From the condition of their coats, it's safe to say there are some serious issues that need to addressed and resolved. These are not happy, healthy chimps.

This is terrible on so many levels!!! The enclosure they keep the chimps is horrid, do they even have an outside area to walk on grass or see the sun?!?! I worry the mom is rejecting the baby because I've NEVER seen a mother keep handing off such a young infant to the others! I know babysitting is normal in chimp society but not a baby this young! She hands off the baby any chance she gets and walks away when the others try to hand the baby back to her! The mother looks very unhealthy and too thin. I would complain to the zoo!!! These animals need to be rescued from this zoo and have this zoo close down!!!

This is insane. The poor baby was getting pushed and hit in the head. Wtf is wrong with this zoo that there is only 1 zookeeper for all the chimps and why does the zookeeper think it’s ok for the baby to be treated so roughly? It’s not ok. It’s the zoo’s responsibility to take care of them all properly!

12年前に行った時と同じ環境。私たちがいくらあんじても動物園側が変えようとしなければかわることはないでしょう。当時から緑もなく、増えては困る、子どもはいらないから放置しているんだと思われても仕方ない。申し訳ないけれど、正直に言うと少しばかり怒りが生じるのです。子どもを大切にしてほしいです。予期せぬ子どもでも大切にして、愛して欲しいです。

I don't want to be one of "those people" who complain about how a zoo on the opposite side of the world from me runs, but this is a terrible environment for a tired, elderly mother to raise a baby. Poor thing needs to be human reared for it's first few months, at least. The males do seem to love the baby, but young, aggressive males aren't exactly wired to care for infants.

Furt is no longer capable of raising a child. The child should be separated from her for its own well-being. Furts other sons have no idea how to handle the child. The fact that only one keeper supervises the troop is unthinkable.

This is upsetting to watch! The baby needs to be hand reared or something because it's obvious the mother does not care for her baby like she needs to! I hope the baby survives! I know some of the behaviors are natural but the mother is not protecting the baby like I have seen with other chimps! Good luck!

I don't doubt that Furt loves her infant, but she's old, tired, and with a bunch of males in a small space. A 1st time mom would be way more possessive, but she isn't. I think this zoo is poor. With only one keeper, there's nobody to hand rear baby.

う～ん、なんと言えばいいのか。。私が旭山動物園に行ったのは20年近く前で、立派なチンパンジー舎はありませんでした。が、冬場の来園者のための立派さな気がしてなりません。上部も下部もガラス張り、ぜーんぶ丸見え。フルトさんの育児疲れが心配ですね😥若雄の子守り、雑な感じがどうも…😥坊やの無事な成長を祈るばかりです🙏

床はコンクリですから落下したら終わりです。そもそも、ここでは大人のチンパンジーも落下死してます。闘争により怪我をして、落下死したものと思われます。見ていて目が離せない、ドキドキしてきます。動物園の本来の目的と乖離してると感じます。

Poor baby did not survive. I don't know the circumstances of its demise, but there are other videos showing the slow progression of the baby not getting enough nourishment since it's mother was malnourished also. very sad. I feel for all the chimps, some don't have any hair at all, which indicates they are malnourished and are confined to small spaces. Very sad indeed.

Furt is elderly and may have not produced enough milk, and what milk she did produce may have been lacking in nutrients due to her own poor health. ☹️

They are super stressed. They are clearly-over-grooming which is why so many of them have a lot of bald patches of missing fur. They do this when they are overly anxious. It was also disturbing to see the mother repeatedly hitting the baby's head. A sign that she is agitated and doesn't really know what to do because she has most likely not seen an older female raise a baby. They learn from their mothers the same as humans do. This is a disturbing video and the zoo officials should be fired. The male beating on the glass and kicking it is further demonstration of their agitation. This is awful.

