I had prednisone for a week. Caused insomnia. Two years later I’m still struggling with the insomnia. Some nights I don’t sleep at all. It’s wreaking havoc in my life!
Don't take it I was prescribed it for a herniated disc and I fell into a steroid induced psychosis . Yes this is real and scary . I lost sense if myself and had immense hallucinations that almost caust me my sanity. I'm still recovering from it please be careful 🙏
Same hear and know exactly what is going on with you. i have a few comments above. Glad i am not the only one. i did 1 injection and 2 weeks later my immune falling and the worse phsychoses . just felt like i was calling out of a box in the ground and no one could do anything about it. all most 5 years and still depresion lowsy piano youtube with jelly bouncing fingers. and possible steroid indused auto immune problems but not complete on checks. life in hell deep for 4 years at its worse and don't think i'll ever gain any what i thought i had in life. sorry for the neg.
Hi, great vid. I just went down to 5 mg dose (going to do for 2 weeks, then 2.5mg for 2 weeks) i have gained quite a bit of weight during the last 3 months of taking it. I was wondering when I can expect to begin to go back to my original weight/lose weight?? Thanks
I know the effects and side effects of prednisone all too well. I've been taking it for years for systemic lupus. I've been on as much as 60 mg daily & down to 5 mg daily. When they try to ween my totally off, I end up in a severe lupus flare. So I have to be maintained on a small dose when in remission. I've had to undergo 8 total hip replacements due to aseptic necrosis caused by prednisone as well as 5 wrist replacement due to carpal lunate deterioration from prednisone - all by the time I was 38 years old. I also fracture very easily. I've been lucky to maintain a low weight of between 120 - 135 even while being on 60 mg of prednisone but I control the feeling of hunger prednisone causes.
Hi my son only 15yr old nd his got a topic eczema the dermatologist gave him prednisone tablets can u tel me how much vitamin d3 nd k2 he need to take. Thank you.
Hey I took It for 3 days but I was supposed to take it for 6 days I too 60, 50, 40 and now I feel headache, vomiting, and light headed please help me feel better I took head ach medication but it didn't work
I have been on prednisolone for 3 years! ^WARN’ don’t take it, it’s been one hell of a rollercoaster, If I could take back time, I would’ve told them to stuff it. I started on 60 MGs I have yo yo’d over the years and finally on the last 7 Mgs and no matter what I will stop this time round. 2 stone heavier! And had every side effect going, it ruins your life, stop and think… is it worth it? Try alternative therapy’s first. Good luck!
I hear you Clearly Sharm whitter. taking 5 years still and woder a full recovery from Steroid induced cushings Adrenal disfunction Immune attacking organs out of confusion in so many cases. So many People go through this and considered waste of time after the damage is done with no care in the world. Rather be a addict recovery than the Agony suffering and loss . many loose friends and even family considerations.
I was put on this drug without being told of its side effects. The biggest problem I'm experiencing is excessive urination. Up to 15 times a day. I need take in as much fluids as I lose. I'm asthmatic and have allergies. I was on it for only 5 days. I really hate it.
People will ignore you like they did me. 5 years and recovering not the same. use to be healthy . recovering A E/R DOC said it mite have side effects. after he left.2 nurses came in to give injection telling me loudly are you sure you can take this . i said i did not know whether i am sure of what you said and then laugh the urse getting injection needle ready and upset a bit saying just this. I DON'T KNOW BUT I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD BE TAKING THIS INJECTION. i said back oh i wish i knew what your getting at. and she said well i don't know i don't know. this for swelling of poison ivy. about 3 weeks to a months later i was home alone scared to death of life. phsychoses witch i have never experienced in my life. family soon had to come take care of me witch they never did be for and i did actually notice how worryed they were. some easy brusing terrible verdigo . no sleep for who can sleep with a constant fear . Doc 2 years after injection said i have a indused cushings syndrome. 1 said it caused brain fat loss witch i had no clue what that meant. so many things going on. now 3 years starting to go out side. recovery seeing a couple friends i have not been with and 4 months later lost friend ship. started going through a hormone imbalance roid rage. i would get upset go mad at time and just freak out. family decided to slact visits and year after relation problems gone bad as it is still today. i still have verdigo but a little less and moody missunderstanding and Flunked bad on my you tube chanel piano saying its practice . no its just that i can't concentrate and my finger's feel lite and jelly like. slow agonizing recovery i would not wish on my worse enemy except the aschwits nazi
After inhaling the refrigerator, I decided not to take the drug. I will deal with the pain of multiple issues. Drugs are not for everyone, especially me.

