There are two methods adopted in precast concrete construction. In the conventional method, the lapping length will be provided. In the advanced method lapping length is shorter and the bonding stress will be transferred through advanced method like grout moment couplers.

After the installation of the precast columns, the gap between the bottom of the precast column and the slab top will be grouted using non-shrink grout.
