Precious Metal promoting a song from their third album That Kinda Girl in a late night TV broadcast from 4-29-89, around the same time they were shooting their cameo in the film Rich Girl.
BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded between from 1983 into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on RU-vid or online. Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads.
In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper, who worked for a local cable TV production company in the 1980s, monitored nightly for several years. Some of the programming is strictly regional, mostly from the San Diego area.

The song is called "Sweet Sweet". Cool song. Cool album. Cool band. Always liked Precious Metal. 🤘🏻

I just looked though a very old box of heavy metal magazines from ‘85, ‘86 or so. I can’t believe I still have a bunch of this stuff. I never heard of Precious Metal. But something in one of my old magazines caught my eye, and I was like, who the heck is this?? Thank God for modern technology- that I may check them out from my smart phone while I’m sick with a cold, chillin in my basement. Also, if I had to grade this band from just this one video, I would have to take off points for a number of minor, petty things, but things that add up. Which is prolly why I never heard of them. I kept thinking how Vixen seemed to check off more boxes than Precious Metal did here. > Small drum set. Apparel weak. Vocals great for karaoke, maybe not compared to Lita. Song composition not robust, not innovative. I’m thinking Mac n Cheese in a station wagon. It works. But it’s forgettable. It’s no “Bad Medicine” or “Fantasy” (Aldo Nova) or “In My Dreams” (Dokken) or “Rock You Like. A Hurricane” or “Dr. Feelgood” but I heard the whole thing before making this comment. It’s not bad, but it’s not awesome, like “Master of Puppets.” This is the Go-Go’s watered down a tiny bit, but with distortion.
