Thanks so much for watching! I did not cover ALIEN PREGNANCY in this video because there was SO MUCH to cover already. Alien pregnancy will be another video coming soon! ALSO, A CORRECTION - In Sims 4, the pregnant belly does not grow gradually as I said in the video. I always assumed it was gradual, since you don't get a "pop" like in Sims 2, and I could find no official information stating that's how it worked. But, the truth is the baby bump increases in size once in second trimester and once in the third trimester. Your Sim will get an instant bump if they take a pregnancy test.

If you are having trouble getting your male sims pregnant in TS3, 3 Dudes on a lot, spawn space rocks via buydebug, have the dudes look through the telescope, and just keep trying. You won't know until 10hrs after abduction.

the sims 3 is definitely my favorite for pregnancy. the specific wishes that the parent sims get like reading pregnancy books, which gender they are hoping for, & all of the random things your pregnant sim will crave is so fun! it feels like both parents are affected by the pregnancy! i also love how they will get wishes when they WANT to have kids, like in the sims 2.

Both yes and no. Pregnant women shouldn’t but it annoys me when the Sims team take away our will to choose. 😠 What will you do when you have a pregnant sim living alone with a cat. 🤔 And a pregnant woman can clean a litter box. It’s just more important to wash your hands and take care. Which everyone should always do after cleaning a litter box! 🙄

My favorite thing about sims 3 is that when you invite a pregnant sim to a costume party, they'll go without a costume and be like "Do you like my costume? I should wear it for X more hours", depending on how much they have left of the pregnancy.

FUN FACT: in The Sims 3 you can hear the sounds of the building if you come close to the rabbit hole. If the sim is having a baby instead of typical hospital beeping you can also hear the baby crying. :)

Only thing you didn't mention: in the Sims 2: Open For Business, if your pregnant Sim eats cheesecake it will increase the chances of having twins. The early version of the 100 Baby Challenge was called "The Cheesecake Challenge" for this reason.

It doesn't merely increase the chances (even though that's what the Prima guide claimed)- it GUARANTEES that the sim will have twins.

Omg the Sims 2 not allowing pregnant Sims cleaning the litterbox is really clever! It's a reference to toxoplasmosis, a parasite found in cat feces that can be fatal for an unborn baby.

Though cleaning the litterbox doesn't cause toxoplasmosis just like that, it's a big myth! So... I wish they could do it anyways.

@@anaorlandini1138 it is still recommended to avoid cleaning the litter box when you're pregnant. Of course you can still do it with some hygienic measurements such as wearing gloves and washing your hands before touching your clothes or other parts of your body (from where the toxoplasmosis can eventually get into your mouth).

@@anaorlandini1138 Exactly, it's more of a danger if you ingest the cysts. Just being near cat feces isn't dangerous, it even takes a couple days for the cysts in the feces to become infectious so if the litterbox is cleaned everyday you can keep the environment clean, especially if you use that scoop? thing to pick up the feces, as happens in the games already, because who would want to touch feces with their hands? This myth is sad, too many cats have been abandoned or put down due to fear that their mere presence will cause problems for the baby :( It's a greater risk to eat undercooked meat, because it can have cysts that can cause infection, in fact there was a fad once of giving young women deliberately contaminated meat, since it's only a risk if you get infected DURING the pregnancy, if you get infected before your body will already be equipped to combat it and the baby will be unharmed. So just make sure to cook your meat thoroughly, clean the litter box everyday, and wash your hands before eating. You should already be doing all of those things already, so please don't blame the poor cat 🐈 ❤️

In the sims 3, if you listen to the kids radio station AND watch the kids channel on tv at the same time, you're increasing the odds for triplets. If you only do one instead of both, you're increasing the odds for twins.

while a hassle in sims 3 procreation elixir more or less guarantees triplets but you wont know this until the second or third trimester... my 2 timing sim ended up having 7 children this way....

In Sims 3 there is a fertility reward trait that increases the chances of having successful try for babies plus having twins etc.

Some might view these videos as childish because they're about The Sims as a franchise, but it's clear how much love you have for the games and your videos are a perfect example of how age shouldn't factor into whether you can like something. if your female sim goes to the vacation and gets pregnant in the sims 3, the baby will have a hidden trait affecting how they greet with other sims and the way they are greeting depends on the country they are “from”:)

Actually, in the sims 3, you CAN alter how many babies you have! If the pregnant sim listens to kids music and/or watches kids tv long enough, her chances of twins and triplets greatly increase!