Been on Pred for over 20 years, min dose poss, 8mg, have chronic asthma, it’s Pred or the Asthma. Started age 43, has given me over 20 years mobility etc, have developed Diverticulitis, probably because Pred screws up the digestive tract, now having to take 12 mg to control Asthma. Age now 68, hoping I don’t fall apart too soon. Watch diet very carefully.
@@JuanGarcia-re8yj Hi, yes, tiredness if I go low on Pred, as body needs adrenaline to pep it up, recent diverticulitis, flares up about once a year, apart from that, so far so good, get regular bone density scans and as I have been working as a gardener for 20 years all ok there (excessive, sun, load bearing), just retired to Germany, back down to 8 milligrams. Also take lots of sauerkraut, kefir etc as prednisolone screws up gut flora, like anti biotics.
I was prescribed predisone for poison ivy for two weeks, i now have peripheral neuropathy. I took 40mg per day for 2 weeks. is there anything i can do. i'm freaken out and pissed.
My Dr. Prescribed Prednisone , 20 mg. 4 Days - 3 Pills A Day , Next 3 Pills - 3Days , 2 Pills - 3 Days , 1Pill - 3 Days , Taper Down . Is That Uncommon ? Thank You ! Very Good Video !
Tapering off Prednisone is very common and actually recommended to avoid adverse effects sometimes called steroid withdrawal symptoms. Thanks for watching. I appreciate you.
Had a steroid shot in my right hip last and this morning I’m in severe cramping in both legs and buttocks and back. Is this normal it keeps progressing
its a secrete poison that puts you in pain and possibly suicide. you can't blame or produce proof of any of your mistakes in taking this poison. i don't want to take risk coming up with this truth but trying to warn by helping one who becomes the next ignorance being Caught up in this foul danger even possibly Murder if one who so dares to choose such words.
Started on 2019 we get to know about brain tumor on 2022 and surgery done on Aug 22 but after a few months startup like he was going crazy and soo much strange that was!!
can 7 days of 20 mg first day next day 17,5 mg down to 2,5 reduce by 2,5 mg give big side effect i am Healthy i just have problem with shoulder for years And i wanna try if this helps ? 🙏🏻
Any length of days can theoretically cause side effects, but generally the longer you are on, the greater the risks. A 7 day taper like you are doing is not unusual. Wishing you the best.
I'm sure it has already been answered....most folks here know about Prednisone... but my question is about the extended release vs a 7 day pack. I hope that makes sense. Thank You !
@@jessicashoup6087 So sorry I wasn't clear. I guess My question is which one works better for reducing inflammation..yet with the least accompanying side effects? I hope that makes sense and Thank You in advance for any information.
@@matthewchapman2494 Thanks! I am not a doctor or healthcare professional. But, in my experience the pack can be effective. It’s a mild steroid. Prednisone is stronger and has a higher risk of side effects. However, I have also taken prednisone before with success.
Yes. I got this after 30yrs of use!!! My BP became dangerously high and uncontrolled. Had the fat bumps on neck and severe anxiety. All this despite the fact that I only took 3 mg a day. After two years and almost dying from one of the many high Bp attacks, a doctor connected the dots. Took me off prednisone and gave me my life back. I am on the mend but regret damage done to my heart in the interim. It’s amazing how many doctors were clueless to this …..I consulted all my doctors and some new ones. Finally, my new one nailed it. She saved my life as Cushings is deadly.
