I added the part info in the video description. I had the tank and hose. Just search for a Johnson Evenrude style and it will plug right in. Good luck. Jack

I figured it out I think. The prime bulb has a mechanism on both ends which doesn’t allow the gravity effect. I opened the arrow side and took out the seal and it works wonderfully. Been on 5hr no problem.

That is very interesting. Mine works without modifying the bulb. I am going to do some tests on new and older boat tank hose assemblies. Does your arrow on the bulb point towards the generator? Thanks for your response and sorry for my slow response.

Did you plug the vent line from the bottom of the tank? The one I added the shutoff valve to. I the line/vent is blocked off, a vacuum in the tank will be developed as the fuel in the tank is used and draw from the remote tank.

@@lifeintnchevalier yes arrow point to generator. I was looking around and found that end (the arrow side) of bulb has an inner seal that prevents gravity feeding. You can see if yours has by trying to prime the line with arrow pointing down. If the line doesn’t prime or you have to point the arrow up so it can prime then it has that seal. I’m not experienced with these things so I don’t know if it’s a recent added safety feature.

@@lifeintnchevalier yes it’s plugged. Sometimes I don’t know what happens but just shuts off randomly. The vacuum affect fills the generator tank by itself once I turn it on and sometimes it runs no problem other times it turns off again

@@DAMotorsports I know one thing, if I have the draw working and the line is filling the generator tank, if I take the gas cap off the generator, mine will flow gas. So mine will work without modifications to the bulb. My tank and hose is about 20 years old, they may have mandated changes to the line. I will see what I can find. Thanks for your input. My next video maybe on how to make the new lines work on this type of setup.

Don’t know what’s going on I resealed the cap and the brass attachment. I looked over the fuel line don’t see any leaks. I primed the bulb but I think once all the fuel is used up from the line that’s when it turns off. It’s like no fuel is flowing after it’s primed.

I ordered the parts should get started within a week or so. Looking over your video again, I removed the charcoal canister do you know if for this to work I need to cap all those lines? Thanks

I left my canister on. As long as you maintain the crank case vent and block off the larger hole on the filter cover you should be ok. On the gas tank vent valve (red one) that I added, you need to close the valve when on extended tank and open it when running the internal tank. If you close it when on internal tank, it will cause a vacuum in the tank and it will stall the generator. If you leave it open when on external tank, gas will come out the vent tube once the tank fills.

So all I need to do is buy that little valve and install it and just the cap and tank and hose, I will run just fine? The tank doesn’t tend to be higher at all?

Thanks for watching. Yes, that is all you need. The tank runs much better when about the generator tank. I run my generators in the bed of my truck when I go to the races or boondock. I have run the tank next to the generator on the bed of the truck and it worked fine but it did not run the remote tank out. Always works perfect with the remote tank on my tool box above the generator. It is nice to fill the remote tank and keep the generator running. I have a few friends with the same setup and they love it. Just make sure all your connections are tight. Once the siphon is started it should just keep flowing the fuel to the generator tank.

What’s the longest you’ve ran it continuously? I got everything setup it worked wonderfully the first day 10hrs. Then I tried running it again couple days later it ran for a couple hrs at a time.

Did you pump up the bulb before starting? Is the tank above the generator? I found if the boat tank is below the generator tank, it does not draw fuel all the time. Pumping the bulb is important to get the air out of the line. I just got back from a week long boondock and the Preditor ran 4 days with the boat tank. When the boat tank ran low, I filled it up and never had it go down. My Preditor is in the bed of my truck and the boat tank is on my tool box in front of the bed. Sounds like you have an air leak preventing the vacuum to work. May be at the cap to the generator tank.

One more thing to try if the seal at the Preditor fuel tank is good, loosen the cap on the boat gas tank to let it breath. My cap draws ok but I have heard people had an issue if there boat cap was on tight. May not be your issue but something to try

?? I would try another tank and hose assembly. There is a blockage or an air leak that is interrupting the siphon

Dose the fuel tank have a electric fuel pump to put the gas in the generator since your gas tank was setting lower then the generator?

No, it will draw up if all,the seals are tight and the air is pumped out of the line with the bulb. Best to have the boat tank above the Preditor tank.

It is the hose that comes from the tank to the canister. That is the vent line that starts at the top of the tank on the inside and delivers gas fumes from the top of the tank to the canister so the engine will burn them off. Because you are feeding the stock tank from the top, if you don’t block that line, fuel will travel down the hose to the canister and flood the carburetor. The remote tank will take care of venting as the fuel is consumed. Hope this helps

It’s like the vacuum affect is broken somewhere and it doesn’t feed the gas. That’s what I’m thinking it is.

It’s a hit or miss. It works most the time but sometimes fuel stops running into the generator tank. Even though the external is over half full.

Interesting, have you tried running with the gas cap on the remote tank loose so air is allowed in? The vent on the tank may not be working correctly. We just ran ours at a NASCAR race for 48 hours and all I did was fill the remote tank. Sorry you are having these issues. Regards. Jack
