@louis nations -this is something you see in the South (Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana) there is also a crowding ceremony that we do at the at the being of a service.
We have absolutely no clue what we meant in life until that life is no longer among us. I have never seen an obituary in the Times that said, "you never mattered, wish you left sooner." This was a wonderful posting of someone who was truly special. The celebration of the better place was honored here. Funerals on TV are too dramatic. Having lost two daughters and going through the motions and not really remembering either one due to tripping on the loss, a celebration of their lives would have been awesome dude. Be blessed guys. Contrary to Unpopular Opinions 😌 I absolutely love these types of Home going CELEBRATIONS. Why do people always Assume that funerals have to be sad, dry and folks falling out all over the place 🤦🏾♀️ if you had some Understanding you'd Know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!! You don't and Never Will have what you'd think it would take for your loved one to come back to this cruel, evil world. Especially Once they've crossed over to Heaven.
Hope the home they going to is paved with the streets of gold. God is not pleased, and anything that exalts itself over God is idol worship, it’s a remnant going to heaven, and you would think with all going on.. it’s time for the acting to stop
In this industry by way of offering preplanning & concierge service and after, this is one of the best types of service addition (crowing) of love one that is raising, but still alot of families don't know about it. And in most funeral homes, it is an additional service, but worth it.
It should be a celebration of the life of and the return to, the Creator for the dearly departed. I thought it was stylish, classic and a great way to honor this person. Better this than people hollering, screaming, rolling on the floor and fighting outside of the church. That’s just my input. I enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing. 💜
These people did my nephew funeral in 2018. Delvantee Bell known as Vontashia Bell. He was shot an killed on Harrison Street in cedar grove. Left my baby in a ditch to die! I’m still mad. He would been 21. My mom had to suffer an accept his death plate with his name on it. He was class of 2019 Woodlawn Leadership Academy. He was a transgender.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion here but these ostentatious displays are simply a way for the funeral service provider to upcharge the bereaved at the moment of their greatest loss. This includes the horse-drawn carriages, the designer caskets, the fleet of limousines, etc. We're fooled into believing that we have the give our loved ones a big, flashy send-off as a demonstration of how much they meant to us. As a black man, I understand the cultural significance of this type of event. But how about calling Grandpa/ma once a week to check-in, or visiting Auntie just for the pleasure of her company? Maybe if we treat our loved ones with love and compassion while they're alive, we won't be duped into having these performances that we have to spend the rest of OUR lives paying for. By no means am I implying that this is the case of this dear one's family. The portion of the service shown here, while reverent, is so unnecessary. For those of you who may belong to the Christian faith, the Bible teaches that the body is merely a vessel for the indwelling of Christ. Therefore, once it dies, it has fulfilled its purpose. Of course, civility dictates the proper committal of the earthly remains. I don't think this includes a showy display.

Well I'll be JIMMIDY the CRICKET! I've been to a couple of funerals that had this.. I told my son's.... DO NOT DO THIS tacky as HELL thing at my funeral... or I'd reach up and SLAP THEM to the floor.
