Would you help me out....? I have a question regarding your equations...usually people write these equations...this way.. 1) x′ = a x − αxy 2) y′ = −c y + γ xy Why you used extra R(n-1) and F(n-1)? [Which are X(n-1) and Y(n-1)]
Hi Rafi. The system of differential equations you wrote is for continuous functions x and y, while I consider the discrete case, often referred to as difference equations, in which the derivative x' is simply replaced by the the difference X(n)-X(n-1) (the same is done for y'). Replacing the x and y and the right-hand side by X(n-1) and Y(n-1), respectively, and re-arranging, you get exactly my equations from yours. Another way to say this is that I have applied Euler method with step size 1. Hope this helps
