Also, what makes this movie so good is the characters and actors lines are blurred. You have two vets, a convicted man with a bodyguard to protect the other actors. Arnie and Carl, ripping shirts. How could Adrian Brody think he had a chance? Yeah, I know that’s an actors job but we need bad asses to play badasses. Who we got nowadays? The Rock? Tom Hardy maybe? The 80’s didn’t give one and the ‘actors’ came from very unconventional places. The soundtrack happens to also be the best action movie soundtrack ever. Jungle trek is my favourite.

Predator nerd here: The Predator only removes the skulls of its most honorable/worthy kill. Because Billy decided to face it down in 1v1 melee combat, the Predator deemed him a worthy trophy. That's also why the Pred decided to face Arnold 1v1 without his mask.....He knew what kind of soldier he was dealing with.

In many ways, this is an anti macho movie. The core message is being an aggressive dude bro gets you killed. These guys act tough but when faced with the unknown, their tough exterior is shown to be fragile. Arnold is only able to beat the predator by hiding and and laying a trap instead of some brawl or feat of strength. Also, the massive irony that they all could of lived if they just dropped their weapons and refused to fight.

SOMEONE GETS IT!!!! And that’s the John McTiernan of it all me thinks. Although it’s not canon it’s pretty much established that he told them exactly what happened. He was said be highly radiated from the explosion of the first Predator and then apparently left or broke out from where he was recovering from and never seen again. On top of that he happened to be speaking to Peter Keyes from the second one which explains why OWLF knew of them and why Keyes’ team was there hunting the second Predator. Originally as a cameo he was meant to turn up in the alley way just after the second Predator gets his arm cut off by Harrigan but Arnold wasn’t interested so they wrote it out. As another little bonus in the game Predator Hunting grounds there are several bonus tapes of Arnold as Dutch narrating the events that happened to him after his encounter. Again none of it is canon but it’s interesting none the less.

Fun Fact: The Predator design is credited to special effects artist Stan Winston. While flying to Japan with James Cameron, Winston, who had been hired to design the Predator, was doing concept art on the flight. Cameron saw what he was drawing and said, "I always wanted to see something with mandibles." - Predator (fictional species) - Wikipedia

predator is actually a sport hunter, those warriors that tickles its fancy, get turned into trophies, all the incursion on a planet is streamed to the ship above, like in a ritual, this specimen in this movie, was a noob, young predator*... (that part of the globe was a trial ground for younglings, those tales from the girl, are from previous rituals)

Part of the insurance stipulated that Sonny Landham needed a bodyguard's close by at all times for the sole purpose of protecting people from Sonny. The bodyguard followed Sonny everywhere to ensure he didn't get into a fight, since he was well known to be violent and short tempered.

The biggest joke in this movie was Blaine bringing a minigun to a dense jungle. The thing weighs around 85 lbs and requires a battery and with the huge ammo pack you're looking at a total weight of 300+ lbs so it's kinda insulting. Luckily Blaine is a strong guy :))

It's pretty much the kind of movie I watch primarily with my dad if there's nothing else on TV 'cause he loves Arnold. Such a classic! And it's always refreshing to hear guy's reaction to such a testosterone driven movie. lol
