Mesbah et al. report volitional motor outcomes in 20 individuals with clinically diagnosed motor complete spinal cord injury who underwent implantation of a spinal cord epidural stimulation unit. The extent of voluntary motor recovery correlated with the percentage coverage of the lumbosacral enlargement by the electrode array.
