hello again! back to reality after getting married (sort of)... I filmed a ton of footage of the two of us doing random wedding things and mostly freaking out about nothing. It's a lot of disjointed clips of me doing things the week or two before. We actually got married last friday (3-12) so it is officially one week of marriage! So far so good... I will post more of the footage of our wedding day and things in a bit for anyone wondering. I even filmed my wedding makeup that I did and can post that too if you guys are interested. I did my hair and makeup myself... Honestly tho, best day of my entire life! Everything went right and I regret nothing! I can do a talking video discussing the day if you want to see that also.. Just let me know what you're interested in! Hope you enjoy these strange behind the scenes clips for the time being

Glad you got your small wedding. We had the dumbest drama the morning of because I had my grandparents’ names that had passed away put in the program “in memory of etc” and my husband was calling in a panic. “Why isn’t my grandma in there?” “Because she’s not DEAD” Omg. A calamity.

My husband and I decided to get married on thursday, and got married the following Tuesday. I wore a black dress and he wore jeans. Best decision of our lives. We got married, stayed in our marriage bubble for about a week, then told our family and friends. It was the most romantic, magically intimate day. We also live in Chicago, so our post wedding activitis were going to binneys and BD mongolian BBQ. The best part for me is only we know what happened in that courtroom. We got a copy of our vows, and still haven't shared them with anyone. We had a party for everyone to celebrate about six weeks later. Our families were shocked, and his parents said we hurt their feelings. But, two years later they are totally fine with it. I would not change anything we did that day. Your day, your way! It's all about the two of you. Congratulations!!! ♥

Omg, I am also in the midst of planning my “shotgun” wedding. I put shotgun in quotations because we were also supposed to get married within a month of deciding to “just do it”, but there is sooo much involved! So this video is great timing to me. Only six minutes in but the whole wedding planning rant is has been so cathartic for me. My fiance and I are eyeballs deep in planning for our wedding in June (which by the way we had to postpone from last summer) and realizing we are way in over our heads 😫 last year when we decided to postpone we were actually relieved because we hadn't done enough planning ahead, but now it's a year later and we're in the same darn situation

Wedding veils are so expensive I was shocked! My mom made mine. We went to Joanne fabrics and got the material and some tiny beads, and she dyed it using tea so it would match my dress better. Only spent about 10 dollars and I loved it! She was working on it right up until an hour before the wedding😂

First, congratulations! I needed to comment to let you know how much I related to this! My husband and I have always said we wanted a courthouse wedding and then dinner with our parents/siblings. We also hate attention and wanted to use the money we would have spent on our honeymoon instead. Once we were engaged, we felt pressure from family to do more, so we ended up planning a reception. But then COVID happened and we had to cancel it. We still ended up getting married, just had someone who was ordained sign the certificate for us and then had our parents over for a BBQ. I am so happy we ended up doing what we wanted instead of doing something family wanted. I hope the same happened for you!

I’m assuming Boo was excited when you told him, and offered to be your witness, or ring bearer! We got married in our formal living room, spent very little, and we just celebrated our 23rd anniversary, February 28th. I couldn’t go when our big store in Portland, OR closed. We would drive up there from the sticks to buy our school clothes when we were in high school. And I took my kids there to see Santa and see their Christmas displays. Santa was on the 8th floor, I believe, and the whole thing was incredible. They even had this little monorail set up that took the kids around the ceiling. We’d already survived the name change to Macy’s from Meier and Frank several years back.

We did the same thing! But got married before telling our family! Both of us Never wanted a big wedding! Families were happy but my in-laws really pushed this whole big wedding, felt super guilty & a lot more went down. Crying due to stress but finally had to be honest & it was the best decision I ever made. This years before Covid too! At the end of the day it’s about the two of you! So happy for you guys!

Me and my husband decided a month before on the date too! I picked the place the week before, hired a photographer and had our friend marry us! It was stressful for me too trying to decide where to go and what dress to wear and everything and we planned all along to have a very small wedding bc I thought it would be less stress 😅 it all worked out in the end and I still love how we did it and have zero regrets! We even spent less than $200 on our wedding which is unheard of! We sent a wedding picture to everyone at Christmas!
