost metrics for gamestop, that way publishers send them more copies. As for the over abundance of paper mario, the copies are from nintendo blacklisting amazon and walmart this year from accepting pre-orders. That is due to them delivering games too early.
You can't just return a new game to GameStop except if you want $40 store credit lol. Also you can pre order a game and then just not buy it and get your money back.
This - I assume the laws are the same in the US as Canada, but you can't return open media because you could of very well taken it home, ripped in on to the computer, and then returned it, not to mention the possibility that you somehow burn a virus on the disc, or replace it with something malicious
My local Gamestop only gets the pre order copies in for the first week of launch. If you don't pre order, you might get the open copy on the shelf. Other than that, they "order a copy" for you. And then you wait for them to get it in and hope the employee reads the note on the desk to call you before they sell it to whoever comes in. But don't worry, they still have hundreds of pop figures taking up half the store that they try to sell you and insist you check out before leaving. Now i could go to the other Gamestop further away. But the kid working there tries to bar everything behind having a PowerUp Rewards Pro account. Pre orders are only for pro members. Warranties are only for pro members. If you bought a warranty while Pro, it's only valid if your membership is active. Good thing warranties are valid at any store.
(Little whimsical flute melody) "ohhh yea that's hot..... your a dirty little flute melody aren't you? Yeaaaaaaaaa... Lets save you for later..." (replays little whimsical flute melody) "Ohhhhhhhhh yea... that's hot! YOU DIRTY DIRTY FLUTE MELODY YOU!"
I just listened to the new Red Vox single, damn what a catchy good tune, I'd love to see Red Vox perform! I wish i could go to TMG but I live too far and I have to work. Hope it goes well have fun and be safe Vin!
I had a GameStop employee legit get mad at me when i didn’t pre-order totk. He asked why i didn’t pre-order if i was getting the game on day one and when i told him i don’t really shop at GameStop nor was i planning on getting the game day-1 he legit told me i was lier, and started pestering me about how i should pre-order everything and shit and asking me if i wanted to pre-order a million other games i never even remotely showed interest in. I have never been back to GameStop since.