In the Sims 3, the Sims will also get cravings before they enter the second trimester. My sims will often get wants to eat certain foods, like apple cobbler or spaghetti and ice cream, before they get the pregnancy moodlet, and that signals to me that they are pregnant.

One cool thing I've sometimes seen in the Sims 2 is when pregnant sims rub their own belly. Don't know if it can happen in the other games though

Usually in the sims 3 if they have no action to do they will get the pregnancy moodlet icon above their head in a thought bubble and will rub their own belly. Pretty sure I’ve seen them do it in the sims 4 as well

Okay some extra information for the sims 3: 1. Just because you didn't hear the lullaby, doesn't mean your Sim isn't pregnant. There's a chance that she's pregnant, even if the Lullaby wasn't there. It just means, if you hear it, she's 100% pregnant 2. If you want a girl, avoid eating Pancake, more specific, apple pancake. It still counts, even tho there's probably not that much apple in it Hope that helps

I'm not a huge fan of the sims 4- the UI drives me nuts and I just get overwhelmed by the gameplay, but I won't deny that I really think it has the best pregnancy gameplay, and the toddlers are really really adorable

I know this video is almost 2 years old, but here's hoping she eventually does a redux of this particular video with the additional info that as of March 14th 2023, the new lifestage in the sims 4; infant will expand upon what we currently have in game as far as babies go (although it likely won't be for a while yet as she's going through some rough times personally right now).

After playing the games TONS in my teens and early 20s, then going years before revisiting Sims 4, I get so confused now when certain things are “missing” In the game. When my friend and I were like 11 his mom let him play the sims 2 and there was one rule we had to follow: no baby-making/woohoo. Like the preteens we were, we got curious about what woohoo was and selected the option, but he misclicked and the baby chimes went off and we didn't know what that meant and when the game finally announced the pregnancy we panicked and built a pool and had her swim and took away the ladder and we watched her drown simply so we wouldn't get in trouble 😭😭😭

i never got to play sims 2 sadly but the lullaby in sims 3 always made me smile bc it was so cute and it was always a house i played so i always got super excited hearing it hence why i play sims 3 more than sims 4 to this day ( i excited bc im only at work until 4pm today and i have the next two days off so i can play tons of sims 3

In Sims 3 you can also influence how many children your sim will have. If you want twins and you put them listening to kids' music or watching the children channel your odds of twins increase dramatically. If you over do it throughout the pregnancy you can even have triplets!

Two things to note. In Sims 3, if you ask Sim in Medical career to tell the baby gender, that will fix the baby's gender permanently and you can't influence it anymore with the apples and watermelons. And in Sims 4, the option to go to hospital is available if Get to Work is not installed, but then, it works just like the "rabithole" careers. The pregnant Sim will leave the lot and returns a few hours later with the baby. I don't remember anymore if you can choose other Sims to go to the hospital with the preggie, but if I do remember correctly from my pregnancies before I've got GTW, if you click on the preggie while another Sim is active and send the preggie to hospital, that active Sim will go there too, just like in Sims 3.

Just finished the 100 baby challenge in TS4, never had to go to a second generation matriarch. Having needs filled while at the hospital is WONDERFUL when you always have more children running around. However, my matriarch had most motives locked through rewards, so actually when she got home, she usually had to fulfill a few needs. Energy was half and hunger usually was as well. But once satisfied they stayed that way until the next baby. Never played TS3 much. TS2 is still my favorite but TS4 pregnancy is the most realistic.

Great video, thanks for the trip down memory lane! LOL I just reached the birth in #4 and you said the nice thing about it is that all the birth parent's needs will be met before leaving the hospital. This is not always true. I tend to bust my Sims' butts to get rid of their needs (hunger, sleep, shower and bladder is numero uno to go) as soon as I possibly can, basically cuz they waste enough of my rl time and I don't want to have to deal with it in the Sims. Anywho, I pump out twins/triplets on a fairly regular basis and for me and my no-needs Sim having a baby, it's a complete pain in the butt. When you have Never Weary, Forever Fresh, Steel Bladder, Forever Full, Needs No One... I find most of their previously 100% full needs cut nearly in half. They slouch out of the hospital like they've been barfed up by a cowplant and they're just as hungry as the newborns. They need to eat, to pee, to shower, to sleep and to have social interactions. Always. In my PS4 experience at least. Also you missed one of the ways to influence your baby's gender- which tv stations your Sim watches will also impact this. :) Also even, in #2 I fondly recall hours spent cramming my expecting Sim with spaghetti to bump up the odds of twins. I literally had the other parent constantly cooking and only let the preggo go pee or nap if it was unavoidable. >.>

