Precious Adams - 2014 Prize Winner - Finals - Classical Variation La Belle - Aurore 3e acte - Piotr Tchaïkovsky - Maurius Petipa 2014 Prix de Lausanne Finals
I love how the music sounded like it danced around her as she made her moves, Like, *the synchronisation,* how she emphasized the piece through her delicate movements and still rocks it with elegance! It definitely looks like she grows herself a pair of fairy wings 💕
Chelsey Rader. Ah come ooon! A blessing? I’m guessing you’re American, tho of course I may be wrong, as Americans apply the words blessing and blessed, precious, and others in such strange ways. Extremely out of context it seems to me. To me these words are reserved for ..... well, actually I cannot think of anything where I would use these words. Maybe with blessing I might say You are very blessed with having good health, as I’m someone with bad health, and I would use it in an envious way. But blessed to watch a dancer??? Nooo.
She is very graceful and majestic and powerful and all of the above, but saying she is a blessing will mislead people about what the bible is all about. God doesn’t care about our physical talents or even how our body looks. Flesh counts for nothing. So why would having a girl dance for us be God’s reward to us for listening to him? First, we need to listen to him, then receive the blessings. But the privilege to watch this is not that. We can thank God for creating life and therefore all it’s possibilities. But we can’t make up what the blessings he gives are. Many people add to the bible and create these rituals or ideas that would actually upset God because it is deceiving. Please don’t mislead people about the bible 😅🙈🙊 If you think you do know the bible and you’re confused by what I said, try out some new bible studies! Keep trying until you find one that makes sense! And you’ll KNOW when it makes sense!
holy shit her musicality though why aren't we talking about that. there is one moment where she might as well be plucking the strings with her feet. diviiiine
@@mimosa.pw2ij When a dancer doesn't captivate the audience at the very beginning, they show their disinterest by not paying attention. Including looking off stage🤷
She is a rarity for this age and the "competition" ballerina - she looks happy and like she loves what she is doing. I have seen 100s of young dancers do this variation (which I think is boring) with a grin and bear it feeling. It takes a true dancer to bring life to this old warhorse and she is able to pull it off. Brava!
I UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY THAT WE SHOULD ALL PRAISE THIS GIRL JUST BECAUSE SHE IS DARK-SKINNED? YES? BRAVO ! BRAVO ! ENCORE PLEASE! )))) AND AS A SIGN OF OUR ADMIRATION, SHE CAN ROB THE NEAREST BANK WITH IMPUNITY!!))
Spiritt Chaser / what are u talking about? did u even read the comment? shes talking about how the dancer looks like she really enjoys what she does and has passion for it. dont be racist
Oh sorry, I don't pretend to offend anyone, in fact I would really like to learn Japanese, its only I didnt understand something of that, haha, sorry and blessings... ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Good technique?!:)) Hands - she doesn’t know what to do with them! Legs are very tense! No lightness or flexibility! Talented girl but her teacher must be awful.
After your comment it is clear, that you do know NOTHING about a real ballet, otherwise you would see this is a PARODY of ballet and parody of ballerina
@Ichigo Red maybe a hard practice would improve her technic, but don't focus to that.what is about the basic standard of classic ballet? Her body is not fit for it- her legs are with short calf muscles! It is genetic figure and it is not possible to change, that is why in Russia she would never be accepted as a professional ballerina. And that is why she is looking as a parody of ballerina. The classic ballet has very strict standards, so not every girl can become a professional ballerina
Should I trust you, or a panel of professional ballet dancers and choreographers who awarded her the prize? I think I will trust the professionals at Prix, but it’s cute that you think your opinion is that relevant.
She's beautiful 👁️👁️❤️ Edit: this comment section is so ugly. This is a beautiful clip of an immensely talented brown skin woman. Black women do everything, are everything. Black women are not going away. Black women belong everywhere they want to be. If you have anything negative to say about this, you are the problem. If you disagree even a little bit with what I said above, you are the problem. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you can be a better person. Ask yourself for forgiveness for the hatred that festers in your heart. Because that hatred is your weight to bear. I pray for all people whose hearts are corrupted with hate and racism.
I don't mean to be rude but... I don't see any hate comments. So I don't get where you are getting the hate comments from. She is gorgeous and I'll be pretty surprised if she even had hate comments. The hate comments would come from racist people. So again, why are you saying that this coming section is ugly?
This is the mark of a trouper: Performing with a painful injury and looking so bright and so happy and so wonderful and performing so well while your every second or third thought is "OUCH!" Ms Adams outdid herself and showed what she is really made of by creating a moment of beauty under demanding, adverse circumstances. Congratulations my dear, your professional attitude will take you far.
I was wondering about an injury - she seemed to be very careful/tentative/reserved about something. She seems really excellent but like something was off, especially with the chaine turns. What do you know about it?
Most of the black classical dancers I have seen who make it to ballet's highest levels have something extraordinary in their dancing - its a kind of super-human center of gravity, coupled with an equally extraordinary musicality. Precious Adams definitely has these qualities ❤ She performs Petipa's choreography in this clip in a way never really seen before. BRAVA LA ADAMS!!
