Very easy to install!! The only issue I had was pulling the electrical panel out away to put the shut off switch in. My wires were tight and it wouldn’t pull away as far as in this video. Still easy enough to hook up.. Thank you very much this is well worth the money!
I just installed my remote start on my Predator 9500 using the easy to follow video. It only took me about 1 and a half hours to install and it works great! I highly recommend it.
We just installed this kit on our generator. The written instructions were good but this video really made things clear and easy to understand. Thanks for making this possible! Part two will be to add a setup to allow our inverter to auto start the generator using this kit to provide the choke and kill functions. We are setting it up to work with a Magnum inverter on an off grid system.
Well RU-vid says it has been 10 months since my earlier comment. Feels more like a year…. Bit the bullet and bought this kit. The installation was pretty easy using the written instructions alongside this video. After using it for a year I can say the autostart kit is the most reliable part on this genset. Have a good day!
Question for me is what is the range of the remote. When I'm racing the generator is out of the side compartment of my trailer. I sleep in the trailer at the track & when I wake up I start my generator from in the trailer. Probably about 10-15 ft away plus the trailer walls. Will this remote do the same
We live remote in Alaska. A friend/YT sub is bringing us up a new predator 5000 next week. Can a 2 wire start system be designed for one of these gens? Be nice to have it set up to start and stop on it's own.
We are actually finishing a kit that will have that capability. Once the circuit boards are done I can make up the correct wire harness for that model. I am hoping within the next few months for it to be available. Thank you!
@@generatorupgradesupply8953 Well sadly i am not sure it will work. I have discovered that the 5000 has a set up in the programming that if it does not sense any use in 12 hours it shuts down the electrical system until you tap the round button again and that resets the clock. Or does your system over ride that?
A generic trunk actuator to activate the choke? This reminds me of the time I stuck a bicycle gear on a chainsaw and used hose clamps to secure the saw to the A frame of my bike and called it a motorcycle, difference is I was 12 years old. It kind of worked , but I regretted it.
Hello. Finally installed the kit I bought last month on our Predator 9500. Followed your installation video and it went pretty smoothly. Starts and stops as it should using the remote. Thanks again for your help! Frank
@@generatorupgradesupply8953 I am in the same boat - need the ability to tie it into an inverter generator relay. I guess, one could, potentially pop open one of the remotes, and, switch across the contacts for "A"; but, that would definitely be messy.
Hey, It comes with a kill switch to turn power off to the module when it is in storage etc. It would drain that battery in about a week if you left the module on and didn't run the generator in that time to recharge it. Thanks!
I just finished installing mine! Two issues came up up neither had much to do with the kit ! The screw holding the choke selector sits in a hole. This hole got filled with something! Insect? But I could t see the screw and could not remove it! The solution was to use a small flat blade screwdriver to scrape the hole clean. The other issue was the screw that holds the CO2 sensor is a Torx SECURITY screw and of course, I only had standard Torx bits! So a 40 mile round trip to get the needed security screw! This is covered in both the written instructions and the video! My fault! The video is very good and I can now start/stop from my house!
@@jeprevostwe found out about the security a bit late too. Also our instructions said a T-10 size which also was incorrect. Our generator uses a T-20 security screw in this location. Our solution was to use a Dremel tool to grind a small slot in our Torx bit. The slot allowed the bit to fit over the bump and remove the screw. My suggestion would be to have send a couple of bits with the kit as a lot of folks are far from a good place to buy one.
Hey there, here's the link to the kit. Thanks! generatorupgradesupply.com/products/plug-play-remote-start-and-stop-kit-for-predator-9500w-inverter-generator?ToPasteBoard&
