Preferring to name triceratops with names starting with T, giving mammoths hair cuts and hating for them to be lonely, talking about handfeeding microraptors....... So much nostalgia from Prehistoric Park right here..
93rd like to your comment, hearing his voice brings so much nostalgia to me as well. God I miss watching Prehistoric Park. Reply made: 11:56 AM Saturday, September 10 2022
Just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I wrote a majority of Nigel’s dialogue lines and love being able to hear them all (plus, it’s easier to show my parents this than the game haha) ❤
Good job with smuggling in all the Prehistoric Park references. Also good writing around trademarks when you reference "your favorite dinosaur movie" without naming the movie itself.
@@danielbaldwin8930 omg, I've watched this as a child in Brazil, but I never was able to remember the name of the show because of the translation of the name (I don't remember how they translated it at the time). Now, besides loving the game, I'm very happy to rediscover Prehistoric Park
@@Chris3121996 The Mammoth is quite large actually! The reason why some dinosaurs may seem smaller is because a decent chunk of dinosaur media likes to oversize them. Although, due to the lack of airsacks throughout their body, Mammoths weren't capable of getting close to as large as some Sauropods.
The dinosaurs look SO much better than Jurassic World Evolution's. Even putting the difference in accuracy aside, their builds, coloration and textures are just so much nicer and more believable here. Not to mention the incredible naturalistic animations.
Evolutions does have some pretty bad skins, but considering the roster that’s bound to happen. However when you get to the best of the best they truly are the best. Plus at least evolution 2 has much more different pattern and color combinations
I hope there will be at least a Permian expansion pack with pelycosaurs, scutosaurs and gorgonopsids; and a Paleogene expansion pack with brontotheres, entelodonts and chalicotheres. We need more representation of these time periods!
Daeodon and a number of other mammals like, hyaenodon, paracertherium and megatherium are planned, although there aren’t any brontotheres or chalicotheres on the PK wiki.
Even though these creatures are not considered prehistoric I would like to see species that went extinct decades to a few hundred years ago such as the moa, thylacine, dodo, quagga, auk and etc. Zoo tycoon is probably the only game to give a few of these creatures game representation. Imagine an aviary filled with passenger pigeons or a tank filled with stellar sea cows. In my opinion I think it would be facinating.
@@knightofarkronia8652 I hate bugs but yes I’d love that And some aquariums for the cambrian life It’s prehistoric kingdom so let’s have lots of prehistoric life
I loved all the Prehistoric Park references. It may have been a short series but it’s still one of my all time favorites to this day. I grew up watching these adventures with Nigel Marven and can still quote the intro word for word, damn this nostalgia hitting me hard.
@@buragi5441 The term itself is invalid as well in the scientific community. He even called them simply “sabretooth cats” in Prehistoric Park, 16 years ago, so there’s no excuse.
The Para had a fun fact, the simulations of their horns and trumpets revealed that they could produce a pressure wave, and it’s theorised that if enough of them bellowed in the same direction they could produce a pressure blast that would cause rupturing of the eardrums all the way to bursting of the lungs, they could kill by shouting at you.
I do know modern sperm whales (AKA the loudest animal on earth) can actually kill a human with sound. Dunno if that actually happens often, but I do know it's possible.
Thank you for uploading this. I've been wanting to hear Nigel's dialogue on the rest of the creatures. I haven't gotten the chance because it's kind of hard to run the game with the computer I have. I'm planning to get a better one sometime in June. Till then I'm happy to watch videos of the game.
It’s a pleasure my friend. I remember watching him as kid and thought it would be nice for everyone to hear him again. All the best with rig upgrade too, hope you enjoy it when you get it.
It’s not that prehistoric it I would absolutely love to see the Tasmanian Tiger in this game. I feel bad for them because we are the reason they went extinct.
Relatively sure a „recent extinctions pack“ was planned at some point, it would include the Tasmanian tiger, the dodo the great auk and some other animals I can’t remember, it was or is a stretch goal on the kickstarter, don’t worry if it happens, it’s already confirmed to be free.
@@droidcommanderthespinosaur689 Recently extinct animals were a stretch goal on the Kickstart, but the stretch goal wasn't met. That doesn't mean it's impossible that they'll decide to include any at some point, but I wouldn't hold my breath for them.
when I first heard him narrate one of the dinos I cried tears of joy and nostalgia..., I knew he was gonna narrate some but I didn't expect that. I remember watching both shows as a kid and this game has brought back so many memories for me.
9:12 - This is honestly much better than that overused reconstructed Parasaurolophus I kept hearing all the time. I understand that it is important for research purposes for vocalizations of dinosaurs, but the public used it way too much.
@@usupatuugames7442 Of the top of my head i remember them reamarking Brachiosaurus is warm blooded when every single dinosaur is and that Carnotaurus hunted Deinocheirus, which is not only much bigger than Carnotaurus but didn't even live in the same place. Those are only two examples i can think of right now but believe me, the game is full of them
At 3:50, as much as I appreciate the astounding sound design, the JP inspired roar may soon be too repeatable. The Isle and Primal Carnage did it, those were perhaps influenced by the JP characteristic roar. I honestly prefer the old version to its ,so called, “roar.” This may soon become another trend for sound designers.
