Pregnancy Q&A! IVF, Cravings & More! 

I decided to not know the gender of my baby, despite family and friend's pressure. At the end of a painful and long labour, I was surprised by my beautiful baby girl. I had secretly hoped for a girl but would have loved the baby regardless.

I've just been through an IVF as well and I'm currently pregnant with twins. Infertility is tough but I'm glad it turned out well for us all! I'm suffering with sickness the whole day as well and I would prefer to have morning sickness, maybe through up and rather than feel the way I do the whole day 😖 Anyways, happy for you guys! 2022 is our year, finally!! They should have a new word to describe the feeling when that baby comes out, it is a mix of euphoria, extreme happiness, relief, wonder, it is so amazing, I don’t have video of the birth of my daughter (30) but the memories never fade 🥰

We are excited and happy for your upcoming blessed arrival. I am Chinese and my husband is of European descent. Raising our daughters I thought teaching our children Cantonese would be a bit disrespectful of my husband. We found this to be so not true! Exposing them to any/all languages as early as possible is very beneficial! Go for it if that’s what works for your family! Drew, learning the Cantonese word for passing gas is hilarious! My husband knows most Chinese words for food and my mom says his speaking/tone is much better! Good luck and much happiness ❤️

My daughter is pregnant with IVF Baby #2. IVF Baby #1 is my precious grandson. My daughter and son-in-law went thru 3 procedures after the first baby in order to be blessed with baby #2. I am in AWE of what the Mamas go thru with IVF. (Sorry, Drew.. Your part is important too. Just not as complicated and painful). But the outcome makes it all worth it. I can't wait to follow you on your journey. So, so happy for you! ❤️

It’s so good to see you both looking so well. I used to have thyroid issues, until I learned it could be corrected by my diet. My issue was hypothyroidism. It turns out that I wasn’t including enough vegetables in my diet, especially greens of all sorts. I was on the replacement hormones, but under the very watchful eyes of my doctor, we both learned it worked! Please do check it out. It may be one less thing you’ll have to deal with for a lifetime. God bless you both and I am looking forward to the sweet little love nugget to make an appearance.

Enjoy all the snuggles! No matter what do what is best for your family. If you want to snuggle your baby or toddler, and help them fall asleep it is great. Let people bring you easy go eat food or snacks after baby is born or help with house chores. If you have a small pet under ten pounds practice holding the pet in one arm, and cooking or doing daily tasks with one hand. I hope you and Linda have a great week!

My son & his wife had to use IVF because she had female issues. The first time they put in 2 & got 1 girl and the second they put in the remaining 3 and got twin boys. All together they spent almost $20,000 for their three beautiful children. It's tough if you don't have the resources for IVF. Congratulations on your baby.

You two are amazing. I know you will get a lot of advice in this journey. Just trust your gut and don't over research stuff. Just look at people who you feel are good parents and focus on what they do well.

I too have thyroid issues. A German Naturopath helped me, and 3 months after returning home I became pregnant. I have three beautiful children who are now grown. My last pregnancy was miserable as I was sick everyday, all day for 7 months and had to go on special nutrition. I only gained nine pounds my entire pregnancy. Gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. All grown up now. Linda & I love our Pasta the same way. Simple! Butter, garlic, cheese. I still love it that way. Sometimes adding panko bread crumbs on top and baking at 400° for 15 minutes. Will you be sharing your nursery Reno (decor) or will it reveal the gender. I have decorated many nurseries, maybe you can share a few things without giving away the gender. Will you have a baby garden growing your own organic baby food? I did, learning from my great German Aunt. Of course that is in the future, but the process of building the garden nursery was a process I enjoyed. Teaching your children another language and your culture is so important. I am of German & Polish descent & spent some time in France as I have Polish cousins who have made Southern France their home. So I took French in College. My children grew up learning four languages & my youngest also speaks Flemish & Spanish. I know your baby is not going to be spoiled, but nurtured & loved beyond measure. How fortunate to have you as parents and all the love of extended family, & loving grandparents. Love your sharing your baby experience with us. Excited to see this beautiful life you have created upon the arrival! Did you share the birth month? I don't remember hearing if you had. I now look up & see I have written a short story. Oh my! From Massachusetts. I remember in one of your past shows when you were done with your house, Drew's Mom came to see it, and she said she was so happy to have Linda as her like a daughter, and not as only a daughter-in-law. I had slightly low thyroid and it wasn't diagnosed, so all my deliveries were delayed, and I had to have surgery. Then, my thyroid wasn't diagnosed for several more years. I hope for the best for Linda that you have a good childbirth experience. Literally, the best thing to do at birth is to breastfeed right away or within a few minutes after. Then both Mom and baby have no bonding issues.

My husband always had to do my shots because I couldn't reach and do it properly myself...and boy did he ever feel horrible if I got a big bruise or if I bled a lot...poor guy. IVF is definitely work and definitely a chellenge...but I am forever grateful we were able to do it. My little girl is just so precious in so many ways to us and I can't imagine life without her now. Do I miss having some of that alone time for myself, sure who doesn't but I wouldn't change it, everything is so unimportant now in hindsight when I look back.

I’m a new subscriber wishing your little family many joyful memories and blessings. I had my daughters in 1977 and 1983 (twins). I did a completely natural birth, ie, no drugs. We took childbirth classes that I highly recommend. The instructor would tell us of different things that may or may not happen leading up to and including birth. I remember how glad I was that I remembered her saying that sometimes during labor that I may start to shake uncontrollably and that was perfectly normal and not to be alarmed. When that happened, I remembered and remained calm. That was SO helpful because the other part of the class taught me to relax EVERY muscle. You can’t do that if you’re worried. Relaxed muscles = greatly reduced pain, shorter birth duration and easier birth for the baby. I look forward to cheering on your journey!

Congrats. My son and his wife didnt want to know the sex of their baby and we were all surprised after a few days of labor. Being a nurse myself I was sure it was a girl. We couldn’t love our little Emmett any more. He is 19 months now and the joy of our lives! Love from NB Canada!

It’s been 30 years since I had a baby. But I’ve been had hypothyroidism since about I was 25. The doctors had to play catch-up with my thyroid levels throughout my pregnancy.

I wish I'd known: My first born was assisted pregnancy and I wish I had known that I was going to hold on "too tight" worrying and anxious about everything after she was born and that this is a real issue with assisted pregnancy babies because they are so longed for and worked for. I was so exhausted keeping her safe-luckily the pressure was of her with a subsequent pregnancy of twins and she could be herself without my anxiety and worry.

What a Blessing. And just remember you got to pray to thank God for letting you be pregnant , so pray so that the soul of your baby will be harmonious with both of you. And I pray for the 3 of you.

A midwife helps same as a doula i guess , never knew about a doula until about a year ago!!! My grandmother had 8 children, the first one was born in a hospital and the others at home!!! My mum used to say everytime my grandmother had contractions with each child she would say go and get the midwife!!! My mum used to laugh as the Midwife was about 90 years old. This of course was many many years ago!!!