心臓がもちません…。何度も休憩を挟んで拝見しました…。フルトさん、お疲れでしょうけど… どうか赤ちゃんを手離さないで下さい😢 赤ちゃんの一日は、タップリのお乳と睡眠をとることで身体を造っていきます。赤ちゃんはずっと“オッパイ欲しい”の口をしてました…あくびもしてました…😢 このままでは、事故…栄養失調…ネガティブな事しか想像できません…。子供たちは赤ちゃんをイジメたりせず、可愛がりお世話しようと一生懸命なのは伝わります…が！それで帳消しにできる内容ではないです！！避妊ミス…近親…園からしたら望まれない結果かもしれませんが、それは人為的ミスであって、チンパンジーたちは何も悪くありません。せっかく生まれてきてくれた尊い命です！！フルトさんが赤ちゃんとゆっくり過ごせる環境を整えて欲しいです！！数年後、赤ちゃんが無事に成長してくれた事を見届けるまで、怖くてこの動画二回目は見れません…。動悸が治まらない状態でコメント書いてます…。現地にいらしたるいけんさんは心臓にかなりの負担だったことでしょう…。本当にお疲れ様でした。ありがとうございます。

ここを一人でやっているのですからミスが起こるのは当然だと思います。一見、優れた動物園のように見えますが、動物福祉というてんでは目立つところではないです。改めて感じました。たとえば、もし人工保育にしなければならない状態になったら一人でいっぱいいっぱいなのに対応できない、これだけで不適切な人員配置だと思います。そもそも13人以上も赤ちゃんが育児放棄や事故死している事態が異常です。おそらく、チンパンジーの赤ちゃんの死亡率が高いため当たり前だと思い込んでるんだと思います。近年の赤ちゃんの死亡率は、昔ほど低くありません。闘争管理も全くできていない状態です。一人では当たり前です。こんなに可愛いい赤ちゃんを・・・ありがとうございます。🙏

@@GreatApesZoo さん今日も赤ちゃんの事で頭いっぱいです…。ニコルちゃんの際の、園の記事も確認しました。全く同じ事が起きようとしてるのに、改善する動きが無いのが信じられません。フルトさんは明らかに自ら子供へ赤ちゃんを渡し、返そうとしても受けとる事を拒否してました。最初は違ったにせよ、現時点で育児放棄と見なし赤ちゃんを救うべきです。人員不足で早急に人工哺育に切り替えできないなら、取り急ぎフルトさんと赤ちゃんを非公開にしてバックヤードで過ごしてもらいたい… 今この瞬間も赤ちゃんが無事か… なんとしてでも救いたいです。とっても可愛い赤ちゃん…一生懸命生きようとしてます…。

うまくいけば、ニナちゃんこの場所を離れることができるようです。おびひろのプヨのように、早くそうなってもらいたいです。チンパンジーのメスは、自分の意志で移籍できるのですから。赤ちゃんの状況にめまいがしてきます。チンパンジーの飼育環境を改善する余裕がありません。

I can clearly see why you say babies die here one after another. They should offer that baby to a zoo who would hand rear it. I’m sure there is a lot of places that would take that baby in. The way the mother passes it to whoever will take it all the time and the way the others hold it, being so high up on concrete it’s just a matter of time before an accident happens. And in a comment below I was watching the video they said that's why they have it named it because and they don't know the sex I believe it's a little girl because when they were holding it up you seen no penis I believe that's a little girl and it said that they haven't even given her a name yet it's just it breaks my heart and you're right any zoo in Japan would be gladly to take that baby in because obviously the mother does not want to take care of it because mothers do not pass their babies I watched tamazoo and milking she has not let hardly anyone even touch her baby

Good heavens! These chimps are losing a lot of fur, they’re all stressed and need sorting out. As for baby, it needs to be removed from these adults for safety. The people watching and laughing are not helping either, the chimp was hitting the window so hard because it didn’t like to be laughed at , he was frustrated.

子供たちも赤ちゃんを可愛がっているつもりだと思いますが、いかんせん、まだまだ幼すぎるし、そもそもまだ他のチンパンジーに渡す年齢ではないです。フルトもそのような普通の子育てができるチンパンジーだったそうですが、高齢であることや元気な男の子が多いので、こうなってしまっているのでしょう。

フルトもきちんと子育てできる母だったようですが、今回はちょっと育児放棄的な行動が頻繁にあります。子供たちが抱かせてほしいと手を出すので、渡してみたところ楽になることを学習したのではないかと思ってます。高齢ですから。心配です。

