As a Mama, Nurse and currently 26weeks pregnant there are tons of questions floating around in all of our minds on COVID-19 / coronavirus and what kind of threat it is to our pregnancies.

I have been approached frequently through social media (Instagram: @TheGingyPants ) by other pregnant mamas asking my thoughts on being pregnant and the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a DISCLAIMER: I am not a physician or scientist. I do currently work in the medical field as a Nurse and am currently 26 weeks pregnant.
This video was a collection of information read on reliable websites such as the CDC.gov, WHo, and interviews with physicians around the world. (Links can be found below)
Information is changing day to day but here is some general information I have gathered on COVID-19 and pregnancy.
Pregnancy, in general, creates a lot of anxiety for expecting Mamas, adding a pandemic to the mix definitely has everyone on edge.
I am choosing:
Peace over Panic,
Faith over Fear,
Wisdom over Worry.
And encouraging everyone to try & remember to be KIND!

Hey Heather! I hope all is well with you and you continue to stay healthy throughout your pregnancy! I am being induced on Wednesday and feeling a bit emotional knowing my daughter won't be an only child anymore and all of the stress from the unknown of the virus is just amplifying everything! 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my first and it’s a very scary time 🙈 thank you for sharing your knowledge on this! I had not found a lot regarding pregnancy while Covid-19 is a pandemic. As of right now they are only allowing one support person during delivery and visitation with me, and even that could change. Hoping this stays contained and we get to at least have one person with us. You’re about 11 weeks behind me, I hope this gets better for you by then! Thank you so much for the update ♥️♥️♥️

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and super anxious. I haven't been for my first docs appointment but I'm scheduling one as we are in lockdown here in New Zealand. Wondering if you can do a diary like video of how you eat throughout your pregnancy and what you do to stay healthy. Thank you and sending lots of love and hugs xx

I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant with my first baby and work at a hospital. It has been extremely difficult during this time. My husband hasn’t been able to be involved in any of my appointments. It has been a little lonely and disappointing that I haven’t been able to share this experience with my husband. Thank you for all the helpful information!

Currently 39 weeks pregnant and it’s definitely a crazy time! Luckily my hospital is still allowing the dad to come with laboring moms ❤️ just no other visitors

I am 37 weeks pregnant with my first, I’m terrified. 😓 such a special time, and fear is just taking over. I been healthy, but exposing baby and myself to hospital and drs office really worries me. Over 600 cases and 16 deaths in my county, so several very close. I just worry baby could become a carrier so then I worry about our parents holding him and them getting it. ☹️

I'm in the UK and booked in for a C-section tomorrow morning. Feeling a lot of anxiety so watching your informative video is really helpful. My partner is able to be with me in the hospital but no other visitors. We're currently trying to figure out how we should manage visitors when we get home. Would you personally allow any visitors at all? Best of luck with your pregnancy!

Hi! Im due soon also. Was discussing this with my other half and came to the conclusion that we will ring freinds and family to inform them that the baby is born but will also add that we do not want any visitors anytime soon due to the virus going around and having a fragile newborn baby :) it sounds quite militant but the saftey of the baby is alot more important. Good luck! x

Personally no I would try to restrict or limit visitors! I know this is difficult... but 🤷🏼‍♀️ and immediate family I would check their temps watch them thoroughly clean their hands and ask the to come directly from home in clean clothing ... also leave their shoes outside of your home ... have hand sanitizer And of course if they have anyyyy symptoms of being sick tell them they are not welcome to visit until they are feeling healthy This is your baby and YOUR rules!!
