Join The Ohio State University Marching Band for its pregame performance before Ohio State faced Notre Dame on Sept. 3, 2022. Bradley Krak was the i-dotter for Script Ohio.
I still get goosebump's the minute the band starts down the ramp. They just seem to be gliding and it is an awesome sight to see. So glad my grandson had the opportunity to be part of TBDBITL for 3 years.
When friends ask why I don't watch NFL football, I show them videos like this. The incredible pageantry, rituals, colors, and traditions well over 100 years old performed and played in larger stadiums for larger crowds that often have personal connections to the team, the university, or the community.
The members of the band change every year. But the performance stays the same giving it a timeless spirituality that lifts the heart. I never tire of watching the pregame.
Try 70 years ago. OSU played Iowa and won 83-21. I was in the south end zone seats and had the band coming directly at me as they marched from north to south. Truly a life changing experience and they were only 120 in number in those days. It seems like yesterday.....
Hello from Michigan. I became a fan of this band when I heard it had no woodwinds! True story. 100% brass is much more powerful. Like drum corps. But golly! Where was the microphone for this recording? Dayton?
I’m a marching band geek my whole life and WHAT A GAS it would be to see/hear OSU and Texas A&M do their shows back to back!!! Two historically great programs with radically distinctly different, yet excellent, styles…
Believe me, the i-dotter was bummed, too. Carmen is their chance to soak it in after script. The very fun Navy sky divers took up a lot of pregame time and something had to be cut, so they moved Carmen to halftime. Ah well. O-H!
tosu already had the u.s. navy leap frog parachute team scheduled for pre-game, which btw was absolutely spectacular. plus the osumb had about 250-300 lighted drones as part of its halftime show which was amazing in the night sky above the south stands scoreboard. that said, in a game of this stature between 2 such tradition-rich programs, i wish the nd band would have been allowed to march at least pre-game. i know sitting in michigan stadium last year and seeing, for the first time ever to my knowledge, the osumb sitting not on the field as it has for decades but literally at the top of the stands in the southeast corner, it felt very wrong. um said it was due to pandemic protocols. i hope that was the case.
@@jamesmarkscott6202 I was at the game sitting near the band and was absolutely pissed they were forced to sit in the nosebleed sections. Though it was nice to be able to hear them clear as day from my seat
@@nicholasbenge9497 well what do you know? Iowa's marching band not only did pregame prior to tbdbitl, but also did a combined halftime show featuring the music of Elton John that he actually saw a recording of and replied on Twitter.
