From the motion picture soundtrack of Predator, composed by Alan Silvestri. It's not from the real soundtrack though (since that has become discontinued and is nearly impossible to attain) but it's still the same music.
Literally just found out this afternoon at the end of my work shift. I know exactly what I’m going to be watching this coming Saturday night. Thank you Mr. Weathers for all that you did for us. Rest In Peace. 😢❤️
@@stevemuzak8526 The theatrical release DIDN'T have it. According to my dad, literally nobody knew it was anything other than another Schwartznegger commando movie, even once the Predator started killing. Everyone thought it was some secret soviet stealth tech, right until it de-cloaked for the first time and a hundred jaws simultaneously hit the cinema floor.
@@RavenWolffe77 i had the same reaction. Didn't see the spaceship opening, knew it was an alien vs Arnie coz Mt Dad told me but I still got swept away and it didn't click until it de cloaked and I saw that perfect design
@@berzercher I know what he means.. But im saying its the best movie that involves some type of alien. Better than the "Alien" movies or any other sci-fi movies with extra terrestials. Its pretty much the perfect sci-fi movie.
This is not a Movie . This is a example for a movie. This is a masterpiece, People will watch this movie 1000 years later and still be awestruck . this will be in school books in future.
It's a good flick, but let's not get too carried away? _1000 years?..._ You can't even begin to imagine the world 1000 years from now - nobody at all but specialists in ancient history is going to care about Predator. 1000 years ago it was the year 1022: the cutting edge of modern entertainment was jousting, a traveling circus and dancing bears... - from your perspective 1000 years later, do you consider those things still electrify people's imaginations? Would a person from 1022 even be able to comprehend the idea of a film - or have any hope whatsoever of ever understanding what the thing is you're watching the, "film" - on and by what sorcery it got in there?... Try and tell someone about it and you'd be burned or boiled alive as a demon, on the spot.... In our terms, 1000 years is a very, very, long time - by then, even the whole idea of watching anything on stupid flat machines might be totally ridiculous, let alone one of the precious and goofy films those ancients used to sit and watch. Come on, now.
I saw this movie in theaters on my 5th birthday in St Louis at the theater next to showbiz as my family and i had my birthday first at Showbiz Pizza then saw this movie at the theater next door and we had a blast watching it.
Amen, I was thinking this the other day. We don't have great scores being produced like this era. Nor have i heard a badass compilation soundtrack of rock, metal, edm, etc.
RIP Carl Weathers "Carl Weathers will always be a legend. An extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person. We couldn’t have made Predator without him. And we certainly wouldn’t have had such a wonderful time making it." The Oak
As a kid my parents didn't let me see this movie's HBO premier, I never wanted to be up late so bad all my life. Probably a year later I had the chance to see it on VHS, and I watched it until I knew all freaking conversations in it. I just watched it again today, and I've already seen it 60+ times. This isn't just a movie for me, it's the golden era of action/sci-fi, with the best music, the best actors and the best time to be alive. It's a mood, and every time I hear the score, I know it's 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲!
I saw it in St. Louis theaters when I was five years old on my fifth birthday after we had the party at showbiz pizza then went to the movie theater next door to see it
I have your thing but with Conan the barbarian 1982. I know the tone, timing of speeches, not to mention when im walking, hanging around, and mentally i have a playlist with the soundtrack playing
Yo, Conan is awesome too, I've read the books, seen the movies. It's funny when you think about it: Arnold was an exceptional actor, even tho many ppl still makes fun of him 'cause the austrian accent. I bet there are still guys who think he got the roles for his muscles, but time prove them wrong. The writing and the actors of the late 80's, early 90's doesn't come back, we have to treasure those movies.
GhostbustersFan77 I don't care who you are back in the world, you give away our position one more time, I'll bleed ya, real quiet. Leave ya here. Got that?
mine was mad max when i was about 4 hehe, and robocop, will never forget the thrill watching those movies as a kid, this one i watched when i turned about 8, still remember the first time watching it aswell after i went with dad to the video store
@@EnlightMC you did good! The last predator with the girl is not a bad movie at all, but the absence of Arnold and his puns is something you can't make up for. "You're an ugly motherfucker!" 😁
I figured out this is the whole reason Prey just feels... off to me. Without Silvestri's theme, even as a watered down version, the creature in Prey feels like just that. A creature, not a Predator.
Predator Instinct takes some cues from this theme, but Prey's theme much better suits the Predator monster featured in the movie. PI is really good predator theme.
What a great movie. I absolutely LOVE how it switches from a macho, fairly standard 80’s action film to a slasher horror film at the start of the second act. Who knew Arnold Schwarzenegger would play the role of “final girl” so well? Predator is also one of the most quotable movies ever filmed, with so many gems tucked away in the dialogue. Even Final Fantasy XIV pays tribute with the quests “Ain’t Got Time To Breed” and “Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill It.”
watched Predator twice last week and I cannot help but reflect on it a week later just how genius and thrilling movies like this were back then. This movie not only showed that it’s okay to be a man but it’s necessary. They just don’t make it like these anymore.
Favorite part of this piece is how designed it is to create anxiety. The time signature that has a rhythm, but it takes a few bars to get into it, and it changes up as soon as you do. The whole piece keeps you off balance. Perfect.
My father just showed me this movie yesterday, and you know what? I freaking loved it. While some part of me wants to know how good it would be if they re-made it with present day technology and resources, a much bigger part of me wants it stay as a classic and keep that classic movie vibe. And despite being a part of the new generation, I've realized that no matter how good the visuals, story, or even characters get in the present day movie industry, classics like this can never be truly replaced. ...Also I don't want to see the original Predator without Arnold, because Arnold automatically makes any movie 5X better.
I think the main reason so many revamps come out too glossy is because the makers refuse to get actors who served in the military like McTiernan's team did. I mean Adrien Brody is cool, but seeing/believing him as a bad ass was tough.
Remakes are always awful. I agree with you, this is a classic, and should stay untouched. I'm OK with them making sequels, but I'd be upset if they remade the original.
Why does this unironically go hard as fuck? Literally what kind of movie does it say you're about to watch if this is the song they're pulling up in?!?!?!!
movie industry start listening, stop making so much damn CG start making real movies with real costumes looks way better and stays classic for years to come...
Exceptional composition by Alan Silvestri with an equally exceptional sound recording that brings it to levels of excellence that I have rarely had the opportunity to listen to. I was so enthusiastic that I use this recording to test stereo systems in all audible and dynamic ranges. Fantastic!!
There is no soundtrack in the entire history of cinema that releases as much testosterone in the veins with each piano hit as this musical masterpiece by Alan Silvestri
Arnold has said that his best movie that he loves is kindergarten cop because of the kids and the fact that he still didnt had kids till the movie(1990)his oldest child was born that year after the film which helped arnold became a great father
This should be the theme for "Hollywood" movies! What an experience to grow up with! I can't explain how excited I was to see Arnold Schwarzenegger for the first time! Theatre screen slowly went up, 20th century fox logo, Predator theme starts and I see Arnold with the cigar, getting down with his kits from the Chopper! Wow iconic movie!
That 6-note mechanical piano sound just perfectly encapsulates the feeling throughout the movie of “We’re fighting something that’s WAY smarter and stronger than us”
Rambo, Commando, Beverly Hills Cop, The Terminator, Cobra, Predator, RoboCop, Aliens, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Batman.... the 80's had the best movies. 🙂💪👍👌❤️