A lot of ballerinas are saying she is not good but she captures my attention more than the "professional" ones I see. The others ones are very boring and basic. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
She makes everything appear so effortless, it’s a disappointment that she cannot move throughout her daily life en pointe. She’s so perfectly elegant. An absolute diamond.
Yes, that is the fenomenal as a PARODY of real ballet, and ballerina for somebody, who knows at least anything about ballet and it's standarts. It is smthg far far away from ballet at all
Great dancer? Seriously? She is only first soloist for six years, with such left leg she is lucky if she is still dancing and didn't have serious trauma
Скорость и техника ужасные. Почему американские балерины такие мускулистые??????Балет это грация, изящество, утонченность.Где здесь все это? А техника??? Нет слов. Если это победительница, то зрители проигравшие в этой ситуации.Печально....
I think that dancers with defined arms just truly shows how strong they are mentally and physically. But! You don't have to have strong arms to be graceful. All you need is some music and a happy attitude to show a beautiful piece of art through dance.
ничего не имею против чернокожих, но например в роли Одилии или Жизели не представляю, уж простите мою не толерантность и отсутствие мультикультурализма в классическом балете.
I always think this is such a bizarre variation. She made it interesting and fun to watch. The way she was winging her foot in those hops...super strong and delicate at the same time. Exactly what ballet is all about. ❤️
Her performance is outstanding. Everything comes together perfectly: lightness of dancing, musicality, mesmerizing smile, beautiful and graceful arms, great fluidity, perfect technique, strong ballerina body; she expresses so well artistically the happiness of Aurora; what an amazing blessing for the world of ballet. ( To me there is only one thing that generally female ballerina dancers need to have changed about: the need to look more professionally- to have much better covered their privet parts, may be having a bit longer dresses and overall more changes to the dressing, and I suggest all this to every professional who dresses female ballerina dancers, regardless of the ballerina ethnicity, skin color, ballet school or academy…….)
I saw Precious dance with ENB last Saturday and Sunday and what a talent. I hope ENB develops her and gives her more opportunities as she is a star in the making...let her shine bright!
This is amazing...I've never seen a ballerina perform this variation so well (as far as style goes)...there are parts of it that just matches the music so well (the sissones)....also from 1:07-1:20 is outstanding style and interpretation
I love that she unapologetically wears tights and pointe shoes that are made for her. People don't realize that tights and shoes are meant to blend into the skin and create one continuous line from the hip to the foot. She looks joyful and so at ease here. A true princess
She’s wearing tights? I felt like she wasn’t and it was the only thing that bothered me. Like I could see the muscles in her legs and it distracted me more that it has the right to
@@liannapfister8255 She said in an interview that she wore sheer pantyhose. Brown ballet tights weren't even a thing until less than 2 years ago, mostly thanks to her. She stayed true to herself and made a defining statement against racism in classical ballet at one of the world's biggest ballet competitions... but she still respected dress code as any true ballerina would.
@@p0lyxena when you say less that 2 years ago...you mean from 2014, right? Dance tights have existed in every color under the sun for a number of years at this point (good thing because they’re the softest tights I can find)
That, my friends, is what we call a "musical" dancer. With the technique to back it up. How many times have we seen (or maybe danced) this variation? You know, it's like, oh Lord, here comes the squeaking violin. Yet watching Precious -- even knowing what's coming -- is mesmerizing. She makes this variation so fresh, and light as air, and completely delightful. I predict very big and wonderful things for this one.
Watching this video reaffirms my conviction that racism is the stupidest thing on Earth. Precious is a magnificent dancer who is also opening the path for others to follow. If we were capable to embrace beauty in all its diversity, if we were able to understand that differences are what make this life such a wonderful adventure then, everything would be different! Bravo Precious!
@@dainagrn7030it’s giving disingenuous..no one was crying. Racism is real but not everyone is racist. Like what was this comment. She’s a black dancer and she’s lovely
Absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing !!!! Color on stage finally !!!! Dreams do come true for us too. God is good to all !!!! She is so happy dancing and not a boring moment👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ppl just let your racism and politics alone. She is an extraordinary beautiful ballerina with beautiful body lines and technique. Only Americans make fuss about everything. Just enjoy her dance.
@@repent. why would you ask what is wrong with her? And it's not a racial issue at all. It's not like ballet studios are racist and say no we don't want any black ballerinas, that just doesn't exist.
Sometimes I wish I'm a ballerina only because I want to use brown pointe shoes (my skin is brown I inherited it from my aboriginal ancestors and I love it) I really love dark pointe shoes 😍
Also just a bit of information on feet! All dancers don't use one toe or all 5 toes; I tend to dance on MOSTLY the first 4 toes on my left foot and my first 3 toes on my right! Thank goodness for custom made pointe shoes and knowledge from all the ballet masters who I have danced with and had the privilege of being a student (and pro ballerina! ) for all these years!
watching miss precious dance this variation made me realize how the steps are actually supposed to be synced to the music LOL. its so satisfying how she hits the notes exactly. her arms are so gentle and fluid. charming stage presence. a delight to watch and extremely well deserved prize win
pediatrapaola you know i'm a big fan of crazy elevation and ballons with looong air time as i like that Osiel kid. but i can't be satisfied lesser air time.
