I washed my wife’s car yesterday, I used a cheapo foam to clean wheels/tyres with a small brush, then snow foamed the bodywork with Bilt Hamber AutoFoam, about 200/300mm product made up to 1L in my MJJC. After that I did something I’d never done before which was, as I had lots of foam left in my cannon I snow foamed it again and then washed it with my mitt. I rinsed off again and it looked great, plus, I only used 1 bucket with grit guard to swill the mitt. As it was quite sunny, I managed to get it done quicker, didn’t use any shampoo and didn’t use any hot water in my 2nd bucket. I’m about to order a citrus cleaner for my pre-wash to go forward, hopefully less scrubbing of the wheels which is my most hated job to do, but what I like most, clean alloys and dressed tyres………….
I did my black Kia in the sun yesterday. Remembering what you taught me. One panel at a time then rinse off and move on to the next one. It didn't look to bad when it was finished. Woke up this morning to a light shower obviously with sand in it. Looks like it did before.(Wasn't worth all the agro from your mother) . Dad 🤦😂🤣
First class advice Dave it's so easy for beginners to get carried away. Hopefully if they follow your advice they will get better results everytime, and enjoy cleaning there car's.
Loved your reference tonthe keyboard warriors, and low and behold, no one has moaned, your power of persuasion is unrivaled 😂. I also agree about the reference to products harmong cars, because I'd like to think that peope who are watching this type of content, love their cars and they'll be protected. All the best.
Nothing wrong with ph neutral but for me I just don't get it unless a car is "super special" for your everyday cars Alkaline snow foam like "epic snow foam 😉" just gets the job done
@@epicautomotivedetailing I would love to order a few bottles but I am living in Germany so it won't make much sense for me due to Customs fee and shipping costs.. pity!
Another great video Dave, I always do the wheels first, then the petrol cap and then under the bonnet, and after that the pre wash, I think I've been watching these channels for too long 😁😁😁
Until last week I had an Alfa 159 ti sportwagon in Russo red (imho the best colour) which used to look absolutely fantastic once I followed a lot of your tips, but lately it was doing its best to drain my wallet, so I sold it on. My replacement car is something totally different, a 2010 Honda CR-Z with a full service history, less than 59,000 miles and in a pearlescent white metallic paint which is in very good condition for its age. I am going to spend some money getting it professionally detailed at a firm local to me, as they are doing a good deal for a machine polish and a ceramic coating. The car last had the full Autoglym LifeShine deal (interior, exterior and glass) back in 2019. I have no idea if that was any good or not, but I think it's time to get it done again.
Ceramic coatings have come a long way. Synergy from infinitywax or g techniq ceramic coatings are very popular with good reason. I love white cars once they are clean. I'm looking at a white Audi TT at moment. Deciding if I should get it
@@epicautomotivedetailing That's the catch with white cars - you have to keep them clean. A lot less hassle than black cars though! I had an og Saab 9-5 Aero back in the day , followed by a Mk 8 Civic, both of them black. Did my head in keeping those buggers presentable. Black shows up every defect in the paint, whereas white is a lot more forgiving.
@Arti 159 totally agree, I had a black Polo GTi lady year, that's when I started getting into the cleaning and the thing was dirty the minute I turned my back 😂
Morning Dave …. Good video there just to keep us in check with the weather as it changes ……. How’s the Detailing bay going for you ?……. It’s looking Goooooooode
That's a really great and to the point video. Please make more like it for the other stages. As for PH neutral snowfoams, IMHO they are a waste of time. Use an alkaline one every time.
What is the nest advice/tips on cleaning your engine bay?? I drive A6 3L Quattro and im always afraid to get water in the wrong areas under the bonnet 😢 any help or advice much appreciated 👍 keep up the great work with the content 👏

Do you have a video on how to use a pressure washer on your car without damaging it? For example which nozzle to use etc? I've recently bought a Mac allister pressure washer and have yet to use it on my car dude to confidence 😅
Really helpful video, thank you - I’ve just got an AVA P50 and I’m looking for a really long reinforced hose to replace the standard 6m. Not sure if the fittings are the same as what you run but can I ask what you use? Sorry if it’s already been asked.. Cheers
Dave, I love your videos! I have a question for you. You mention cleaning the petrol cap. I drive an EV, while the charge port area does not get a mucky as petrol filler cap, dirt does accumulate there. What is your advice for cleaning it? I feel using a jet wash would be a bad idea as there is an open power connector right there without a cover. I would love to know your thoughts.
Hi Dave, One small doubt regarding pre wash chemicals. Can i mix an APC (GreenStar) with foam shampoo to get the same result was what you are getting with the citrus one? or is it ok spray the APC in the same dilution ration onto the panel and then cover it with snow foam ??? Like, majot doubt is, shall i replace the citrus pre wash with APC ?
Hi, I’m tossing between Ryobi 1800W 2030psi, with Karcher K3 Power Control High Pressure with Home Kit. Price difference is negligible. If you were me, which one would you go for?
For business sometimes you have to change things up on the day. I remember I washed a rolls Royce (uploaded it to RU-vid) it was the hottest day of the year, the car had black paint and the heat was unbearable but we pulled it off
And then there’s me polishing a car at like 10 pm on a windy evening with my cordless polisher on the side of the street with people lookin like i’m absolutely insane
How do you get the foam that thick? I have a p70 smart with the top Ava foam lance and it still isn’t foamy just sudsy water. Could it be hard water and also if it sits mixed together for 20 mins can it weaken the foam because it’s hard?
@@epicautomotivedetailing something I do on hot days, if there's no shade available, I will spray the vehicle first to cool the panels down, before applying any prewash, or snowfaom. This helps increase dwell time, but still have to be careful it doesn't dry on the vehicle.
Depends on scenarios mate. If the car is heavily caked in mud then you will need to loosen up some dirt first however for best results on moderate dirt apply to dry surface
