I sent a letter to Nigel Marven from the US and got a response a few years later. It was handwritten and included an autographed photo of him. He even apologized for the delay, saying he had been busy filming but was glad I enjoyed his adventures. Overall he seems like such a cool dude.

Nigel doesn't get enough credit for his bravery. It takes some balls to meet and capture dinosaures...

The crock probably doesn't like sand. I mean I wouldn't blame him, it's course, rough and irritating and it gets everywhere

So glad Nigel said he hopes Netflix or Amazon picks up a show like this so he can make more episodes (would be a different name). Also thankful for him being in Prehistoric Kingdom

Thank you RU-vid for this Remember almost crying when i found out it has only 6 episodes, with todays visual effects it would have been amazing to see a continuation, especially when you can easily blend CGI and practical nowadays.

I came into this thinking it would be just a cheesier Jurassic Park, but it's actually a whole lot better and the people are actually smarter than those than run JP and look like they're actually competent to handle these creatures. For one, they don't have too many predators, they have contingency plans for if Terence and Matilda break out (Which Matilda does), they actually do their goddamn research and feed Martha proper food and give her a herd to bond with, and for crying out loud they treat them like animals instead of spectacle unlike everyone in Jurassic Park.

The moment when Martha saves the baby elephant from the Matilda is probably my absolute favourite in any movie/series

Well here in 2019... well if anyone has watched the Sea Monsters series... I think they should do a remake of the series... and the idea is that Nigel and the others are once again sent on a Mission back in time to capture both aquatic and land animals, and bring them back to the present for Scientists to better understand the creatures that once lived in our planet...

I grew up watching the show. And as little kids minds are, I thought it was real. Then when I was around 7, I found a book about the show and in the back of it it showed all the animitronics they used in the show. I felt just as disappointed as when I found out the truth of Santa.

Canonically, Nigel Marvin harnesses the power of anomalies from Primeval to save the dinosaurs and compete against Ingen Masarani.

despite the dated representations and effects, I really wish this had've gotten a full series, with several seasons. Even now, my heart yearns for a second season that I'll never get.

if this would ever get a season 2 continuation it would be the best thing that could happen

As a child i thought this was real for a time not gonna lie

Nearly brought me to tears when I found out that there were only a few episodes when I was 8 years old. Ever since that day, I've been hoping they return to make more of this. Not likely, but the child in my heart likes to dream.

My thing with this show was, why did it end after 1 season? Like wth they knew it was quite popular. I really wanted to see more, I’ve been disappointed since then, because it ends on cliff hanger with Nigel walking through a portal.

Man I remember this series being the shit when I was a kid. Shame it rarely aired in the US.

I'll be honest: this show aired when I was, like, nine or ten, and I thought this was real. I thought Prehistoric Park was a place that actually has a time portal that actually let people go back in time to bring prehistoric creatures to the present. Once I asked my mother where Prehistoric Park was, hoping we could visit there someday; she said it was in Wisconsin (hahahaha!). Obviously, now I know that this hasn't actually happened and will probably never happened, but it really shows the realism the show portrays (even if only of the special effects) and how inspiring it is.

I still think Prehistoric Park could have got away with more episodes. There are so many different kinds of dinosaurs and prehistoric beasts that could have gotten the spotlight if the episodes made it past 6.

I would love to see seasons of Prehistoric Park again done with current CG and practical effects but just as whimsical and happy as the first series. Itd be great to see new species discovered or updated.

I loved this series =D Though I wished that: 1: Nigel saved a few Parasaurolophus for the park before going after the Deinosuchus. 2: it had a season 2

Dang, I used to think this look real. It looks good considering the budget and time but I used to think it was like actual footage.

I loved this show growing up, really thought it was a fun, lighthearted idea that was a nice contrast to Jurrassic Park. Like something you'd see on Magic School Bus or something.

There were more episodes planned and looking back, I wish they would've done them. This was such a great series and I really think it had the perfect kid-friendly Jurassic Park vibe and an outstanding cast. Nigel Marven as a host is obviously the best choice possible. The man just has a talent of staying authentic. Being a real life zoologist, he can bring the fascination behind animals to life like no actor could and interacts really smooth with the animals in the show. Perfect! Suzanne McNabb being a real life veterenarian also really helped with making it feel authentic and educational and Bob portrayed by Rod Arthur injected some great funny moments in the series, which made it just all around a great experience to watch. These people carried the series just as much as the fascinating animals did and I would love to see them back, if BBC would ever decide that its about time to do a thing like this again.