半分、園が赤ちゃんの命をあきらめている感じもします。あくまで園の空気感ですが。フルトは、もともと普通に赤ちゃんを育てられる母だそうです。とてもかわいい赤ちゃんの命を守ってもらいたい。

These chimps are so stressed out that they have groomed almost all of the fur from every last one of them...I saw not one of them grooming cause I guess there's nothing left to groom... sleeping on that hard metal..and that haby..omg..why wasnt that mother sterilized she should've never been able to get pregnant being that old...THIS PLACE NEED TO HE SHUT DOWN...SHAME ON THE COUNTRY and whomever is responsible for that zoo

This is such a tragedy about the baby. The one totes around like a toy, either pounding on its head, yanking her, licking her inappropriately and roughly and you can see the baby in distress many times with its little mouth rounded crying for mom.

Sometimes it really takes a whole village to raise a child but not this early in it's development. It's worrisome that Furt won't hold her baby for longer period and just hand it over to others. I'm sure the male Chimpanzees have good intentions but that's not enough when they have no idea how to handle a baby. There are things the staff could do to secure the awful enclosure like putting up net in some strategic places. Another thing is to make the platforms bigger. I hope this cute baby girl will survive. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪🇺🇦🕊

I think this zoo is poor. They don't have enough keepers to hand raise infant. I hate to say it, but I'll be shocked if the little guy survives. If Furt keeps handing him off to others, he won't.

And some of the free videos like the first videos I've seen of these chimps they make comments are the most dangerous chimps in Japan but why are they dangerous and why do they look like that that is not a normal looking chip something is wrong them are experimental chimps or something they are cross breeding something them chimps to me look almost human it's just sad and scary and they need to take that baby from fruit obviously she does not want to raise it

I had a very hard time watching this video... if the zoo keeper can’t take the baby away from these chimps that don’t understand how to take care of a baby then the zoo should put the chimps on birth control OR someone needs to turn this zoo in for neglect.... this is truly sad & heart breaking... The thing that stands out is the patch balding on the animals, To me that indicates that something is wrong. I suppose I have not seen many chimps, but if I have a house full of dogs or cats with missing hair I would look for an answer.

@@mull529 Some naturally shed hair as they age, others are born hairless. They get this weakened appearance because of the fights between them, they are extremely strong animals. Sometimes they lose fingers, eyes or pieces of ears in these fights. This is how they behave in nature. The best way to assess their health is by their physique and agility of movement. Note that the chimps in the video are strong and agile, indicating that they are healthy.

動物園で、いままでで、ここまで精神的に疲弊したことはありません。動物園出るときにはぐったりしました。あの瞬間は、私の寿命を縮めたような気がします。ガッツはハルキより年下なのでもっと雑な扱いです。ただフルトは、ハルキをベビーシッターに指名します。思いのほか怖い顔のキャロは分かってるような感じ。ただしディスプレイの時だけは関係なしですから・・・ほんと疲れました。

ハルキは、おもいのほか赤ちゃんの面倒を見ています。だからフルトもハルキに任せてしまうんです。フルトは高齢で子育ては大変ですから。子供たちは、故意に危害は加えませんが、というよりかわいがってます。でも若者雄ですから危険には変わりありません。動きがアクロバティックすぎるんです。一番危険なのは、室内が狭くてコンクリートと金属であることです。頭ぶつけたり、落下したら終わりです。外なら少しはましに感じますが。ここは、赤ちゃんが最も死亡している動物園なんです。13人以上が死亡しているんです。大人も一人死亡しています。コンクリの床に落下して・・チンパンジーの命に対する感覚がマヒしているのではないかと思ってます。わたしも既に提出済みですが、反応があるかどうか・・・ありがとうございます。よろしくお願いします。

These checks mos look kind of ragged. Are they supposed to look this way? The ones I've seen don't have missing fur. They don't look happy or healthy. So sad for baby. フルトは高齢ですから本来避妊しているんですが、失敗したそうです。それ以前に血縁しかいませんから・・・赤ちゃんの生存率は、かなり低いのではないかと感じていしまいます。

What is being done to help these animals. The enclosure appears too small for the number of apes. Allow the apes have scars and alopecia. The chimpanzee banging on the window could be a sign of anxiety and frustration due to the living conditions.
