Aye, I like Predator 2 more than the others. This one was pretty good. A Predator hunting planet is dope. Wish we would've got a sequel to this. This helps point out the different predators and their ideaology.
Yeah, Predators has a terrific set-up and pretty good characters even if they're more defined by "archetype" than behavior, but the muddled story isn't sustainable. Laurence Fishburn is always good but his character here is just kind of a bummer... once he shows up the film never really rebounds. The 3rd act should've been epic but it just felt like the filmmakers ran out of inspiration... like a great cover band that exhausted the catalog.
The 3 predators in this one are from the Super Predator Clan, a clan of predators that abandoned the honor code and became badbloods. They're basically criminals in the predator society, they believe they should hunt whatever they want however they want, whether their prey is strong, weak, heathly, sick, old or young it doesn't matter to them.
I saw this opening weekend, sad a lot of people don't know about that sword fighting scene. That thing is just 🤌 The wind moving that tall grass being lit only by the moon🙌🏼
Love this movie. I liked the twist at the end where the doctor is revealed as a serial killer back on Earth. The next Predator movie is ok at best. I'd say it's worth a watch, but it doesn't hold up to the other Predator movies.
I liked this one. This movie, the original & Predator II makes for a fun trilogy. Those are pretty much the only Predator films worth watching, though. I will say I recently watched The Predator & I actually had a good time. The first couple times I tried watching it, I couldn’t finish it, but maybe I was just in the right mood for it cause I enjoyed it quite a bit, though I don’t think I’d go so far as to recommend it.
Neat Reaction, PredatorS is so underrated, thank you for giving it a chance n not skipping over it The Predator from 2018 was weird but ya may enjoy it, there also Alien vs Predator. The other predator sequels are interesting, would make for curious reactions, seeing the pros and cons of how they turned out, please give em a chance, ya might be disappointed or pleasantly surprised.
So you know, Showdown.... Laurence Fishburne's character was originally gonna be, Danny Glover's character from, Predator 2, but they changed their minds....hoping to do something more with, Danny Glover in the future. A lot of people hated this movie, but I loved it. .....this is Predator 3 for me.
Man, I love Walton Goggins. He is so much fun to watch. Showdown, if you’re still looking for a series to watch look into ‘Vice Principals’ on HBO. Goggins and Danny McBride are MAGIC together 🤣🤣🤣
yeah I saw this in theaters and I loved it wished they had continued the story. I think they could've done great things with this concept going forward but what are you going to do missed opportunities.
The biggest two complaints about this movie, was the trailer promised more Predators than appears in the movie and Adrien Brody isn't an action star. It's not an outright terrible movie, but people have a point. Fun Fact: The plant that Edwin (Topher Grace) identifies as "Archaefructus liaoningensis" has actually been extinct for several million years; its origin lies in the Cretaceous Period. Angiosperm fossils were found in China, that are believed to be about one hundred twenty-five million years old, making it the world's earliest known flowering plant. In an earlier draft of the script, Edwin highlights the plant's origins, citing it as yet another inexplicable oddity, before they finally realize where they are. Historical Fact: Hanzo's name is a reference to Hattori Hanzo, a legendary Japanese samurai of the Sengoku era (1467-1573 A. D.). Hattori Hanzo is also the name of Shin'ichi Chiba's character in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), which was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez's good friend Quentin Tarantino.
I don't get the complaint about Adrien Brody not being an action star. Is the complaint about him being cast as the lead role or do people not feel he delivered?
A major game studio needs to take Predator, Predator 2, and Predators as the foundation to build a Mature rated 3rd person action game around. (If done right it would be a big success)
Thats not Venom, thats dr. Peepee (Eric Forman), oui oui peepee XD. This is a good watch with a few callbacks to the og. I like it less than the first 2 but good still. I d recommend AvP 1 but not 2. But Showdown, if we re gonna watch A Brody I gotta request Bullet 1996 1 more time dude! Another great watchalong, thumbs up!! Edit: Danny Trejo is always dope, I should mess up Mike Myers for killing him a couple eps back XD!
It’s tolerable , I love the other planet premise. The freaking callbacks are so stupid and it didn’t need Eric Foreman or Morpheus. I would of cut both of those characters out.
i thought predators was all right and when it comes to someone sacrificing themselves when facing the predator unlike billy from the first and king willy from the second movie we got to actually see it this time when the japanese guy fights the predator and i thought that scene was cool as the guy is waiting and you hear a thunder sound with the darkness and wind blowing through the grass and the predator reveals itself from being invincible and he actually killed the predator and then we see him die two and both their bodies drop and laying down that scene was done nicely , awesome!
Predator 2 is a worthy sequel for sure! Together with this one it makes a good trilogy. The Predator was a f* shit show. I like this one too, it's a bit underrated.
I loved this movie. They never continued with it because critics ripped it apart and people just didn't care. I saw it opening day and freaking left thirsting for more predator. And then I saw the new one....... I could write you an essay about how much I hate that movie. The newest movie looks like it'll be dope though. Predator against native Americans. Also the Yautja species alter there dna little by little, in order to create future generations of better hunters. The one that was chained up was a member of the hish clan, same clan as the one from the first movie. In fact, they used the same costume even. The hish are the most numerous of the Yautja species and are around the most clever as well. I forget which clan the alpha is a apart of but he is a newer generation but you can tell by his equipment and that fact he's on this planet hunting he was extremely accomplished for his age. I could also just write an essay talking about several topics in terms of this mythos. This and the evil Dead basically sum up my favorite franchises of all time
A couple of things...the female actress is Alice Braga and she was in the horror movie "The Rite" and "I am legend." and The black guy Mahershala Ali was in "The Green Book" "Blade" and "Moon Light" just to name a few. Actor Walton Goggins who was in "The Hateful Eight" "Django" and "Sons of Anarchy"
Yayyy!!! I love all the Alien/Predator movies and prequels ❤️ I'm still collecting all 13 ( ?) DVDs for my collection 🎥 this one is unique and totes classic scifi feel, thank you!! 👍👍👍 🍿
im surprised the russian didnt pick up on the fact that the doc lied about not having anything to cut himself down with after showing that he had a scalpel.
It was the perfect follow up. Could take it from there to Alien vs Predator with Royce + everyone who killed a Predator in a suto alliance against aliens.
This flick both ignored and tainted the established "Predator Mythology" which was featured both in movies and in the 90s Dark Horse comics. Previously you had predators proving their worth and their honor by hunting on alien worlds.. and they had sort of an honor code. In this one.. they kidnap a bunch of dudes and take them to a hunting reserve... they're basically quail. Also, Predator Hunting dogs? Really? So are these like the rich, lazy politician Predators that try to act badass but cant be bothered to do a real hunt? GTFO.
