I think that show was a charade to make us feel and care for the entire group. They were whole and talented from the start (it had to seem real though, so I think the kids didn’t know about JYP’s intent)
It was also a teaching lesson about the brutality of the industry. Each episode focused on the values that the team had to embrace (solidarity, hard work, respect of rivals and allies alike, authenticity, etc.)
