In this video, I share my thoughts on who the best FPL midfielders are for the 2024/2025 FPL season, predict the prices of each FPL midfielder and include their true value.

I did a simple analysis on your figures for the top five in your list where I looked at the cost/return ratio (basically the price/earnings ratio similar to equities). The top 5 therefore comes out at 1. Palmer 2. Saka 3. Foden 4. Son 5. Salah This is what I thought before doing this. Obviously it assumes these five play like last season and assumes consistency. So I'll be having Palmer and Saka in my team definitely. Foden no purely because he's not nailed and could still be used as an impact sub. Son no because he's showing inconsistency (my eye test for him). Salah no because he's just sooo expensive and there is doubt over how he plays with the new manager (my eye test for him). My stats for choosing someone are: 1. cost/return 2. they are nailed 3. eye test.

Agreed tbh, except dont sleep on Son. Usually an xGi overperformer, so stats realllly dont matter with him as much as others. Look at his mins and returns for the past 7 years, it tells you all you need to know. Mins = points LOL

Hmm I wonder if having a new manager will affect Salah at all, I'm not sure i want to risk him to start with. Bruno is so reliable, definitely would want him if he's 9 or less! I know you love Odegaard, I'm still not quite ready to go for him unless his price goes down a bit. Very interested to see Mbeumo's price, and if Toney leaves he might be on pens too 🐝

I think Salah is very consistent with 200 points in 7 straight years, so we know what we're getting. You know how every season there's a team that if you started with these 11 players, you'd be in the top 100k without making a transfer? I feel like Mbeumo & Bruno are more likely to be in that team than Mo, just from a value perspective. I cant like MJ, if Toney leaves, I thik Mbeumo is a lock to be in my GW1 team, even though the fixtures are mixed.

For a players to have 'value' they must, at least, be nailed to start. Trossard and Jota are impact subs so do NOT offer value. Foden is a rotation risk so again, his value reduces.

It depends how/when you need them. So I agree that Trossard and Jota are "impact subs" but once there is a path to good minutes for them, they instantly become the best 2nd option in their team. For example, if Havertz is injured for 2 months, I think Trossard outscores Odegaard and if Darwin is injured for 2 months, I think Jota outscores everyone other Liverpool mid except Mo. Foden is a slight "rotation risk", which reduces his value, yes I agree, but he also started only 33 games and had 230 points. so his performances speak for themselves.