the sims 3 is the one that seems to get the player the most involved with the pregnancy. being able to pick the kid's traits or not is a really good motivation to manage the pregnancy. i also just love that there are options to alleviate symptoms like getting the massage for backaches. that is an aspect of pregnancy i would love for more people to be exposed to in general. i have a whole wishlist for babies and pregnancy that i don't think is a priority for the sims franchise, but it would be really cool to have babies born with relationship from prenatal interactions, some more reaction animations to fetal movements like kicks or hiccups, having sims be able to do some labor support interactions, being able to wear the baby or even just kiss their face! that last one even extends to toddlers. i keep wanting to do affectionate socials with toddlers and there isn't much there in game.

In Sims 4 when the machine dropped a bundle into the bassinet/incubator… I have no idea what mod it is I have that did this but something I put into my game unlocked that bundle as a placeable item and… it’s honestly the most heart breaking item in The Sims. Hovering over it in build mode’s catalogue tells you it’s a “stillborn”. :( I cry every time I have to pass it to find items in build mode… and now I’m glad I stopped using hospital births in S4.

I learned new things about sims 4! Thanks for the video, Cindy! It's always a treat. I have been working long hard days as a hotel GM and, lately, I've been working in housekeeping cleaning rooms. The highlight of my day has been listening to your Pleasantview LP from the beginning while I'm cleaning toilets and making beds. I just started episode 60!!!

i just want you to know how much i LOVE these videos for deciding which of the series i want to play and with which gameplay styles. sims 4 is for my challenges; sims 2 is for me to explore the sims nostalgia, experience weird and wacky things, and amazing depth of character development; and sims 3 is just a joy to play when it comes to a bustling, active, synchronized neighborhood.

I play sims four, one time I sent my sim to work and she came back with a bigger baby bump, her husband was glitching in the kitchen because of the high chair, and her sister and her sisters girlfriend were sleeping upstairs.

If your Sim has Super Fertility (the aspiration benefit for Family Sims with Freetime) the number of babies is determined when the Sim gets the first baby bump.

in sims 3 if you have a costume party with a pregnant sim in attendance, a message will pop up saying how many hours are left until she gives birth!

Little interesting fact, the size of the first trimester baby bump from the sims 4 can be influenced before the try for baby interaction. One of the sliders you get to use when making a sim is you drag the sims tummy in our out. The more in the belly is, the less visible the first trimester's baby bump will be. If you use can.fulleditmode cheat during gameplay you can modify your sim even after gameplay started, but once a sims is pregnant, even if not in the first trimester, the option to modify belly size is removed (that's one way to check if pregnant without using a test, unless it was fixed).

I would like to point out that you don't have to check in at the front desk to give birth in The Sims 4. You can just wait and eventually the interaction will happen regardless.

I think there was music you could listen to to have twins or triplets? Lullabies or something? I play in spanish so I'm not sure. Also! I'm pretty sure that if your sim goes on vacation while pregnant, they'll have to end it early if they go into labor

One thing that I always find extremely funny is when twins or triplets get the mood let that says they’re sad over new siblings when the siblings are their twins or triplets

The game gives a baby bump right after a pregnancy test because without a pregnancy test it takes them 1day to realize they’re pregnant. And that’s when they go into the second trimester by taking a pregnancy test you’re speeding up the process of them realizing they’re pregnant

In TS4, labor does occur at a specific time, it just doesn’t tell you. 24 hours after entering 3rd trimester between the 30th and 35th minutes of the hour

Sims 2: Seeing the bump pop out is highly amusing, and the cutscene showing the 2nd plumbob is cute Sims 3: My personal fave Sims 4: Probably the most realistic, although a part of me prefers the lullaby over the pregnancy test

I personally prefer Sims 2 (the gradual baby bumps are adorable but I like the bumps functioning as trimester indicators) although I do think it’s one of the things done well in TS4! I remember two of my sims tried for a baby and to my & their surprise they had triplets, all boys 😅
