TBH the list feels a bit mixed up between potential break through players for 24/25 and just good young prospects (who are realistically still years away). But in addition to Baxter, the name I'd say to watch for at Quins is Nathan Jibulu at Hooker. He's the full package and I think will start demanding for gametime sooner rather than later!
Love this vid. Only possible additions I can think of are: Fasobogun (had an injury hit season, but few individuals have his dimensions and can move so expect to see him break through in style) L Chessum (another monster) Ma'asi White (with Manus replacement being 33 I can see him being used a lot). I'm a huge fan of Mitchelow, but can't see him getting much time at Sarries. As an aside, anyone else worried about the lack of FHs coming through? Linegar looked good at U18 but we have been lacking since F Smith came through
to be fair, do we need more fly halves? Fin Smith and Marcus Smith should be mainstays of the england team for the next 5-10 years. Behind them, the main issue seems to be not producing flyhalves, but keeping them in the prem, as other than Ford and the Smiths, the three best english fly halves are probably Farrell, Simmonds, and Umaga.
@@JohnRidley12 I think most national sides would be pretty happy to have Furbank as a 4th choice 10! I'd actually be quite happy to take Furbank to NZ as our 3rd choice, and leave Fin Smith at home. Ford and Marcus Smith should be enough cover at 10, and it will be easier to build squad depth where we really need it (11 & 12) without another specialist fly-half on the plane.
Love these shouts - in particular Ma’asi White who looks ready made - from what I can see - there are a bunch of fantastic, young, English 10s in the Championship, but you are right that there isn’t much outside of the household names who are coming through
great selections! I do suspect Lewis Chessum could beat out Joe Owen though. I also wonder what has happened to Afolabi Fasogbon? at the under 20s world cup he looked capable of breaking into the premiership but since then he's not only not broken through, but also slipped down the pecking order at u20s level
Yeah I suspect the (somehow) bigger chessum should break through soon - yeah he’s still in that Gloucester mix which doesn’t have much depth in the front row you’d hopefully expect to see him featured a bit more regularly - but they seem to be trying out other options, maybe a loan spell to Ealing would be a decent shout…
@@scrumrecap I was honestly very shocked that Finn Carnduff got a premiership before Chessum. Chessum seems on the face of it to be a better fit for senior rugby given his size, but I guess Carnduff is just very, very good. You might be right about Fasogbon benefitting from a loan spell - I think he did actually spend a period at Birmingham in the autumn.
Not sure Wills will make it. He’s physical at u20 level but lacks pace. He’s going to have to quicken up. Obi Ene id say his a better prospect and Albert Bradshaw apparently the best of the lot. Same for Bedlow. Not seen anything there. Suspect he will have to do the same as his brother. Osian Roberts at Sale is starting to feature too so I suspect he will overtake Bedlow if and when he bulks up. In terms of Sale players to pick, depending on your criteria. Asher as you mentioned, but Masai White is the one. He’s raw but I think he will be first choice at sale in 18 months. Bamber obviously doing well. Jordan Davies is a star at u18 level but presume he’s a few years off yet. Great video btw.