5:29 straight up sounds like a MUTO lol I love how you can tell the passion he has through the delivery alone. Definitely gonna pick this up. I just hope my pc can run it smoothly
I love how he references WWD specials with the line "Ive seen skeletons of this creature" as opposed to "ive seen *FOSSILS* of this creature". This is a easter egg to the WWD special Land Of Giants which includes Sarcosuchus, Argentinosaurus, Giganotosaurus and more
I have the game but your cinematic vision convinced me to stay and watch the whole video! Then again, in a game this beautiful it's easy to stay immersed ;)
Now this is really my speed! I have seen so many documentaries on tv about so many species of dinosaurs and how they try to reproduce and struggle to survive from extinction. Although, they all intrigue me, but this video game “Prehistoric Kingdom” with Nigel Marvin’s voice introducing each animal species that the new park has brought back to life, almost similar to the documentary film “Prehistoric Park” which in this case, I can imagine it as the movies come to life from Jurassic Park to Jurassic World. Anyway, I hope that in the future, this game can introduce more animals in the new park and that way Nigel can voice the new prehistoric creatures that are added. How many creatures you ask? Who knows?
I definitely want to see DLC(s) based on the 'Walking with' series in which they can add creatures from that series. It could work as separate DLCs based on each series. From Dinosaurs: Coelophysis, Postosuchus, Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, Utahraptors, Leaellynasaura, Muttaburrasaurus and Ankylosaurus. From Beasts: Gastornis, Andrewsarchus, Embolotherium, Indricotherium, Entelodon, Ancylotherium, Deinotherium, Macrauchenia, Doedicurus and Megaloceros. From Chased by: Therizinosaurus, Velociraptor, Mononykus, Giganotosaurus, and Arsinoitherium. From Monsters: Hynerpeton, Proterogyrinus, Arthropleura, Edaphosaurus, Dimetrodon, Scutosaurus, Gorgonops and Lystrosaurus.
I don't even play this game because I don't like park tycoon games, but I love listening to this dude educating me about random extinct animals while looking at cool models of them
This game looks amazing, the accuracy and realistic behaviour really puts it above jurassic world evolution. It's like comparing Attenborough's prehistoric planet to the JW movies.
I've said it before but I really like how with animals where we're unsure of whether they had scales or feathers or both, the game gives skins with both options. It's a nice touch and shows how much more they care about accuracy than other prehistoric animal games.
One thing that has impressed me of Prehistoric kingdom is the inclusion the more obscure dinos as well as the trike's evolutionary cousins, like sure you haev the usual 3 horns but the other trike like animals have a place as they are equally fascinating. Also the pacjyrhinosaurus, one big fluff boi, I hope to see more fluff boiz in the game's expansions.
Really excited to see what other creatures they add to this art piece of a game, like bigger flying dinos, but the one thing I'm crossing my fingers for is the hope that maybe we'll get terror birds some day!
Believe or not this was actually the first time I had heard of Nigel Marven when I saw the programs on t.v. where he went back through time to Prehistoric South America and Prehistoric Africa and I didn't see the one where he went back and forth through time to the 7 deadliest oceans of Prehistory till I saw the d.v.d and it was really funny when I saw his version of Jurassic Park or what he called Prehistoric Park where instead of being involved with Genetic Engineering brought Prehistoric Animals back to life he did with time travel through a device he called the time portal.
The dialogues are neat. And the textures and soundings, oh boy they are wonderful. But let me suggest to the devs correct the collisions. Animals collide with other animals and also with plants.
What a good video !! Thank you for uploading this. It will be helpful for new players including me ! May I ask if I can use this video as a reference to make it with subtitle in my language ? I will put the original link and mention your channel as the main credit. If you do not give the permission. It is totally ok :D
Breaks the lore a little when he says he hasn't seen Argentinosaurus in the flesh lol, he saw it in Walking With Giants (or Monsters, i can't remember exactly) and he weighed its footsteps.
I remember hearing one scientist calling T-Rex 'Fear Incarnate.' I can't tell you how many nightmares I've had about it. The opening to Dino Crisis 1 is still nightmare fuel. heck, it almost looks like a nightmare. a massive beast sprinting at you, smashing through trees, leaving you almost nowhere to hide, and the last thing you see is a wide-open mouth full of sharp teeth. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MNw58nU-p1Q.html Fear Incarnate is a pretty accurate description for this animal.
@@陳嘉宇-y4q People say T-Rex was a scavenger and nothing more. it never fought with any dinosaurs. not even ones smaller and weaker than itself. which means if you encountered a real T-Rex, it would not do anything to you. it would probably run away. I HIGHLY disagree with that. more than 90% of modern predators engage in some form of conflict for any reason. food, territory, mating purposes, anything animals need or want. I like to use modern nature to get a good idea how dinosaurs functioned. crocodiles do alot of scavenging off the dead. does that mean they are pure scavengers and never hunted or fought? hell no, that's because it's an easy meal that required no effort. I imagen it was the same for T-Rex.
@@superzilla784 Agree with that, plus scars left by Trex exist quite frequently on other animals at that time Maybe Trex’s diet are similar to the golden eagle in the present days, feasting whatever they find whenever the opportunity appeared
@@陳嘉宇-y4q Yes, that's what I was thinking about too. T-Rex bones have been found with many scars from other animals, as well as scars on other animal bones from a T-Rex. they were most likely ambushed but broke free of its grip. I see it happen very often to alligators and crocodiles if the animal it caught shakes around just right. There is alot of evidence showing T-Rex was no coward, it was just difficult for this animal to catch prey.
Pretty sure velociraptor will just be added in a normal update. Since PK is still in early access, and is planned to have 50 animals in the base game at full release.
@@droidcommanderthespinosaur689 Oh, so these 23 animals are not the only ones in the base game, there will be 27 more? In another comment they're suggesting that Daedon, Hyaenodon, Paraceratherium and Megatherium are also planned as cenozoic species beside mammoths, Smilodon and Coelodonta.
@@droidcommanderthespinosaur689 I checked the Wiki, and apparently altogether 40 dinosaurs and 10 mammals are planned in the starting pack. Which means stuff like non-mammal synapsyds, non-dinosaurian archosaurs, amphibians and giant arthropods will be saved for the expansion.