BBC used to be just masters of dinosaur documentaries to this day I've been praying for a remake of the walking with trilogy imagine if the animation team from the lion king remake worked on it

I agree with everything you said. I wasn't a child when this came out, but I was still impressed with the computer animation during the time, and the stories were top notch imo. The Carboniferous was my favorite period too. I hear ya on that one.

I remember playing with my friend from school and pretending to be scientists from the park. We stuck cool-looking sticks in the ground as a portal and pretended to get chased by creatures after saving their big stone egg.

I got this on DVD from a supermarket called Sainsbury's here in the UK when it first released. I remember it saying that it's a Sainsbury's exclusive on the plastic wrap which I later found out wasn't really true, but I had to grab it anyway because I was obsessed with dinosaurs. I had to sneak and place it in the trolly (shopping cart) because my parents didn't like it when I try to buy DVDs VHS tapes or Video game. Luckily my dad let me have it when we got to the cashier he sighed and questioned me about it and looked at the price and said it was quite expensive and I had too many dinosaur stuff at home, he nearly got mad but let me have it in the end.

As a kid I thought it was real. And didn't realise till I was 12 it was fake..

Lost memory restored. I forgot all about this show, but I loved it.

Nigel could convince us of anything

Hate to say it, but this isn't a Walking With... spin-off, or anything of the sort. It's its' own series, completely separate, but just happens to feature the same guy from the Walking With... specials, and he does the exact same thing that he did in the Walking With... specials, as well. Great series, nonetheless. And I will agree, the animation is a MAJOR step-up.

Bear in mind, this one was made for ITV, rather than the BBC, though the production company is the same.

I just finished re-watching Prehistoric Park after having not seen it in like 15 years, and held up super well.

I revered Martha as a god when I was young. Got a plushie that I still have to this day that I named Martha.

One of my favourite childhood dinosaur shows. I use to pretend I was Nigel sometimes and would build little prehistoric park sets as a kid! Keep it up & I subscribed!😀

I remember this series from when I was a kid. And now, here I am as an adult 20 years later, still hoping that they do a second season just so I can learn about more awesome prehistoric animals in a way that is different from the usual documentary style...especially animals I have never heard of or know very little about.

Having seen Prehistoric Park first, I kind of wanted Nigel Marven to guest-star in an episode of Primeval series that came later.

the absolute worst issue with this series is the idea that someone thought that a wooden fence would be able to keep in a t. rex

Nigel Marven is the Steve Irwin of Dinosaurs.

My only gripe with it is the cliff hanger ending, made it seem like Nigel was gearing up for another adventure, and we don't get to see it.

Plot twist: the two baby T-rexes that were saved were the baby T-rexes from death of a dynasty

A silly premise? Eh, perhaps. But it did work to the show's benefit I feel.

Nigel Marven is always just a treat to watch. I don't think Chased by Dinosaurs, Sea Monsters or Prehistoric Park would have been nearly as memorable as they were without his involvement.

There should have been a seen with the terror bird and the onithimimus running next to eachother showing the evolution from dinosaurs to bird’s

I would love to see a reboot to this series that actually have more seasons than the original version like maybe two to nine seasons

If they had another three episodes, maybe even including Coelophysis, Gorgonospid, and Plateosaurus into the park would have been nice.

Holy shit, I haven’t seen this since I was a kid. And when I say kid, I mean very young. This was my childhood, and taught me so much. I was obsessed with dinosaurs at the time, so it was exciting. It’s always been in the back of my memory, and I found this video today. I specifically remembered the portal and their dinosaur sanctuary/zoo. Thank you for posting this.

Not BBC. ITV. It's produced by the same people but that's it, for some reason it's considered a spin off of walking with series... despite having no cross over other than the same producers and special affects companies. And it's probably my favourite documentary, ignoring some inaccuracies.

Absolutely loved Prehistoric Park! I was totally engrossed in it as a child.. believing it all to be real! 😅 Can't beat these sort of programmes, they really don't make them like this anymore! Still got it on DVD.. will never get rid of it! David Jason's narration was spot on as well. "Theres something missing from our world." ❤️💯