@@cindybedient1659 hi. No. I did not get diabetes, however, I have gotten progressively sicker and sicker over the last two years. Two years ago, after 28 years of using prednisone, I started getting more and more anxiety, and wound up in the emergency room with dangerously high blood pressure. I also noticed the slight bumps, fatty looking, on my neck. I showed it to my endocrinologist, my rheumatologist, my oncologist, my general practitioner, and anyone that would listen. I believe it’s crazy that no one of my health professionals even were able to connect the dots. Cushing’s syndrome or any kind of Cushing’s presents with fat bumps. Doh. I digress. The blood pressure episodes lessened and I was labeled to have an anxiety disorder. Over the last two years, I was on six different blood pressure medication at once. I finally self diagnosed and started asking more and more questions of new doctors, and one connected the dots with me! I took my last dose of prednisone two days ago and I’m already seeing a huge improvement. I believe I would’ve died in short order as my BP attacks were horrible. Other symptoms aside from anxiety, sleeping disorders, Gastro issues, dangerously high blood pressure, disassociation, depression and confusion. I was told to stay on the low-dose because it was life-sustaining. That was all BS. Hope you feel better soon.
Im sorry to hear that. My son had all the signs of cushings after taking prednisone for 2 weeks at the age of 9. At the age of 10 rushed to hospital with Type 1 diabetes. And all the symptoms of cushings was gone. Im just trying to see if this has happened to other people. Thank you
@@cindybedient1659 omg. Poor child. Now that is aweful. Is he better now? I’m hoping all the BP issues ease up for me. The two years or so that it was controlled with a bunch of meds was difficult but this out break really bought it to a head and luckily one doctor is helping me. I am on less meds and hopefully it will resolve for me (some damage is permanent ). Hope your son is ok.
@@HealthRX I can't stop moving ugh. I was hospitalised for 4 days for having an asthma attack, it was horrible. I hated taking the nebuliser as it would make my heart beat faster and it would make me very jittery. The asthma attack was so intense that I cried.
Oh wow! Sorry about the asthma attack. Steroids in general will cause those jitters. Only advice I can give is to take it as far away from bedtime as possible. Else your sleep will also be compromised and then u wake up feeling more jittery and the cycle continues. I hope that is not your story and I wish u all the best.
My brother has been badly effected by this medicine, he cant sleep at all only getting 1-3 hours sleep every night for half a year now. He needs help. Please help 😭😭😭
go to try to use Arthron 5. It is a canadian licensed natural products. It can help you recover. but needs a lot of time can be over 6 months. but it is better than continue sufferenring . steroid ? please do not use it. addiction medicine? it need a lot of time to get it off from body.
Your brother can do what I am currently doing successfully. Not only am I getting sleep, I've lost weight, and my skin is glowing. Have your brother check out the Mucusless Diet Healing System. Basically he would have to transition his current diet to a strict diet of fruits & leafy greens. I completely removed salt & processed/packaged food. I got extreme bexause this medication is extreme. Im on it long if your brother is on it long term as well he needs to get extreme.
Chason John thanks so much for that i will definately let him know.. Hes gotten abit better but he will definayely wanna try this thank you for taking your time out to let me know how its helped you :) And he doesnt take it anymore hasnt been for thw last 8 months these are the after effects for him i strongly think its because he wasnt weaned off it. @@abdullahi08 ok well step one REREAD my reply above it details exactly what I am doing.. And when you google Mucusless Healing System i caution you, resist feeling fearful about taking on such a strict diet....ask yourself,, "Do I deserve to be healed? Do I deserve to feel healthy?" Lastly, come back here and reread this testimony....since coming off of lomg term use prednisone I have done all the necessary tests to discover no damage has been done to my body. I have continued to lose weight. My eyesight has continued to improve. You can do this. You deserve to be healthy.
